Up nice and early and straight out onto the balcony to see what animals were about.
Only our group of vultures were visible. (I had suspicions that they were stuffed, until I saw one move). The sky was a bit overcast and threatened rain. So we decided MK was a good choice for today as there were plenty of indoor attractions and shops to shelter in.
On arriving in MK we headed straight to Alien Encounter. The show was 10 minutes away and the line was fairly small.
When we came out of the show it was persisting it down! So I ran across and got a FP for Buzz and we all hopped on the Transit Authority ride and had a nice ride round waiting for the rain to ease a little.
In between heavy rain showers we managed to hop around MK going on Buzz (I got the faulty gun again Jade beat all of us with a huge score!), Space Mountain, Tiki Birds (first time we had done this different isnt it), and we even got in to see Mickey himself.
We also made it in to see Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore.
The rain had stopped, so we headed back to AKL to try out the pool.
The AKL pool is huge, and seemed to be a funny colour (I think as part of the resort theming). The girls loved the slide, and I loved the very nice female lifeguards in their red Baywatch swim suits! I was just contemplating faking a drowning episode when the thunder started. The lifeguards started blowing their whistles and clearing the pool area.
Dinner tonight was at Bomas. We had heard so many good things about it we were really looking forward to sampling some of the African dishes on offer.
Our PS was for 6:10pm, and we arrived a little early. We were shown to our table almost straight away. Once we had ordered sodas, we headed to the pods to see what was on offer. We all tried a variety of dishes, some we went back for seconds, others we passed on.
The girls seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and the food, although they seemed to find one thing they liked and then stuck to it. I think I must have made about 5 trips up to various pods. It was really good value for money and we all came away really stuffed.
After dinner we decided that a bit shopping was needed, so we headed out to get the bus for Downtown Disney.
When we got to the stop, there were a few people waiting. Various other busses arrived. We counted 3 MGM buses, 2 Epcot busses, a MK bus but no sign of a Downtown Disney bus!
One of the other people waiting asked a driver from a MGM bus to radio in to see where the DTD bus was. It was eventually 40 mins. before one turned up!
If that wasnt bad enough, I had forgotten to put the old DEET on, so my legs we being slowly drained of blood by mozzies. I think I was anaemic by the time I got on the bus!
Once at DTD we had a good shop which seemed to cheer us up a bit.
