I have a question for all of you Beach Club experts. When we were walking around beach club one evening after eating at Beaches 'n Cream, we went through a door to the lobby, and there was what appeared to be a restaurant called Ariel's. It was closed, but it was about 9:00pm.

Can anyone tell me anthing about this place? Is it a restaurant? If not, what is it and when is it open? I have looked on the WDW website, but cannot find anything?

Thanks,

It was closed many years ago, it is used for conventions parties/ wedding receptions now.

You might want to post this on the restaurants thread. Many people remember eating at Ariel's. It closed in 1996, I think. Too much competition from the Boardwalk.

Actually I think it was more around 1998 that it finally closed, but it's been awhile. One of the few places that had always been on our list and we never quite made it there. Bummer.

From what I know, Ariel's closed after 9/11 b/c of downturn in tourists visiting WDW. Since then, they have never re-opened and now use if for private parties. It is/was the equivalent of the Yachtsman's Steakhouse @ Yacht Clbu in terms of a fine dining choice for the Beach Club.

We have stayed at BC and YC (post 9/11) and always walk past it and admire how beautiful it would be to eat there!

Hope this information helps..

It was closed for a good two years before 9/11.
