Ariels Grotto

would a 5 year old boy enjoy Ariels Grotto or is it too girly girl? We have a 7 year old daughter who we really want to take but don't want to have him upset or complaining the whole time about it being too girly. Otherwise I will take my daughter and my DH will take him somewhere else to do something while we do that.


also, is there a place like the Bibbity Bobbity Boo Salon (in Disney World) at Disneyland where you can take the girls to get all 'princessed' up!?

Personally Ive seen little boys in Ariels who have had a great time. From an adult stand point, yeah its definitely girly girl, but some little boys will enjoy it just as much. The princesses are just awesome with the kids. But you know your son better then anyone of us here, and if your worried about it, I would say dont waste the money and just take your daughter and have a little girls getaway lunch for the men for awhile. That way you are to be sure that both kids will have a great time.

When we went there were a couple of boys (two or three in the whole restraunt) and the older one looked like he wasn't "trying" to enjoy himself. Like he was self conscience, but would have liked it if he hadn't been. The younger ones seemed fine.

I think it depends on your child. My son went all day at preschool with an Ariels Grotto pin on. He also pretends he is a princess (Belle at the moment), no matter how much we try to point out how cool the handsome prince is. I know he'd love it, but I can think of other kids that wouldn't.

If your son worries about what other people think, I'd skip it. If you think you could sell that he's a handsome prince and going to meet some cute princesses and get pictures with them I think he'd like it.

I love the part where you said for him to think of himself as a handsome Prince going to meet some beautiful Princesses! That is a really smart way to do it. I know my grandson would have been sold on that when he was a little younger....he's all about the ladies. When he was 3 we took him to Disneyland and the Little Mermaid told him he was cute and I mean to tell you, that boy remembered that for a verrrry long time!

We did this meal last March & our son was 7 & he loved it. He loves the pretty girls & getting hugs from them..... But my son has always had the eyes for the girls, so thats probably why he ate it up!! If your son likes the princesses then he'll be fine, but if he doesn't..... he could be bored or worse.....embarassed (so bring a camera)
