Help me make a decision. I have a reserv. for ASMovies for $92 a nite, but can get the Hotel Royal Plaza with the Mousesavers code for $69. Should I stay offsite at this resort or pay more for the Disney Value resort. I don't plan on having a rental car so would be relying on Royal Plaza's bus service to the parks. What should I do?

i would definitely do the all-stars. It is just not the same offsite. I realize that the offsite room may be larger, but it won't have that disney magic. And the bussing at the all-stars is verd good. Probably not that good offsite. I have stayed at the all star and relied on the transportation and had a wonderful time. So that is what I recommend

All Stars is my vote ! The transportation, the Disney Magic ... the list could go on and on. As well, keep checking mousesavers.com because depending on when you are going, you might just get a great rate. Getting one AP might also get you a great rate (although there is no guarantee of this -- we've just been very fortunate over the past year or so).

The extra $23 a night is worth it to stay on property. I have been told that the off site busses are not that great, like having to wait 3 hours for one in the hot sun in the parking lot. Stay on site, the busses are great, if the parks get crowded you can hop the bus back to the hotel for a swim and or nap, then hop a bus back to the parks. Above all else - The Disney Magic you get!

I would stay at AS Movies. We have stayed there before and loved it.

First, Hotel Royal Plaza is not off-site, it's just not owned by Disney.

Second, you will not be waiting 3 hours for a bus back to royal plaza. We recently stayed at the Hilton at DD, and the buses were very frequent. Everytime we left the hotel there was a bus waiting or on its way. You constantly saw Downtown Disney Hotel buses all over disneyworld.

Here's my two cents:

Is money an issue? How long are you staying? If you are staying a week, you are talking about saving $150. That's a lot of money. That can buy a lot of thing.

The only thing that I didn't like about being at the Hilton, was that you cannot use your room key for charges in WDW. For that reason, if money is not that big of an issue, I would stay at the All Stars.

STAY AT THE ALL STARS!!!

It is such a nice experience to have the whole Disney feel. We stayed at the All Star a few months ago and enjoyed the resort. The transpotation was great. We won't stay at the All Star every time, we plan to do a monorail resort next trip, but we will never stay at a non Disney resort again.

I would stay at ASMo. I have stayed at one of the Hotel Boulevard Hotels - the Grosvenor, and, although the bus service was not bad, it was not as frequent as the Disney transportation. Basically, the bus for each destination ran once every half hour, and the bus is shared with all of the other Hotel Boulevard Hotels. Also, you did not get dropped off at the gate like with Disney transportation, but the bus had an assigned space in a special area of the parking lot. Plus, I think you do lose some of that disney magic. If you can afford the extra amount, I'd go with ASMo, although my answer might be different if the difference in price were higher.
