Forgive me if I shouldn't post this here, but I thought it was a very interesting article. My favorite part said that life for autistic kids isn't easy but the world is a richer place because of them.
I wish I could email it to the people who didn't want to eat dinner with an autistic child.

Laurie :)
We forgive all people who post things they think might be of interest.:D
This is quite an interesting article and I, for one would not have seen it if you hadn't.
I had seen a TV show (on I think the Discovery Channel or A&E) where they showed the "Emotions" flash cards that are mentioned in the article. One of the people who was working with them had made a lot of progress in reading emotion. It was very interesting to see him being shown examples of faces making different expressions and how he had learned to interpret them. It was very much catagorizing what he saw and comparing it to the "mental catalog" of images that he had ben told showed particular emotions. Really fascinating.

I subscribe to Newsweek, and I am happy to see the coverage of autism! Thanks for thinking of sharing the article with our DIS friends!:D

Thanks so much for sharing, Laurie :)

NOW I know which article you meant, Laura!
