As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

:rotfl2: you are too funny! I love Aruba but prefer the hectic ness of disney too! If you have the villa you can make breakfast easy enough. We also bring home leftovers for snacks/ lunch the next day.

I'm at the beach right now and all of these people are just laying around doing NOTHING!!!! My wife and child keep on saying how great it is to relax, not like disney! I swear next year I might take a solo trip. They both told me to shut up about disney while we were here. At least when I pay for dinner I bring out my disney credit card. That makes me smile. Yes I guess I have issues!

I did take one of those "big mabel" tube rides. That was very fun!

Well you are probably the only one to appreciate this then.

A few years back we went to Marco Island Fla. After 3 days I couldn't take it.

I called Disney and got a great rate for AKL. We checked out and headed north, to my favorite place!

Anybody else????

party:

Yay for August! Thanks for including me, trish! Janet, thanks for adding us! Our other dates are Jan. 4-12, and then I'm working on a short visit in March (visiting my parents during the boys spring break again, stopping by WDW for a couple nights again . . . )

And although we have two teens, our youngest is only seven. He loves legos and can read all the ads in the Lego magazine, so we can't avoid Legoland much longer. We went to Legoland California for the older boys when they were little, so our youngest gets a turn. Mousemommy, this is one of those times that the age difference helps everyone to be good compromisers! Anyone been to the Legoland in Florida?

Well you are probably the only one to appreciate this then.

Love it!! Just love this story. :)

Shakes, this is exactly how our WDW trips grow!

Pas, only 16 days!!! Will really look forward to hearing about your adventures! Funny you mention the single digit dance - just did a single digit dance in the car with the boys on the way to lunch today! Holding on to that ASMu reservation - just need to stay put for 9 more days. Our youngest just said that, in all of disney, he's most looking forward to space mountain and the calypso pool, so that helps a ton. But our oldest is starting to rethink that quick service idea and we're looking at more ADRs . . .

wookie, hope all goes well today.

If I was to go on Disney's website to put a deposit down on a room, would it automatically show up in My Disney Experience App? Or do I have to physically go in and add the reservation?

Reason is I'm not exactly ready for everyone to know I've booked it (not going to be a surprise as such, just not ready for them to know yet) and they know how to look at mde and I know that they do lol. So I'm hoping that I have to go in to add it so that they aren't seeing anything till I'm ready.

If you book it on line, it will show in MDE. You could always call and then just hold onto your reservation # until you're ready to add it. That's what I'm doing. :goodvibes

Thanks Janet:)

You're welcome! :goodvibes

I have NO idea...shhhhh don't tell. Everyone is already commenting they know when my vacation is from the open night/weekend shifts...:rotfl:

:rotfl2: so today must be technically considered a vacation day! :flower3:

Just wondering how many people do the same thing I end up doing. My wife isn't big on disney (oh the horror of it) so I get to do all of the planning. Free dining came out so I convinced her to stay at WL (her and my son like WL). It was only 3500, not too bad for oct 26 - nov 1. Issue is all that was avail was bunkbed room and my son hates the bunkbeds

So after looking everyday, a normal 2 queen bed room opens up and I switch to that and save around 200 as well

All is well. Then the main pool is to be closed during our trip. For me not a deal breaker, for the wife and kid it is. So we switch to AKL for about 4-5 hundred more. Again though only thing avail is a bunkbed room

We are now in aruba and staying in a one bedroom villa for the for time in our lives. It is so much better to have a kitchen and separate bedrooms. Of course now I had to change again our disney vacation. Now we are doing a one bedroom villa in kidani village. No free dining was available so I switched to the fall discount offer and also added a day so that we leave on sat the 25th instead of Sunday. If not tied to free dining doesn't make sense to me to wait until Sunday to leave. We are now up to 5000 for the vacation and that doesn't include any food! That also doesn't include my wife booking mnsshp for the 28th without realizing I already booked it for the 26 and 31st. Yikes I think we are going to be double the 3500 original cost.

Also it is sooo strange being in aruba with no adr's or fastpass+ to get to. No rope drops. Just relaxing. All I can say is I can't wait for end of oct!!!!

:rotfl2: and welcome! Disney math at its best! :teeth:

I'm the Disney planner in the house (trying to get DH to go back with us, but my DD and I go). And winging it everyday for food isn't too bad. Plenty of good CS and often times you can get an ADR even last minute (especially lunch). It's kind of nice to go with the flow! Plus just think of all the haul you'll get from 3 MNSSHP!! That should make some sweet meals :rotfl:

:yay: Although it's there for us it's not quite oozing... :upsidedow just too darn busy these days! :goodvibes But it will hit us soon!

Thanks, I'll give them a call instead of online booking. The one half of the split stay is booked (BCV), this is the other half. I'm considering Poly since it will be late April and hopefully some of the construction will be finished. At least i'll have a place booked that I'm hoping to get into. That way if there isn't a bb offer I can use at least I've got something. Here`s hoping it doesn`t end up on mde before I want it to lol.

Wookie, late on commenting but wanted to say that's a wonderful and thoughtful idea on the T-shirt for the girl fighting leukemia. Fantastic news that she is already in remission. :) .... and hoping you are feeling (and sleeping) better.

Thank you. Some nights, I get lucky and get to sleep by 2 AM.

WOO HOO!!

wookie, hope all goes well today.

Thanks. We met with the lawyer, which ended up being about two hours. The only problem is, everything will be put on hold temporarily while she's on maternity leave. She is due next week. She has to go through a process and once that's done, she is going to try and get it thrown out. If she that doesn't work, we'll have to go to either a judge or jury trial. If it does go to trial, she doesn't think the trial would last more than two days. As far as time frame goes, best case is that she can get it thrown out, we're looking at October at the earliest. If it goes to trial, we won't get a trial date until some time in 2015. The lawyer is pretty confident she can get it thrown out though.

The good news is that the hubby and I found our pizza place again. When we moved, we would go back from time to time to get pizza. The last time we tried, they were just gone. They sold it to someone and we had no idea where they went. We just assumed they went back to New Jersey. Well the hubby found a pizza place nearby with the same name, so I called. When I heard the man's voice, I knew it was him. We went by today and ate a small. I was so excited to take my first bite, that I actually burned the end of my tongue on it. We're taking the boys this weekend. When we go, we're going to give the owner the address and information on a building in Justin. There used to be a taco place there, but it didn't last long. I have no doubt he would do great in the location. His only pizza competition would be Mr. Jim's and that is not competition for his amazing pizza. My oldest is sitting beside reading this as I type. When he read the part about us going to Chelsea Pizza without him, he actually punched me in the arm. Plus, he's commenting out loud on everything I type. It's kind of funny actually.

Bumpin' back up to the first page!

How is everyone coming along with trip prep? I ordered some more packing cubes from ebags (you get 6 bags for $44.00). I've used the space bags, rolling the clothes, etc but I still feel like I'm not organized enough so I'm hoping these will do the trick.

Today I'm trying to find a new dog sitter. Ours backed out and I'm not thrilled with the idea of boarding our Lab. He does so much better at home.

I think I can officially join the resort changers club!

We're heading to BWI on the 21st, and I thought I had only switched resorts 3x, but I just realized (while sorting through all the mailings from Disney) that I've switched it 4x since I booked it in April! GF first, then CR, then POR, and now BWI.... Oyyy!! For me the planning is half the fun!

Good luck on finding a new sitter. We have 3 saints and a boston terrier. If we didn't have a sitter we wouldn't be going. They are too used to sleeping in their own beds!

Made my first ever resort change today! :cool1: Sort of. Several months ago I reserved WL for early November, hoping for fall discount rates. When the rates were released, nothing for WL. I found going through Travelocity would save me $300, however. I usually like to stick with Disney reservations, to ensure everything goes smoothly, but it was $300. So, WL reservation number two was purchased. Today I called DW and had the original Disney WL reservation switched to BC for February, then linked the Travelocity reservation in MDE. Thankfully, it went smoothly, and all of my many dining reservations remained after the transition. :thumbsup2 Just the MBs had to be adjusted.

Sue, I'm still here, just been crazy busy.. :) Sorry about the car woes and the trip bust . :( luckily you have Disney on the horizon! :sail: Sam is excited however she has so much going on, its kind of on the back burner. SHe's looking forward to the trip though ... and RnR! (and I totally get you on the overpacking thing... I'm there for less than half the time you will be and it might be close who packs the most! LOL Shall we compare? :teeth:

I'm sorry you have to find another dog sitter. My sister is the same way about her fur-babies. I don't know what she'll do now that she lives too far away for me to puppy-sit.

Safe travels!!

Today has been a great day. When we woke up, the hubby and I were the only people in the house. My inlaws took our boys and my nephew, to see a movie. The hubby and I decided to have a date night. We went out to eat, then to see the movie Lucy, and finally to Freddy's for frozen custard. Well I had to have some fried with Freddy's sauce to go with my chocolate malt.

Sounds like a fun night Wookie!!

It was. Once we got home, I had to do drivers ed with Joey. He's enrolled in a program where he does the classroom part online, and then he'll do the driving part with a person. As far as the classroom part, he has to do a total of 32 units, that are supposed to take an hour to get through. We could do two units a day, but I don't think I can get him to focus that long. Now that we're done with today's unit, I'm going to get back to knitting.
