When we were on our honeymoon (this has been awhile), we were hanging out with other couples at the pool bar. A couple of us wives went to the spa for awhile for pedicures. Anyway, finally one of the guys mentioned that all the guys had been drinking in the pool for several hours and not one of them had gotten out of the pool to use the bathroom. Beware of pool bars.

I don't pee in the pool, but the ocean's fair game.

This thread is hilarious. I think some people are not being honest. If ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Just for the record, I use to do that. I do use the restroom before getting in, but if I gotta go, I gotta go. Nothing wrong with that. The amount of clorine in the pool will kill whatever is in the water. If people are scared of a little urine, how many of you get in the water without knowing which woman is on her menses. Something to think about.

You mean there are women on their period who would DARE get in a POOL???  Surely you jest.

This thread is hilarious and disgusting all at the same time!!

No chemical can detect:thumbsup2 but keep in mind the more overwhelming the chlorine smell actually means that more chlorine is needed. I will never swim in a public pool or go to a public water park. And if a child happens to have another sort of accident the pool should actually be shut down for hours to be properly sanitized….but they never do that.

Last year at Disney my girlfriend was in the hot tub next to a woman who had her children with her (I do not think children should be in a hot tub for safety reasons but that is another thread all together), She starts talking about how hard her fall has been and how they needed the vacation. She said she needed one because her children (who were in the hot tub) were just getting over hoof and mouth disease. She was up and out of that hot tub with in seconds.

I will never go swimming again.

And on the disgusting scale- the ocean.... hmm whales....that's a lot of pee.

Nope... my mom has a pool and told me when I was little that all pools have a special dye that turns red if someone were to pee in the pool. I fell for it and still have that fear so there is no way in hell I would chance it

:rotfl: That is so funny, because the thought haunts me also. And the answer is no. I am not too lazy to get out and go potty. That is really just disgusting. :scared:

That's just gross, and no, it's not ok for kids either. I fail to see how anyone would have an emergency that necessitated peeing in the pool either. You just get out and go, even if you have to be cold.

I do, but I pee before I get in, so the occasions I have actually done it are few and far between. When I was a kid in FL, we had a backyard pool and once I got out to go inside and pee and I slid on the bathroom tile and banged up my knee pretty badly, and ever since then I have been disinclined to run out of the pool just to pee. I am much more grossed out by the other stuff like "menses" and snot that can be floating around. At least the pee is sterlie. And just how clean do you think most people are before they jump in? At some places, you need to hose off before you can get in, but that doesn't guarantee you have a clean anus/genitals!

Tips for peeing in the pool...

1) Keep moving. It's kinda like walking and peeing at the same time. It can be done.
2) While your moving, kick your legs/feet to speed up the mixing process.
3) Don't have that "I'm peeing" look on your face. It's a dead giveaway.
4) Don't ever admit to it.

(ooops, too late for number 4. I mean number 1, ummm, tip number 4)

Our inground pool was recently completed and we are having a great time!

BUT....the amount of bird droppings that find their way into our pool is amazing! Even worse than that is having a bunch of 5th grade boys swimming and all blowing their snot into the pool. The likelihood of me getting a whole booger in my mouth if I get a mouthful is way worse than the thought of a little pee.

BTW, I grew up with the idea that red dye was real, too. Very effective lie, even 30 years later!

Not to get off subject, but in related news, the AP is reporting Disney is cracking down on the dirty "undercarriage" when using the pools at a Deluxe resort. After many complaints of poor hygiene from the guests staying there, Disney has decided to take matters into their own hands, literally. From now on all guests who use the pools at certain Disney resorts will be randomly tested for hygiene and sprayed with a mixture of soapy water, baking soda, and Oxy Clean. A Disney spokesperson who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, said "by spraying this mixture on our guests, we can be assured that no one with dirty anus/genitals will be affecting the PH balance and sanitary conditions of our pools". Disney will be announcing a complete roll out of this plan in the late fall. More details to be announced as they come out.

What I find way more grosser than peeing in the pool is peeing in the bushes outside the pool - at least in the pool its diluted with a bunch of water!!

Welcome to our OOL. Please don't P in it.

we used to have a sign with that on it by the pool.

and I forgot about snot, I had a friend that had that problem every time he swam in our pool he had gobs of snot coming out.
He is the only person I have ever known to have such a problem.
