Is there such a thing as a preferred room here? I was just browsing on Disney's website and didn't see one offered. But it says the system is unavailable so could be just acting goofy. (haha, get it?) Yep, bad joke. ;) Thanks in advance!

It is possible that it is completely booked for your week.

Disney has gotten very savvy about "requests", and turned them into booking categories because they can. Everyone wants preferred, because it just seems to be the place to be with young children or direct access to the food court.

I don't think so. At least not in the LM section. We were there over the weekend. We had asked for a room on a higher floor. But when we checked in, we were given a room on the ground floor, facing the pool. I thought it would be noisy, but it was really quite wonderful!!!

This is exactly what I was wondering! Thanks so much. :)
