Sooo I've been crazy busy planning out our Disneymoon for October. I was talking a friend of mine and I made the comment "All I have left to do is buy our Bride and groom ears and pins!" And her response? "Ugh, you're one of THOSE people? You know you'll look like an idiot advertising yourself for free stuff".

For my, that's not the intention AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! This is our honeymoon that we've been working towards since our wedding in February!!!! It's also my DH's first time! When I'm there for Christmas, I wear my minnie santa ears the entire time, so why wouldn't I wear my bride ears and button?? Do people really think this of the people wearing their B & G ears? I've NEVER expected ANYTHING free from Disney! I'm quite appalled at her comments, but now I'm second guessing wearing them

Opinions?

No. Your friend is an idiot.

Wear them!! Don.t allow 1 person's negativity to affect your decisions. It's your wedding, your honeymoon, do what you want!! Have a wonderful time!!

Wear the ears!!! I personally LOVE seeing people in them in the park and I love to be able to say congratulations. NO, you are not "asking for free stuff." Disney sells them so people will wear them. If you get something for free - that's just Disney pixie dust.:wizard: I wore my birthday button for the entire 5 days of my trip because I was celebrating turning 40. It was important for me. The ears are important for you. Ignore your friend and do you.

Absolutely wear them! You won't be only ones. When my DH and I got married at WDW we wore our "Happily Ever After" pins and got a lot of congratulations and some GREAT interactions with characters, but we never got anything for free, nor were we expecting it. Wear your ears with pride!

Its personally not my or DH's style, but when I pass people wearing the different styles of ears, I think its rather cute. Have fun and don't let others rain on your parade. :)

Wear them!! We wore them on our honeymoon and I wore mine for our first anniversary trip too! Planning on pulling them back out for our second anniversary trip too!

Your friend was extremely rude. :(

It's not every day you are a new bride at Disney, so I would fully embrace this opportunity and have the time of your lives!!

Congratulations!

I'm somebody that tends to be more on the eye-roll-y side about a lot of things, but when I saw couples wearing the ears, I thought it was cute. Everybody is too busy having fun to judge your wedding ears. Wear them and have a blast.

No. Your friend is an idiot.

Agreed!

I think they are cute, and I wish we could have gone for our honeymoon, because I would have loved to wear them myself! We will just have anniversary buttons instead!

Wear them. Enjoy it. And congratulations on your impending wedding!! :D

It sounds like she is jealous (and maybe HER husband wouldn't wear them!!)

Wear them with PRIDE!!!

(and take pictures of the things you get for free to show her how much you SAVED with your ears!)

Wear your ears!!! I think its the cutest sweetest thing. If i ever get married i would totally wear mine the whole trip.
I dont even know where your friend is coming from with the ears and free stuff. Cast members dont randomly walk up to couples wearing ears and give them anything but congratulations.

My husband and I wore them with pride on our honeymoon and I would encourage you to do the same. It is not looking for free stuff, at all. At least, I never think that is what someone is doing. When I see the bride and groom ears, I think to myself that those are two people who love each other, just committed to spending the rest of their lives together through thick and thin, and want the world to know how happy they are and that they are newlyweds. That's what I would think if I saw you. And I would offer you a hearty congratulations! Then again, you can't just go by me. I tend to think that people are at Disney to have a great time and aren't really going to spend thousands of dollars in hopes of getting a free candy apple.

When I see people wearing those I'm just jealous and hope to get to wear some myself someday!

You put those ears on and you keep them on. I spent my 60th Birthday at the park last September and had my button on for the entire week. You have never felt more special than when you are constantly being wished a Happy B-Day fom staff as well as guests. When ever we see a couple with their ears on we always wish them our sincerest congratulations. It's your day, or week in this case-enjoy it to the max. Anyway, anyone who has a problem with it won't be at the park. They are too "old" and "mature" and wouldn't understand anyway. Remember what Walt said, "You don't have to grow up". I'm in my 60's and my wife and I grow "young" twice a year. Next trip in 91 days.

No. Your friend is an idiot.

Agreed!

I've never seen a couple wearing bride and groom ears and thought "oh, they just want free stuff." That's ridiculous. I thinks it's cute! Wear your ears and have fun! :)

We wore the ears on our rehearsal day and pretty sure at our reception. We didn't look like idiots as Mickey and Minnie were on our wedding cake.

Wear your ears to Disney. It's fine. Your friend sounds like one of those "I tolerate Disney cuz I have to" people. Don't let the killjoy ruin your plans.
