I had made this comment on another thread, but it's only slightly related to the topic... So I figured I'd open up the floor to the masses and their ideas.

If you could imagineer something for Disney, what would you create? What's your pipe dream? (I'm not talking about things like enforcing the rules about (insert your pet peeve here), or reducing the number of "Best Kept Secret!" booths, or having the park all to yourself/your family. Think more in the vein of an Imagineer rather than a grumpy tourist (and we've ALL been grumpy tourists at least once!!!))

Mine is to turn the Disney MGM/Hollywood studios into the rumored 5th park - the one dedicated to villians.

It already has the Tower of Terror and Fantasmic (which I think needs an overhaul anyway...)

RnRC could easily be re-themed to a villan coaster.

It would totally solve the BAH/Chinese theater problem.... just build Sleeping Beauty's castle surrounded by thorns... or Bald Mountian... or Maleficient's castle!

If they made it a good-vrs-evil themed park, they could easily keep the Star Wars stuff (including Star Wars Weekends).

They could bring back the real Alien Encounter too! Say, that building that says Sounds Dangerous on it seems like a great place...

Also, there would be no issues with scoping out a new area of land to develop... between wetlands issues, keeping a certain percentage of the property undeveloped, and just the cost of starting fresh infrastructure wise... This would also keep the number of gates at four, and as such still keep a visit to all the parks in the reach of your average tourist who can only get one weeks vacation at a time.

Here's another thought... TWO Halloween parties (with hopping privilidges on each party ticket). Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and ???'s Much More Scary Halloween Party (obviously this name would need some marketing magic put behind it!) But you get the idea...

Kinda gives the shaft to the whole Pixar Place idea, but hey, I see a big ol' filled in lagoon over at the Magic Kingdom going to waste... and what's the point of Toy Story Mania anyway? Don't we already have the Buzz ride in Tomorrowland??

:wizard: So what's YOUR Imagineering pipe dream? :wizard:

I have always dreamed about walking into "The Banks" home from Mary Poppins and it doesn't end there. I want to see Mary flying in from the sky with her umbrella. I also would like to see the old woman feeding the birds AND I want to walk into the bank. Of course a chimney sweep breaking into song and dance would top it off!!!
And I almost forgot about the tea party on the ceiling>>>>>>>>>:thumbsup2

Ooh yes the teaparty on the ceiling would be fun! I agree Fantasmic needs an update, just to include recent films.

I would make an additional Pirates ride (it wouldn't be replacing the original POTC, it would be in addition to the original classic). It would be themed around DMC & AWE and would include all the key scenes that everyone in the audience wanted to be in - like the bone cage catastrophe; Jack's chase from the natives; the epic wheel battle; the plunge down the end of the earth; and of course the finale: the Maelstrom. That would be AWESOME! You would be right in the middle of the action, with wind blowing in your hair and the occasional water splash soaking your face. It would be so cool! pirate: Of course you may realize from my username that no new POTC ride would be complete without an Animatronic version of Governor Weatherby Swann! pirate:

As many wishes & dreams as I've read about what Disney could come up with, this is definitely an original. :thumbsup2

A re-do for MGM sounds wonderful. We've tried & tried, it's just not our park as is. Most of all, we miss the animators, but I'm all for making this park the oft-wished for villains zone. I highly doubt there will be another castle within the same resort, but I sure can't quibble w/ your ideas.

I really don't enjoy everything focusing on being in synergy w/ the latest marketing campaign for the newest movie. Pixar has done some wonderful work, but it's amply represented. Things like Mary Poppins are a masterpiece 40 years later for a reason. Focus on quality, that's what keeps visitors happy to come back & keep spending.

This may not be as imaginative as some of the other ideas, but I'd love to see an American version of DisneySea....complete with the the Mysterious Island and Journey to the Center of the Earth.....

Building on the Villain theme, my wife and I would love to see a Villain Character Meal offered.

I read somewhere, cant' remember where :rolleyes1, that character meals used to frequently have villains but small children were terrified so Disney took the villains out of the meals.

I LOVE Maleficent. I was thrilled to get my picture taken with her at Mickey's not so DRY Halloween Party on 9/14 in my own Maleficent costume. I was surprised that my own character loving child was terrified to even walk close enough to see her while I was getting photographed. But back to your idea, I too would love a villain themed meal.

I actually started a thread just like this a few days ago. :goodvibes

It's called Listen up Imagineers -

We have a great list of ideas going on over there...

I would like a revamp of The Great Movie ride...with the muppets! Actually, anything with the muppets!

FELT FANS UNITE!
