ASMu vs POP

We're going in August, and we're planning on booking the POP, but...

Is there any reason I should reconsider POP vs ASMu. Just checking on other opinions before we book TOMORROW!

We've stayed at Pop twice, and ASMo once; we're staying at ASMusic this year for the first time.

We preferred the food court at ASMo to the one at Pop. You can check the menus on allearsnet.com or on this site and see what you think. We had better bus service at ASMo than we did at Pop the first time, the second time at Pop the buses were fine.

Pop doesn't share buses, sometimes (not always) the AS resorts share. However, there are about the same # of room at Pop as all 3 AS together, so it comes out about the same.

I'd say go with whichever resort appeals to you more. We're going to Music this year for something a little different. I would not have a problem going back to Pop at all.

I have stayed at both, and loved them both. ASMu has a special place in my heart because my first on-site trip was spent there. It is smaller than POP, and a little quieter. POP is my favorite though, because it has a great food court/souvineer shop, I personally like the theming better, and I love walking by the lake. It just makes me so happy to walk around and look at everything.

That is all personal preference though. All of the Value resorts are very similar to one another, just subtle differences in size and the different themes. Look through the sites for them, and pick whichever one jumps out at you!

we went w/ POP for our first trip in Jan. The #1 reason (besides $) we chose POP was b/c a friend explained about the buses. POP has seperate lines for each park. If you are going to Epcot in the morning, you get in the Epcot line and go straight there. No dropping others off at AK first. Maxamize time was priority for us. Hope that helps.

If you'd like smaller, quieter and totally refurbished - I'd say go to ASMu. We just went in January and it was great. Loved the curtain in the bathroom area separating it from the main room area. Since it's been refurbished it looks so much nicer and newer than POP. During our stay there we didn't share a bus with any of the other AllStar resorts except one morning to AK. most of the time there is a dedicated bus to each park from each resort. I was apprehensive about that at first, but it was nothing to worry about. Loved the food court, it was actually better than POP.

Since POP is so huge and there are so many guests we felt like we had to be table vultures in the food court in order to get a seat at the end of September when we were there and you were quite lucky to find a table and your food still be warm. Overall to DH & I - POP was just too noisy, there were too many rude, unruley kids running all over the resort after 10pm at night, and some awfully rude neighbors in the 60's building.

But it has to be your own preference where you want to stay. For us, there were many issues with POP that made our trip very unmagical & we won't be going back there. So if we stay value it'll definitely be ASMu again. JMHO.......
