Sorry to hear your Boss is being such a jerk. It has been my expierence some superiors once they see they can upset a workers can take it to the extreme.

All I can say is the sexual harassment laws are on your side back in the day I was not so fortunate. Dani I have seen a couple members of management shown the door so fast their heads spun.

As far as taking the both kids alone to Disney, I think it would be hard with Lily being so young noyt to mention exhausting ans stressful.

I don't get it. I would never want to make anyone feel as terrible as I do. How do people enjoy that?

DisneyDreamin247, That must be very frustrating. Hope things are better today.
Sending you a hug.

Thanks.

I am sorry to hear you have to deal with such an a**:worried: I have no advice but hang in there. I firmly believe in karma.

pas So far he has harassed me about my need to wear different shoes because of the accident (my doc wrote a note for me to wear sneakers because of my knee and back), he has called HR to change my pump times, he has tried to change the time I leave work (which backfired on him), and now he is scrutinizing my timesheet. I want to know why it was mytimesheet being questioned. No one who works under 6 hours is taking a break (and as per policy we don't have to). No one else was spoken to.

Janet Thanks. I haven't decided how I feel about HR. They are usually useless.

Good Morning RCers : wave:

All this talk about it being so HOT in September/October makes me happy I decided not to go then. I have been only 3 times that I would say the weather was pleasant, end of January, last week of March, and my last trip, the first week of March. Hoping to add end of November/beginning of December to that list.

No changes to WL CL still tempted but BWI just seems about the perfect place to stay since other than MVMCP at MK, most of what we want to do is over at Epcot and DHS.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Sheila, a really nice time to go for F&W and MNSSHP is the 3rd of 4th week of October. We had beautiful weather both times - daytime 75, early mornings and evening high 50's.:thumbsup2

I'm thinking of an October trip again. I'll have to see if I think I can manage both kids alone on a flight and in the parks.

My boss is at it again. I really feel like he's discriminating against me because of my weight. I know that sounds so silly but comments he has made and the way he treats the younger, thinner girls really gives me a gut feeling. Last night he reprimanded me the way a father talks to his child. When I got home I cried for hours because I could hear the disgust in his voice for me. He was seething at me. It was SO demeaning. I haven't even done anything wrong. I'm following what the company has posted in its policy. Sorry to bother you guys with this, but it's really upsetting me. I don't know how to handle it.

First, I am sure you can handle the kids - I travelled a lot when my kids were very young (3 & under) and they were just 21 mos apart. You know Disney well, would be at a resort you would all enjoy...my vote is of confidence in YOU! (and you can always invite NanaChrissy to help.:rolleyes1)

As for your boss - how I wish there was some way to find another job. You already have good advice, so not much I can add other than my support and reassurance that this is a perfect place to come and vent. You are loved.

Good Morning RCers,
Happy Friday everybody!
My AKL trip is almost here! Very excited, but today is get packed, and get through that every growing to do list.
I love reading about other posters trip ideas, restaurant suggestions. Lots of helpful thoughts and advice on this thread. :thumbsup2
Other fun news, I think it may work out that we'll get back to WDW for a day or two in Nov. One last trip around F&W, combined with a Big BadVoodoo Daddy concert, who can say no to that? :cool1:
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

:yay: For packing! Any reason for a return trip is a good one!! We've only had one AKL stay - it was brand new, so no info about rooms. Based on my Poly experience, with GV being equal to a std, my Florida native friend booked std with her FL discount and we never gave it thought...fortunately, we were upgraded to Savannah view at check-in. Had no expectation to enjoy it so much! If you haven't stayed there before, be prepared to love it and if this is a return trip, then I know how excited you already are. Have fun!!:goodvibes

:cool1:

We did this morning...she told me to cancel she hates BC...then she wouldn't speak to me...AT ALL...SO I called CRO and changed to Poly CL, she was all smiles and excited. She told me she is happy and that is what she wanted....asked about MNSSHP, she said NO! I thanked her for her input :faint: but the resort for HRH...Poly KKC :lovestruc She's killing me :rotfl:

Okay, my friend...now I am officially, perhaps certifiably confused! The DH Poly weekend has been moved to POP? And GF adorer HRH wants Poly instead? What happened?! It is all good :cool1:, but I'll never find what happened it in all the posts I've missed. :rotfl:

I know.....but I feel bad...BTW got a babysitter (2 actually) Team pas sitters!! The kiddos will love them. They both are ER techs and great with kids...plus I love 'em!!
Off to do ADRs....and prie the DP out :hyper:

:yay: WTG!!! Maybe you could ask then to help out for the January RC trip?? ::yes:: :woohoo: (how come I am the only one with a Jan ticker???)

Good Morning RCers!!

Just wanted to be sure to wish everyone a Happy TGIF!! :goodvibes Well, for those of us who can say TGIF, for those who work the weekend...I'm sorry.

Have a great day...

Dani, dear friend.....HUG hugs!!!

I am so sorry. That is not ok. I hope things get better for you. Like other pp said on here...document, document, document. :grouphug: I am sorry you are going through this.

Thank you everyone for all the welcomes!!! I know I have found my place here with other RC! :)

Welcome home, Deena! Loved your FB photos and looking forward to hearing all about your trip...and lots of pics too! Oh, and how sweet your 10 yr old furbaby is with you now...bless her/his little heart. Must be wondering what the heck happened.

:welcome: You've found your niche!! Glad to have you join us! :goodvibes

Very true! If not hotter!

Chimo2u, Late Sept/early October has been one of the hottest and most humid times we've visited....and we've been April, May, July, August, November, December, Jan, Feb and March! Late September was horrible! I'm sorry. :( Best to be prepared - would be worse to expect cooler weather and be shocked by the heat. Do hope it is unusual and at least a bit more comfortable.:thumbsup2

BOOHOO!!! :scared1: yikes, I hate hearing that! But you know what, Sept 1-12, 2010 was VERY hot and Humid.....we survived, so I'll go expecting it to at least be that hot again....and if we get better weather, I'll consider it a stroke of good luck! :goodvibes ugh.....that weather is just draining, but at least we will have that amazing volcano pool to relax in :cloud9:

 Oh Dani! I feel for you! I've seen your pics and you are by NO means overweight, you are beautiful, smart and very professional, and you are acting much more mature about this whole situation than this Boss of yours......he sounds like an immature, power hungry bully. Is there someone above his head you can go talk to about your concerns? Do you have a union? You should not have to put up with workplace bullying, which this sounds like. That is so hard, keep doing what you are doing and stay calm, cool and professional....,remember something that is sometimes hard to remember: No one can make you feel inferior without your consent....don't give him that power! Stand tall, be professional, do your job, go home and wash yourself of the workplace.....you deserve peace in your life and not this turmoil! I hope that there is someone higher up who can help you, because workplace bullying is harassment and illegal!!! You should not have to live with that EVER  we are here for you if you need to vent!

Absolutely!! We were at the GF late Sept into early October one year and although it was the hottest I'd ever experienced, walking into that room and seating on the balcony (looking toward MK) with a cold drink was still heavenly!

Good morning, my wonderful friends. :grouphug: I can't thank you enough for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I have been doing chemo off and on for 7 years and was very apprehensive about this protocol. I was actually in the chemo chair with my iPad reading what you all had written. I can't even begin to say how much it meant to me...and the fact that I did much better than I could have hoped shows that friends and their support do make a difference. :grouphug:

One side effect from chemo is the infamous "chemo brain" (it's actually just an excuse for those of us whose memory is sometimes lacking) I have read the thread this week, but can't begin to comment on everything...this has to be the most active (as well as best) thread on the DIS! So, I apologize for what I miss!

Dani, no one deserves to be treated with anything but respect. I am lucky enough to have met you and you are a beautiful woman inside and out. As others have said, document what happens and don't sell HR short. You never know, they may be able to help. In the meantime  and know you are loved.

There has been discussion about the weather in September. We have gone mid-September the past couple of years and are going again this year. It can be very hot, however last year wasn't as bad as the previous. We just adjust our trip. Get up early, go into the parks, spend the heat of the day inside or at the pool and then go back out at night. The upside to Sept (after Labor Day and before the F&W festival) is it's Value season, less expensive and not crowded.

LuvLuvLuv, welcome home! Sorry it was so hot, but look foward to hearing all about your trip.

MouseMommy, sounds like with all the RCing you now have the perfect trip planned :cloud9:

:wave2: to everyone and to echo Minnie & Nana Happy Friday!

I just want to say how much I love my RC family. Thanks for putting up with me :grouphug:

I was just looking over the F&W deets and saw Smash Mouth is playing. Danimal loves them! This gives me more things to ponder. :scratchin

PAS: woohoo!!!! :goodvibes Great choice HRH :goodvibes I'll have lounge/resort buddies :cool1: I hope HRH changes her mind about the Halloween party. I'm sure she'd love it! :goodvibes There will be quite a few of us there that weekend, You, Myself and my BFF/and my sons (19/16) , Deena, Janet?, Amandaw......I Don't know if that is all of us, but that is quite a few! I think the Sept 30 MNSSHP is going to have a few of our fellow RCers......how exciting! :yay: I'm just so excited our paths are going to cross

Your boss sounds like a nightmare! :scared1: It's bad enough to have to go into work everyday, even at a job you like, but to have to deal with a jerk of a boss is unacceptable! :furious: I agree that you should start making notes of instances where you believe he is treating you unfairly, or bullying you. That way, when/if you go to HR, they will not have to deal with just generalizations, and will have specific instances to refer to. ::yes::

I don't get it. I would never want to make anyone feel as terrible as I do. How do people enjoy that?
Usually because they are miserable...and they can't take strong, independent woman. So they ty to "beat them down" TALK TO HR!!!!! :furious:

I will have a ticker for Jan soon....

OK so DH trip...YC to CBR to Pop (DH request)

HRH trip....GF to CR to GF to BC (disaster) to Poly :rotfl:

NOW my Universal trip...HRH, then I was eyeing up PBH, DH and HRH strike again....Royal Pacific. No slide at pool (but we can pool hop) they like the tropical theme (Universal's Poly I guess) :cutie: At least ;)my changing isn't only WDW

Thank you everyone for all the welcomes!!! I know I have found my place here with other RC! :)
Glad to have you here!!!

Morning all!!

I don't even know where to start :rotfl: I feel like I've been gone for a month. It really felt like a long trip! I have lots to catch up here at work. My last day is May 31, so I'm thinking of just waiting to start my TR until I have time off. I feel like I'll be able to do it right if I'm taking the time. I don't want to spoil much---but I can't keep you guys waiting, so I'll give you a sneak peek of the resort stuff!

POR: Way better than I ever imagined. Grounds were gorgeous, the room was immaculate and beautiful, there were new H20 toiletries in the Royal Rooms, the food court was great (and we normally don't eat at the food court), but the boat ride to DD was crowded--and there was often a line. It was quicker to take the bus. Bus service was pretty good for being a large resort and it wasn't far from the Royal Rooms over the bridge. Upon arrival, I was loving it so much that I was kicking myself for throwing the extra 4 figures out to stay deluxe. We'd definately come back, and I'd definately book a RR again!!! I'm glad we booked a garden view and requested 3rd floor--I would do that again!

POLY CL: Here's were the tour of the garden views takes a detour. We were upgraded to TPV!! We were the last room on the 3rd floor. The view was breathtaking, we watched Wishes from our balcony, and felt like we were in paradise!!!!! The room was large--and we loved that. We both like lots of space! Yes, there was a touch of wear/tear on the furniture and walls--but unless you were really looking for it--the view outside totally takes your mind away from it. I'm not a fan of the bathroom having the sink/shower in the same place--but it was okay :) I like to continue getting ready while DH is in the shower--but again, totally minor. We were pixie dusted on our arrival day--but you'll have to wait for the TR for that! We went to the pool our second day, but had to get out after 10 minutes for an "unexpected cleaning", then the entire resort crowded in the quiet pool--so we gave up. CL was definately different here. The lounge was huge and pretty packed compared to the YC and Tower Club that we've previously tried. DH kept commenting on how many kids were running up and down the hall like animals--but hey--we're in WDW. There was a minor slip with the IPO, but it was taken care of in a couple calls :rolleyes1 I do feel completely spoiled with the view and would definately dish the $$ to stay TPV again. Poly also got new H20 toiletries... I love them!!

YC CL: Before we even left Poly to check out, I got a text that our YC room was available. We were escorted to the 5th floor, immediately handed our keys and we were off to our room. I also immediately noticed that we had an odd numbered room. Holy monkey--we were upgraded again! We were the 3rd from the end of the YC  It was a longggggggg walk, but we had an amazing view of Stormalong Bay and the Boardwalk. We were right above the pool. I had only placed a request of "King Bed", and we didn't get it. We had 2 queens at POR and Poly, so by this time, we didn't care. This room had some wear and tear for sure, and felt super small compared to our room at the Poly. Had we not stayed at the Poly right before, we wouldn't have noticed. The bathroom was set up to my liking, however there was a little mold issue above the bathroom door. I called and it was promptly cleaned-and cleaned well. I didn't want to move because I liked my view, lol. YC still had H20 aquatics toiletries that we were used to. The walk to Epcot, and the boats were great--however I can not explain how much I HATE the busses here. This is why we decided we love the MK/Epcot split. CL here was great again for us. The offerings were great, fresh and yummy. The staff enforced little ones wearing shoes. They also are keeping a few snacks and drinks open all night--which to me is great. I really liked making a fresh cup of tea when I come back from the parks before bed. They said they aren't advertising this, but have been doing it for a bit and it's been working fine. To me--it's a great thing. We spent lots of time in Stormalong Bay which wasn't very crowded. We even tried the slide which was super fast, lol. The YC did not disappoint, and next time I will just ask to be closer to the lounge, lol. They were also painting in the hallways and on the outsides. It was a bit messy, but at least it was getting done.

I'm sure I have other thoughts that I'll pull together in my TR, but I have a bunch of people coming up to ask about my trip, and I've lost myself, lol. If you have questions :) Ask! I'll try to upload photos this weekend. I dropped my camera in the sand and it is pretty much dead. It didn't work the last few days of our trip and I'm ready to just go buy a new one :rolleyes1 I actually really like it, and will probably get the same exact one.

Side Note: We used Bell Services to swap luggage both times instead of a taxi--and it was great--we would do it again.

I have a lot to catch up on... I could sureeeeeeee use a recap! After I pay bills today, and sit and stare at the calendar--I'm going to try to make a plan for the fall. We both want to hit DL and WDW, but I don't know how it will be possible. He wants an MK resort split with YC. That's fine and dandy.... but which MK :confused3 I'm sure I'll just keep switching around the monorail :hyper: Today I will call and see if any of my tentative dates have the Poly Honeymoon Suite available, if not--I'll probably put a hold on a Deluxe King RPC. What in the world happened to the Little Mermaid :rotfl2::rotfl: Deluxe resorts have my heart. :lovestruc I truly to see what everyone is talking about at the Polynesian. Being in the Hawaii building was close to everything, especially the boat, the view, the staff--it was amazing. I also liked that when we went to the YC, it was quiet, and there were far less children running the hallways. Although there were no constant Aloha's at YC... they all knew us by name and knew about our plans for the day. I felt way closer to the YC staff than the Poly.

This has taken me 3 hours to write with interruptions, lol. Hello to all  I missed you guys!!!

Dani: Sorry you're having trouble at work--I hope it gets better.

Deena King RPC rooms have the late summer discount, except for night of Sept30th.....just sayin ;)

janet my friend Up for the challenge of a Mother's Day recap....

Dani I agree you need to get a notebook and write everything down .... date, time, place, who was there and what was said. You should start doing this asap .... if you never use it fine but if you do need it you've got it. So sorry this is happening to you.

Sarah, you've been in my thoughts and prayer every day. It is good to see you here today, and hope you are feeling good. I cannot even begin to imagine 7 yrs of Chemo off and on. Radiation was recommended for me, but I declined. You are an inspiration to me. Bless you!

I just want to say how much I love my RC family. Thanks for putting up with me :grouphug:
I was just looking over the F&W deets and saw Smash Mouth is playing. Danimal loves them! This gives me more things to ponder. :scratchin

We love you too - but in no way are we "putting up" with you! I am honored that you feel comfortable enough to share the difficult days with us. It is easy to share the joy, but true friends want to support one another always.

Okay...I am older than I thought...never even heard of Smash Mouth - what the heck is that??? :rotfl: If Danimal enjoys it, then sounds like another in the pro column for a Fall trip! ::yes::

I will have a ticker for Jan soon....

OK so DH trip...YC to CBR to Pop (DH request)

HRH trip....GF to CR to GF to BC (disaster) to Poly :rotfl:

NOW my Universal trip...HRH, then I was eyeing up PBH, DH and HRH strike again....Royal Pacific. No slide at pool (but we can pool hop) they like the tropical theme (Universals Poly I guess) :cutie: At least ;)my changing isn't only WDW

:yay: Now I see how it all unfolded!! :yay: Honestly, it always looks perfect to me.... I am just so happy for you that you'll have a DH weekend, HRH birthday and the Uni trip, but with a Disney day for you & Katie.

....but POP for a couples weekend....we shall see.... ;) :teeth:

Christine you are not the only one with a January ticker ... I have one too .... it's just easy to miss in my crazy rotating ticker! :rotfl2:

Someone just booked a Deluxe Room at WL (and a CY room for MIL) just one night (can't save $$$ to save my life):rolleyes1

Deena :goodvibes WELCOME HOME!!! :goodvibes I am so happy to hear your positive report of the POLY....I can't wait for our stay, I'm VERY excited!!! :lovestruc So it looks like we might run into each other at Cali Grill on the 28th :cool1: I am very much looking forward to my first meal here! Last night I looked at all ears menu, and I saw the fancy descriptions for the meal choices....that might put off my pizza-loving-fine-dining-virgin teen boys :rotfl2:.......I will hope they can translate into plain English for those boys! I already saw the Ceaser salad will need a makeover ie) NO Anchovies or Olives for the boys.......but for me, it sounds GREAT! :)

Yay WL for Pas!!!

I just opened a new spreadsheet and am currently waffleing between Sugarloaf, CR Atrium Standard, and Poly CL (GV/LV). I know DH wants WL and/or YC..... but I dunno--I just don't get that lovin' feeling at WL. Maybe after I see a new room I'll feel differently :confused3

I have a feeling I'll be booked before the day is over.
