Kinda interesting. My DSLR has three metering modes - the whole thing, center-weighted, or spot. I had it on spot for much of my WDW trip and found that I got a fair number of underexposed photos, especially outside. I've since gone back to center-weighted.
I don't think "whole scene" would work well for me, since years of using my film SLR means that I'm used to pointing the center of the camera at the spot I want to expose for and making sure the little needle was in the middle, then composing the photo...
