Asking for Christmas presents

The radio station that we broadcast at, as put up a notice in the studio. Asking all broadcaster's to give a present to the station producer and engineer.

Every year I give to both of these wonderful people. I just found it strange that they posted a notice...

And, do the producer and engineer give gifts to everyone else?

If I were one of those people I'd be very embarrassed and appalled that someone would post that! I would have to post a response next to the sign saying something like...

"Thank you to all who would think of me and my family during the Holidays. I hope that everyone also thinks of others in need during this season as well. To spread the joy of holiday giving, I will not be accepting gifts this year, rather I would hope that you donate your time or good will to those who are less fortunate. Happy Holidays to all, your kind thoughts and wishes during this season are gift enough for me!"

Who put up the sign?

It depends, the producer and the engineer in a radio station may be down or up.

I would find out who put up the sign and ask why? It does sound somewhat inappropriate.

They might be a peer or up or down but they wouldn't be a boss.
