Ask about Magical Express Bus While Waiting?

I just came back from Disney and wanted to inform people who may not know -- I did not. The Disney Cruise bus also picks up for Magical Express pick-up from the resorts. I was staying at Old Key West when a Disney Cruise bus came at 1:42 p.m. My Magical Express pick-up was for 1:50 pm. I saw the bus driver rolling several luggages to the bus and decided to ask if he was picking up "also" Magical Express passengers and he said that the bus is a Magical Express bus also.

So the next time you go make sure you ask. I'm sure glad I did.

The Magical Express bus and the Cruise bus all belong to Mears. They dispatch all the transportation and so interchange those busses according to need. The Disney cruise lines only operate out of the Port Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, so on other days have the cruise line busses available.

The motorcoach that comes to pick you up could be one of the following types:

Disney's Magical Express
Disney Cruise Line
Mears Motor Coaches
Disney billboard advertisement

I think "all white" motorcoaches (with "Mears" in fine print on the side) are still occasionally seen in ME service.

Hopefully there have been no complaints of "the ME bus not showing up" when it really did but was "the wrong color".

(OT, copied from another thread): Meanwhile if you use towncars you have to be sure to Get In The Right Car!. This may require asking strategic non-yes-no questions. There ahve been once in a blue moon reports on these boards about imposter towncars where the guest after reserving and prepaying was subjected to a high fee at the end of the ride. (Actually the preceding is not fully OT re: ME, hint, hint.)

I am sure most guests will ascertain whether they are in the right car service or not. It doesn't take much to do that. The guests, Hint, Hint, who have hired car service, for some reason or another, have decided not to ride on the ME.

I booked a car service to go from Miami Beach to FLL. A smooth talking driver told me he was covering for the service I booked with. I was told the original driver didn't want me to miss my flight. Within one block I got a cell call from the driver I reserved with who was waiting for me, actually saw me get into the other car. I made the driver drop me off, he refused to take me back to my hotel. The right driver was very appreciative, he thought someone from the hotel was tipping off gypsy drivers when they saw guests waiting. I had the drivers number and the correct driver was going to file a complaint.

I hope hungry drivers at MCO aren't that desperate. We know that most car services have independent drivers who fill in. The fact that the name of the car service you booked isn't painted on the car doesn't mean anything.

All reputable and permitted car services and drivers meet you at the bottom of the escalator (baggage claim floor) with a sign and your name on it. They than escort you downstairs to their vehicle.

They have all been wrapped with Disney advertisements (Everest, Philharmagic, etc)

I've seen it happen. Driver pulls up in DCL, with a DME sign on the front. Announces as DME. Loads, waits till departure time, leaves... and then guests get up asking if that was thier bus.
