:scratchin That sounds too good to be true...must be a catch.

The first step to recovery is admitting there's a problem and putting all your negative feelings on the table...it appears you're on the right path...and I prefer to call my 'disbelief' ...realistic. popcorn::

You're saving yourself lots of money by answering your own questions:teeth:

:dance3: You're that much closer!!!

:rotfl: Or maybe you can help Kook, Padawans, Jenny and Pas plan:confused3...they seem to need some advice;)

Oh I am full of advise just ask my kids! :rotfl2:

Good evenin RCers! :goodvibes I've got all of these scrumptious food pop quiz replies to sort through...

Ok I will play....Must drink...Mango Margarita from Pop's Pool bar...if a visit to Pop is way out of the way....Grey Goose Slushie from France (I hope they have those even if it's not F&W)

Dessert...Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich from Main St. Bakery..YUMMY..DH and I had trouble finishing it....and we shared one. Warm toll house and vanilla ice cream YUM

Grey Goose Slushie: that's on my permanent Top 5! Mango Margarita? Ooooh, that sounds lovely!

I'm really not sure which Gods of Insanity have prevented us from stepping foot inside Main Street Bakery these past years? We always wind up in the Candy Shop. Is the bakery right next door? I'm missing out!

This is too easy!

1- mushroom filet from Le Cellier with potato wedges instead of risotto
2- Lapu Lapu or piña colava
3- banana fosters bread pudding from 'Ohana!

I'm seriously drooling. Need a bib. I've got all appendages crossed I can get into Le Cellier at lunch this coming trip...

Lapu Lapus... my first place.:laughing: I've been meaning to book in at 'Ohanas just for that bread pudding. It'll be easier than trying to nab a Le Cellier ressie at this point... I'm sure IPO thought I was insane when I requested that one a mere 115 days out during FD.

Hello Hello!! I would have a pizza from Via Napoli, lemon cheesecake from Citricos, and a Grey Goose slushie from France!

Adding these to the list! :thumbsup2 (Except Grey Goose Slushie which obviously already resides there permanently.)

WDW meal: Practically anything from Tokyo Dining - as long as it included sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad and tempura!

Drink: A strong margarita on the rocks would be nice, thank you.

One dessert: Just one?? Ugh. The Chocolate Bombe at TTS is great, but I also love tiramisu at TI. Oh, and I always have to buy the chocolate covered marshmallows on a Mickey straw at the MSB.

The list, it grows.

Haven't had it yet but I want to try a Lapu Lapu
Cinnamon Bun from Starring Rolls

:goodvibes Yes, please please please have a Lapu Lapu. I'm not sure we'll be able to get over to the Poly this trip. :sad2:

Oh, adding that Starring Rolls bit o' yummy to my list!

Disney Restaurant???....hmmmmm....we really like all signatures. Too hard for me to choose. But the dessert would definitley be the bread pudding from Ohanas!!!!

This bread pudding is starting to haunt me... :rolleyes1

And now for some slightly non-food related multi-quoting:

Weak... Feeling very weak. Worried about not liking AoA - convinced family that we had to try it out before it fully opens - need more TripAdvisor and AllEars reviews of AoA to fuss over

 I'm staying away from the reviews at the moment. It's down to ASMo or AoA in January. At least the pools are a non-issue for us at that time of year... No cabana-fights, big bonus. :lmao:

I told my DH that after this trip, we'll probably do London as a family (my brother is currently posted there with the CDN military and we save a bundle on accomodations if we stay with them.....also my hubby is British born, so would love to see his birth place and meet all his relatives!) BUT, after that trip, I gave him a heads up that I'll probably be back to either DL or WDW EVERY 18 months or so when our boys leave home....every YEAR if I can afford it!!! and also told him, if he doesn't want to join me , that's ok, I'll go with all my DIS DIVA Aka Lovely Lady friends!!!

This sounds familiar! We just went to visit the hub's family outside London last month. :goodvibes My consolation prize for enduring the MIL was our upcoming Disney trip. :thumbsup2

Anyways, in regards to the whole CL thing...my girls haven't even done it yet and I know I'm in trouble...they keep talking about the "snack room" and asking exactly how close it will be to our room and how many times per day we can go there...and "really??? we don't have to pay to get stuff???" (little do they know how much we are paying to stay there...)

I think they'll definitely be spoiled by this whole experience!

You are in for trouble! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Just found this thread and thought I'd say hello! Currently have a September trip planned at CBR in a pirate room (for DS - 5), but am itching to make changes to the trip. Originally, we'd booked a room at POR with free dining, but then changed to CBR pirate room due to the pool and kiddie water play area, the beach, etc. Would love to return to the Poly and be next to the TTC and monorail service (great with the DD under 2), but not worth the huge expense IMO. So instead of changing resorts, I've been changing ADRs and our itinerary every week! Ack! September needs to get here fast!

Hello, hello! :goodvibes I'm with ya, September HURRY UP!

Well...the processing software that I use is very expensive and extremely difficult to navigate.......HA! What ia joke.....it's Photobucket and it's FREE or kind of...$30ish a year to have unlimited pictures or free with limited space. It's just basic editing tools that are self explanatory...nothing fancy.

 Ah, thanks. ;) I've been using Picasa for most of that stuff. I'll be checking out Photobucket.

We need January discounts!!!

Yes. I'm doing this dance with you... :dance3::dance3: Now, just gotta decide whether we go for AoA with potentially no discount or go for ASMo. Hmmm. :confused3

Back to food again, hahaha...

This leads me to a question for all of you:

Where is your favorite place at WDW to eat ice cream?

No Way Jose from Beaches & Cream. Ice cream with peanut butter and hot fudge is one of my heavenly trifectas. Does DTD count? If so, I'd have to throw in Ghirardelli's Midnight Reverie:

Two scoops of chocolate ice cream, freshly homemade dark chocolate hot fudge, dark decadent chips, whipped cream and an intense dark midnight reverie 86% chocolate.

Dark chocolate galore. Gotta go find that bib again...

I'm so glad they came round to service the room. Did things get straightened out with the uncouth, yelling CM hopefully?

MK with no power?! Wow. That must've been super strange.

I have no idea how they handled the CM. She actually came up to me later and sort of snottily said "I can give you a hundred dollar credit if it will make you happy". I was like, umm, that's ok, our room is clean now and that is all I wanted. :confused3

Did you take any pictures?

So funny you said this. I told DH I was mad that I didn't take any photos and he just rolled his eyes at me and said he'd take a picture of a black wall and we could call that one the "dark MK" :lmao:

I heart: I think you will be at Disney the same time as with Kook and I!

Yay! I'll be there 8/14-8/20 splitting with Poly CL and YC GV at the moment :cool1:

I was going to try to catch up, but no way! I'll just have to jump in fresh. It's not like there won't be changes anyway :rolleyes1

Anyway, I LOVED all 4 resorts and will be writing a mini review comparing the 4 as soon as I get some spare time. :woohoo: I just wish I could pluck my favorite parts of each resort to make my favorite vacation destination. :rotfl2:

Happy RCing everybody! :goodvibes

Janet....:wave2: glad you got caught up...if that's possible, right!

Missout....I'm thinking you just might need a spread sheet like Kook!

I Heart....looking forward to your mini review!!!!:thumbsup2

Rain, rain go away!!!! 3 inches yesterday and 2 1/2 today!

BUT, after that trip, I gave him a heads up that I'll probably be back to either DL or WDW EVERY 18 months or so when our boys leave home....every YEAR if I can afford it!!! and also told him, if he doesn't want to join me , that's ok, I'll go with all my DIS DIVA Aka Lovely Lady friends!!!

know what he said to that???? That I'm going to get myself robbed and murdered one day, LOL :lmao: I told him to not be silly....I love my girls!!! :grouphug: We've been friends for years!!! I know them better than some people I see every day!!! :flower3: ......and I didn't care, I'd take my chances! :) so gals.....you gotta be gentle when we meet! No murder now, ok! :lmao:

DH 's mind is too warped by working in law enforcement for so long! He still thinks friends made on the internet don't have real lives....or are all mass murderers or something!! no worries though, I told him I'd be meeting my ladies once my boys are gone for yearly DIS trips and I wouldn't take NO for an answer!! :grouphug: We'll be meeting one day....sooner or later Y'all! :flower3:

Definitely, and Marie, I promise, no thievery or worse... will your DH feel more comfortable if he runs a sheet on all of us????

My DH didn't get it at first ... not too worried about me meeting up with my DIS buddies, just didn't get it at first .... now he does ... I talk about you lot all the time!! and it's been great fun meeting up with Jeannette, Sarah, Magic, and Christine whom I've known such 2010!! I wouldn't of missed it for the world and plan on many more WDW trips!! You are all such great friends!

I promise not to murder you! Or even rob you for that matter! My DH is always encouraging me to go on girls DL/WDW trips ... thinks it'll be good for me ... but I really just think he's happy cuzz that's one trip he doesn't have to go on! But who am I to disagree???? :rotfl2:

Same here Linda!! :goodvibes

You all are such sweet ladies:grouphug:....Ok, I won't stay away...I promise!

I want to rent points for us to stay there in May 2013...it sounds amazing!!

Jenny ... we were at AKV (Kidani) last year and Loved it!! I scored on a DVC rental 6 weeks out! It was a standard room but I didn't care! with 2 13 year olds we were going to be on the go.... my favorite time was early in the AM, I would go down and get my Diet Coke and sit out on the savannah viewing area in those rockers .... ahhhh... serenity!!

My friend whose family owns at OKW wants to go to WDW in September for MNSSHP or in November or December for MVMCP. If it weren't on such short notice, I would go with her in September for MNSSHP. I could probably do it, but flights are really pricey for being a few months out. I can't afford to pay $300 RT right now. It would be easier if we planned for a trip sometime next year. We definitely want to go to WDW together so hopefully we can sometime soon!

Hannah ... I so wish for you a Sept trip!! (as I know Nov/Dec are usually black out dates for Macys).

Anyways, in regards to the whole CL thing...my girls haven't even done it yet and I know I'm in trouble...they keep talking about the "snack room" and asking exactly how close it will be to our room and how many times per day we can go there...and "really??? we don't have to pay to get stuff???" I think they'll definitely be spoiled by this whole experience!

MM: Yes, agree, you are probably setting yourself up for CL all the time!! Hope you had a good day!

And I recall shocking my friends here staying at Pop..and loving it..you never know...
That makes a lot of sense! I remember the rate for Poly GV CL last year was the same as GF Sugarloaf wth 40% I believe $389 and regular Poly GV $289...I would love to see that rate again Late summer discount...BUT not looking good these days.

No murder or robbing here..I will feel the need to take care of you...nurse thing :lmao: My DH was worried when he knew I was texting my Dis friends...he gets it now :goodvibes

happy that DH is happy with us now :) Well, he might not of had a choice as I plan on being around for a long while!!

And Heather ... I will never be fully caught up but console myself that we area all in the same boat, right?? :upsidedow  If only I didn't have to work!!

Good morning, RCers. :goodvibes Coffee and / or tea for all..

Questions for all of you crazy folks...

  • From any Disney restaurant anywhere in the parks or resorts, if you could have just one meal sitting in front of you right now, what would it be?
  • If you could have just one Disney drink, what would it be?
  • and lastly but most importantly, which one dessert?

I need y'alls expert help adding to my "Must eat / Drink" list... :thumbsup2

1. Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli from California Grill. It's an appetizer but they double it for me for a main course :)

2. Sadly, chemo means no alcohol  I need to try a Lapu Lapu one day...

3. Almond crusted cheesecake from Narcoossees :cloud9:

This thread is hopping! I can't even begin to catch up:upsidedow

Kook, so you are really struggling with this trip. Clearly AoA makes more sense on paper than other options, but I don't think you are "feeling it". Can you list your wishes in a priority order? How does square footage, ease of transportation, food options, places to ambiance, running paths and so on compare? You mentioned the Poly, don't forget the whole bathroom is in one room...a big drawback with 3 of you! Is a split stay important, if so what are you looking for that the extra days at WL CL doesn't have?

Grumpy Grandma, so sad that my trip to California is only for 5 days, if I could have stayed longer you would be busy planning a jaunt to DL with me  I need to ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride ;) MY DD will be at Stanford another year doing a post doc...maybe a longer trip to CA next year!

pas, my DH and I were clueless how badly the storm last night hit our town. We were just lucky, so much damage in town

You just let me know when .... we already know where .... and I'll meet you. Many years ago my uncle and aunt both graduated from Stanford. It's a wonderful school. Anyway next year plan a longer trip and maybe we can take our daughters to DL .... mine is working on her MSW at USC. We'll celebrate our good health and our daughters success!

Janet...just had to tell you what a great job you did on the Pop Thread!!!:thumbsup2 I was over there lurking around earlier;) Everything is very informative and set up so nicely...very easy to follow. Why is it that you've never done a TR??????:confused3

It's so funny this mention of kids getting hooked on CL. I really wasn't expecting ours to fall in love with it so much last year. Every. single. time. we were either coming or going from our room last year at the BC, she demanded to "check in the lounge for something yummy." She was 4 then and she's already mentioned the lounge for this September's trip.:rotfl: Creating monsters, indeed. :thumbsup2

my kids are ruined I tell you! No way can we do CL :lmao:

I need to catch up on the thread but wanted to post my answers:

1). Pizza from Via Napoli (you can pick which one!)
2). I had a really yummy drink at the F&W fest last year - it was frozen and coconutty!
3). Bread pudding from O'hana or a cloudberry horn from Norway or a Dole Whip float or almond cheesecake from Narcoossee (and this one I haven't tried but want every time I see the dining review). Oops, was I only supposed to list one?

Heather Yes I need advice, but not from my dh. He just adds to my confusion. I haven't figured out why I ask his opinion. He really could care less. He's happy with anything as long as its not the GF.

AS For food
I have had so many great meals at Disney. We have eaten at all the signature restaurants numerous times. This last trip we tried some of the non signatures. The one that really stands out in my mind is the pizza at Via Napoli. I think I might be the third person to mention this. I'm not really a dessert person. A couple bites and I'm done, but I really like the mango pie at Yak and Yeti. Thats the only dessert I'll finish.

Oops I forgot about the alcoholic beverages. This is one area I have a lot of experience. I like the Avocado and blood orange margies. The lapu lapus of course. All the restaurants bars make great martinis. My personel favorite is the lemon drop.

That sounds like a plan!

As a New Yorker I just can't fathom any pizza being better than what we have at home. :rotfl: I also prefer not to eat Italian food on vacation because that's pretty much all we eat at home!

We have a lot of New York and Chicago transplants here. You guys are very passionate about your Pizza.

I feel the same way about Mexican food. We get a lot of good Mexican food here and I cook it a lot. I don't have an ounce of Mexican in me, but I do love the food. I never thought I would like La Haceinda, but we never miss it on a trip.

Wow! This thread is hopping! No way I can keep up! I just had to say thank you ladies for easing my mind about your lack of criminal intent! :rotfl: Janet, I think DH needs to get his mind outta work and realize you gals are Family! :grouphug: Pas, knowing you'll be there to care for me makes e feel Great! Linda, I hope if I get a chance to do the DL dis diva trip, I want you for my roomie :) but.....I am an onsite gal, I need to try DL hotel.....no HOJO for me, :rotfl: remember......I Am a CL addict :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I agree....once CL, ALWAYS CL! :lmao: I've never been able to go back!

We do not play when it comes to pizza! When we are out of town an someone says a place has good pizza we all just look at each other and laugh.

I LOVE Mexican food. I don't cook it often, but I love to eat it! We have a few really good Mexican places in NY, but I love to eat it when we go away. Wanna cook me some Mexican one night? ;):lmao:

I've been popping in with interest, lots of great dining (and drinking) suggestions! Been a busy day, but I am take notes!

Hubster calls you guys my invisible friends. I think it's sweet. :goodvibes
I hope to meet you all someday, in the meantime, it's fun to post and hear about what's new and what the latest change might be.

Good morning ladies! I need opinions on this:

Dec 1-5 2013 4 night Bahamas on the dream:cloud9:
Dec 5-9 2013 4 nights WDW (maybe 3 nights, not sure):confused3

Is this a good time to do this ? DH wants to do cruise first, then parks. Fine by me....I am just glad he wants to do it! Is that week ok at the parks?

Also, if we do SW weekend in May, which weekend is generally better to go?

No changes for Upcoming trip, I was going to change our stroller model just for kicks...but left it alone!;)
