Ariel's New Look Debuts at Walt Disney World

That is awful! The dress is a terrible colour and looks nothing like any of the outfits she wore in the movie! So disappointing! Belle's was the worst makeover, although I think this is a close second.

That's pretty bad. I understand cutting the volume of the skirt to make it easier to move around, but the rest looks nothing like the character from the movie.

I actually like it. I do think the sleeves could be a bit less poofy, but I love the color.

Ariel has a new dress and hair style!!! Below is a link to a picture and side by side comparison of the old and new look!

Honestly I'm really not sure whose making these decisions but these redesigned costumes and princess looks are insanely stupid. Belle's was the worst and Ariel is now a close second, they don't even look like the characters anymore. Where is Ariels Starfish, Belles yellow ribbon? I'm really surprised they even kept Cinderella's headband in her redesign.....

Disney are trying to fix something that just isn't broken, you don't need to make everything sparkly and shiny for someone to like it!!!! These characters have been loved for generations and the only reason they are modernising them is because of Sophia the first and so they match her when they appear in her episodes....

Hope Disney will change them back ASAP, Because these characters are just looking like poor imitations of the originals or just girls dressing up in prom/formal dresses.

..

Uh, yeah. Not understanding this at all. :confused3 What kind of outfit is this supposed to be? It looks nothing like any of the dresses Ariel wears in the movie. Pretty soon they are just going to slap a red wig on a pretty girl and call it a day. :(

I've always thought ariel looked bad. Dd1 didn't even recognise her in disneyland Paris as she looked like a drag queen with a bad wig. They always get her hair colour too dark!
The makeover is awful.

If they are attempting to "modernize" the princesses, not sure why they decided to make her sleeves 3x more puffy...that's pretty bad. :( I do like the color though.

They top part of the dresses colour is alright, but the sleeves honestly look bigger than her head :worried:... This dress looks more like Giselle's from Enchanted than anything Ariel wears in the movie.

I like the color of the top part of the dress, and I like the shimmery sleeves, but I think they could be reduced about 2x in volume.

The gloves are WEIRD, and I don't like the bottom part of the dress at all.

Also, why no starfish? Her hair looks so blah without it.

The princesses new redesigned dresses are not going to be complete replicas of what we see in the movie. If you have not noticed, on most merchandise now-a-days the princesses have complete different looks, these looks that have been present for over a year now. These looks are based off of the movies but will not be replicas! In my opinion Disney is trying to make the princesses costumes not look as costumey. I so far liked all the redesigns and enjoy Ariels! And am excited for more to come. I do agree something is missing from her hair but we'll see if that changes. Remember its only the first day that this costume has been released and it is still early. I'm sure better quality pictures with better lighting and what not will be released later in the day. I'm keeping a positive mind.

I just wish they would have kept the starfish in her hair. I really dislike the sleeves as well.

Gosh! Why does Disney keep on changing the princesses looks! Don't change something that isn't broken! Obviously evolution and evolving is NEVER good! Stick to what they know. Evolution is baaadddd.

Honestly doesn't look that much different than the old dress and hair to me. A little different, nothing drastic.
