We have officially decided to book CBR for our trip in Sept. Since we went to Aruba on our honeymoon I thought it would be cool to request that we stay in Aruba! Can you please tell me if this is a good location...and a nice "island"?

Also, can you request to stay in a specific area of the resort?

We spent our honeymoon at Disney's Aruba three years ago ;) .

We had a wonderful time, and I think you will too. The exteriors of the buildings are painted in a soft, Caribbean pink color. The interiors of the rooms are also very Caribbean themed, although they've all been re-habbed since my last visit.

We LOVED Aruba's quiet pool, mostly because we had a great view of the lake and OPR.

Enjoy!

CBR is a great resort. I have pictures on my web site. Aruba would be about a 5 min. walk to the food court and main pool.

I stayed in Aruba at CBR. I thought it was a longer walk to the food court area than 5 minutes. More like 10 minutes. It is one of the furthest buildings away from the food court all the way around the lake. I really enjoyed the walk every day but I just wanted you to know that it's a good distance. :-)

We stayed at Aruba last June and loved it. Yes, it is a nice walk to the OPR, but we didn't mind. It was nice and quiet, and we loved the quiet pool. I'm thinking Aruba is one of the first to be picked up on the bus route, which was nice. You will love CBR!

We have also stayed in the Aruba wing and really liked it. I also found it to be a long walk to the food court but it was worth it to have the quiet and somewhat private room that we had. You might want to request an Aruba room close to the bus stop though.

It really depends on your location in Aruba whether it is a long walk or not. If you look at a map of the resort (not sure where this is, but if you search around a little you can locate it) you will see that there are several buildings in each island (about 5 or 6)
Aruba has a couple of buildings that border the lake and are very close to the bridge, which is only 5 minutes to the food court (if that)

Other buildings, although in the same island cluster, are located farther out....so it is really the building that you are in in Aruba that is important--not the Aruba "island" that is important.

If you want to definitely be in Aruba (has great views) then you might want to request buildings #51, close to the water and I think you will be very happy!

We stayed in Jamaca in 93 and Aruba in 95.

Aruba is a longer walk but if you have a water view it is the best vista in the resort. It is a great view of the lighthouse bike rental stand and OPR. At night the lights from OPR reflect off the water, it is so nice!

I can never understand the long walk complaint when people are at WDW.
It seems a bit strange to complain about a long walk to the food court or bus stop and then walk around the parks all day. The walk to the food court and bus stop is short compaired to the miles your will walk when touring the parks.

Now on the return trip from the park I can understand wanting to be close, but lets face it, walking is just part of any WDW vacation no matter where you stay.

Have a great trip!

We have stayed in Aruba before. We really liked it. It is a short walk over the island to the food court. The quiet pool is very relaxing. Also, there is a beautiful view of the resort from the Aruba beach, which seems a bit larger than some of the other beach fronts.

All things considered (including price) Caribbean Beach is our favorite resort. Even though it is a really big resort, it is still very convenient. Each island community has its own bus stop and they start at different spots, so we have never had to wait very long for a bus nor are they usually unbearably crowded. As a point over reference we have been there for a week in late March (spring break), a couple of Memorial Day long weekends, and a Labor Day weekend.

We just returned from Aruba 2 weeks ago. We were in building#54 and thought it was a good location. We were close to the quiet pool, the bus stop was less than 5 min away and the food court was about an 8 min. walk. We thought it had the best view from our beach, very pretty! We would stay there again in a minute.

We just returned from our anniversary trip to Aruba two weeks ago also. We also went to Aruba for our honeymoon and decided to do Aruba at CBR. We had a great time. We were in building #54 and didn't think the walk was that long but we only went over to OPR once during our stay. They did try to put us in Trinidad South but we had them change it while we were at the front desk. I typicallly would not do this but because it was our anniversary I did ask. The hammocks on the beach were great to relax in. Aruba typically was the second bus stop but returning from Epcot one night we came in a different way and we were next to last. Enjoy and have fun.
