Artist's Point Walk Up?

Do I need reservations for Artist's Point? We're planning to go on Wednesday, Dec 12. It's our off day and we're planning to see the Christmas decorations at Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. Depending on how early we start, the tentative plan is to eat a light lunch at GF and dinner at Artist's Point. But I'd rather not impose any time schedules on it if I don't have to.

Thoughts?

I've seen that it's usually pretty easy to get an ADR at Artist's Point, even at peak times or when WL is seeing an influx of holiday pop ins to see the tree. We stayed at WL in 2010 from Dec 7-13 and we could have walked up and dined there pretty much any night of our trip. For the heck of it, I checked 4th of July to see if maybe all of the early slots were booked - i.e. to allow for people to dine and then head to a better view in the MK area for fireworks and even on July 4th there are tons of open slots. Of course, that could also change as things get down to the wire. (i.e. just trying to use a really busy time to gauge if that has any impact - I know that's not when you're going )

I think you'll be fine, but I also don't like chancing these things...so I'd probably book an ADR time around when you think you'd might like to dine. i.e. maybe you're timing it around Electrical Water Pageant or maybe you're timing it so you can get someplace else for fireworks.

Thanks. I think we'll wing it. We really have no set plans that day other than seeing the decorations at both resorts. So no constraints at all.

Once we get to GF and have some idea at that point around when we might want dinner, I'll just call and make the ressie then.
