Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?
You need to shop at tesco - it's all square-ish there!

Sooner or later, doesn't everyone stop smoking?

Are you dreading the questions this week?
Comapred to Carol's they're pretty tame!

Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom?
I'm afraid neither. They just don't do anything for me??? :confused3
I like men - not grown up boys!

George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
Now you're talking - George Clooney

Chocolate or crisps?
do I have to choose? - I did turn down Orlando and Johnny?
If I must...... crisps.

Hi Janet I'm going to be ultra nosey as I don't know you very well,
tell us about DH, what does he do? how did you meet? how long you been together?

daughters? how many? ages? their character traits and foibles?

now, where do you stand on the fox hunting debate?

death penalty?

immigration ?

tell us about DH, what does he do? how did you meet? how long you been together?
Hubby Steve is a Health & safety Manager. We met when I was a bar maid in the pub he went in after playing football with his mates. He as the only one who didn't push and shove to get served! We've been together 14 years - married for 9.

daughters? how many? ages? their character traits and foibles?
Maisie - 4 - clone of myself/mum. Sensitive to others and very popular. She's developing a great sense of humour. She's very tall for her age - more like a 6 year old so she often gets asked why she's not at school.

Bronwyn - 3 - Petite and cute so gets away with murder! Going through a hypochondriac stage - will show you her bruises through the window before you even get into the house!

where do you stand on the fox hunting debate?
As I have a fox who lives under our shed I'm against fox hunting. I sit and watch him from the conservatory late a night and the thought of a dozen horses and dogs jumping into the garden and ripping him to shreds fills me with horror!

death penalty?
Bring it back. A crime with intent has no excuses. Child abusers, rapists, murders - get rid!

immigration ?
Before I met hubby I intended to travel and live abroad so what's good for me is good for everyone else. If I could get a better life for myself and family by moving abroad I would. Why do we seem shocked that others want to do the same? :confused3

Hi Janet, we've never 'spoken' before so I hope I'm going to know you a lot better when this week is over :rotfl:

Do you have an accent? What is it like?

Do you believe that there is one person for everyone in the world?

Did you enjoy childbirth? Does anyone? :scared1:

What is the worst thing about being a parent?

And the best?

What really, really, really annoys you?

What (if anything) makes you cry?

Ho did you find the DIS?

Do you frequent any other forums?

Are you a sad internet geek with no social life like me and Jules (Saratogagirl) or are you normal? :rotfl2:

please say you are a geek, me and Jon can't be the only ones

Same questions as I've just given Carol :)

Do you like other people's kids or do they get on your nerves?

Is there anyone that you HATE with a passion?

Wham or Duran Duran?

Chocolate or jelly sweets?

Cats or dogs?

What was (or maybe is???) your biggest fashion disaster?

How many DISers would it take to change a lightbulb?

Do some posts on the DIS annoy you so much you want to scream? (think refillable mugs, pool hopping etc)

Do you have an accent? What is it like?
I don't think I have an accent but whenever I used to go away on holiday when I was single I was always known as the "yorkshire lass" and people would make fun of me so i guess I must have.

Do you believe that there is one person for everyone in the world?
I believe we're capable of loving several people but i do believe that there is a "soul mate" for everyone whether that's a lover or just best friend.

Did you enjoy childbirth? Does anyone?
I LOVED both the births of my daughters. My sister in law, Lorraine was my midwife and I had my epidural booked for 8 months! It was so magical to be with my hubby and Lorraine chatting await just waiting for the baby to arrive. For all those who gave birth without an epidural - hats off to you!

What is the worst thing about being a parent?
When they're ill. Nothing prepares you for that feeling of helplessness.

And the best?
The love you feel. It's indescribable and makes me love my parents even more (if possible!)

What really, really, really annoys you?
Opinionated people. We all have opinions and should all be alowed to voice them. I hate people who shout you down and dominate discussions. You can only grow as a person when you listen to others opinions and learn something from it.

What (if anything) makes you cry?
I cry all the time. My family still tease me for crying when the Queen turned 60 and all these kids sang "Happy birthday Maam God bless you" and when I cried when Torvill and Dean won Gold and when Robin Cousins fell.
The last time I cried was last week when my friend was telling me about how her son cut his head open and she had to rush him to hospital.

Ho did you find the DIS?
I was going to DLRP in December and found the site last summer.

Do you frequent any other forums?
I don't have time! Besides I'm just getting to know you lot!

Are you a sad internet geek with no social life like me and Jules (Saratogagirl) or are you normal?
__
What's normal! I do go on the dis boards quite a bit but I'm afraid I do have a social life too. Sorry guys!

Do you like other people's kids or do they get on your nerves?
I actually like other peoples kids - or I wouldn't have had my own. I've never met a kid that got on my nerves if i did - well that's what wheelies bins are for?

Is there anyone that you HATE with a passion?
HATE is a strong word so i'd have to say no. I do dislike people but I just avoid contact.

Wham or Duran Duran?
Wham

Chocolate or jelly sweets?
Chocolate

Cats or dogs?
Dogs

What was (or maybe is???) your biggest fashion disaster?
When I was younger I was embarrassed about my "chest" so wore my Dad's clothes to cover up. It wasn't until I went to a proffessional lingerie shop and was measured and the shop assistant said Ihad the size everyone was having plastic surgery for that I dumped my dads clothes and bought fitted tops. I look back a photos and I look horrendous! ( I owe that women a lot!)

How many DISers would it take to change a lightbulb?
None - monitors/laptops have a backlight - why do you need a room light? :surfweb:

Do some posts on the DIS annoy you so much you want to scream? (think refillable mugs, pool hopping etc)
LOL - my lips are sealed but the pool hopping..........

Can you name all the teletubies :lmao:

can you name all the tweenies :lmao:

what's your children's favourite tv programme?

what programme do they love that you absolutely hate?

you said you were your own boss does that mean you work from home or from an office?

who looks after your girls whilst you work?

do you suffer the guilts about being a working mum?

Can you name all the teletubies
Tnikey Winky, Dipsy, la la & po! :cool1:

can you name all the tweenies
Bella, Milo, Fizz & Jake. :thumbsup2

what's your children's favourite tv programme?
Toughie - but I think they would choose Charlie & Lola.

what programme do they love that you absolutely hate?
Underground Ernie.

you said you were your own boss does that mean you work from home or from an office?
I work three days in an office but from September I'm increasing to 5 days but working the extra 2 from home.

who looks after your girls whilst you work?
They go to a local nursery which costs me another mortgage but they love it and I don't have to rely on asking family.

do you suffer the guilts about being a working mum?
Not at all. They have so many friends at nursery and they do arts and crafts that i would never do at home because of the mess & the attention span after getting it all set up!
When they start school they will know half the class from attending nursery so it will make that less traumatic.
There is only 14 months between them so at times it has been hard work. I think on my days off I'm more fun as I've had "My" time while being at work.

Tnikey Winky, Dipsy, la la & po! :cool1:

Bella, Milo, Fizz & Jake. :thumbsup2
isn't it sad what having children does to us, I can name all the teletubies and tweenies but can barely remember my own name some days :lmao:

do you ever get a chance to read?

what sort of books do you like to read?

If you get any 'me' time, how do you like to spend it?

do you do the cooking at home? do you enjoy it?

have you got your husband house trained?

do you ever get a chance to read?
not like I used to. I have a book at the side of my bed which I manage about a chapter a week. Before kids I read about 2-3 books a week.

what sort of books do you like to read?
Anything really. Loved all the Patricia Cornwell books. Only discovered "chick lit" last year when my cousin lent me the Shopaholic series which were laugh out loud funny.
If I want a good cry i read Judy Picoult. (spell?)
All time favourite - jane Austin's Pride & Prejudice.

If you get any 'me' time, how do you like to spend it?
Milky coffee, choc biscuit (or two) and a classic film.

do you do the cooking at home? do you enjoy it?
Hubby and I share the cooking but when we have friends over I like to cook. Its more fun when you know it's going to be eaten. It's so annoying when you cook something new and the kids turn their nose up!

have you got your husband house trained?
He's actually better house trained than me. I just need to get him to tackle the ironing! :rotfl2:

Favourite film?

Favourite song?

Did you pass your driving test 1st time?

What would be your ideal holiday?

What would be your ideal evening?

Favourite film?

Just a Giggilo/ain't got nobody. David Lee Roth

Did you pass your driving test 1st time?
No - 2nd time - I'm still amazed now!

What would be your ideal holiday?
2 weeks WDW followed by a week on a beach.

What would be your ideal evening?
Going out for a meal with hubby and friends. Back to the house for a nice bottle of red wine!

Have you read My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult?

Assuming you did, what did you think of it?

Did you agree or disagree with what the parents did to one child for the sake of another?

could you/would you do the same thing?

Jodi Picoult is great isn't she, will you be buying the new one next month ?

Favourite subject at school - why ?

Least favourite subject at school - why ?
