Hey guys. I'm thinking of renting a mouseboat for myself when I visit next week and was wondering...If I rent one at the GF are there restriction as to where I can go with them?

You are pretty much free to go all around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. You will encounter a few no wake zones and there is one area behind the Contemporary that is restricted because of the Sammy Duvall water sports area for parasailing and stuff. From what I remember, ropes will prevent you from going into restricted areas, so don't worry about drifting where you don't belong. You are also not allowed to get very close to the former Discovery Island because the water is very shallow. The patrol boats will let you know if you're getting too close. It is a big expansive area of water and except for those few exceptions, it's all yours!

When we rented the mouseboats this past New Years Eve, the only restriction we were told was to remain a certain distance from other boats. We rented from the CR and were able to travel all over Bay Lake, from FW and the WL to the Poly, GF and in front of the MK. They have plenty of patrol boats to keep an eye on everyone.

The only time we had to slow it down was in the channel that connects the CR to the WL, FW side. We loved the FW side because it's so open and all you see are woods. You almost forget where you are. You can really fly there:D The other side is cool to see all the resorts and especially be in the water in front of MK. You'll have a blast. We can't wait to return and ride the mouse boats again:Pinkbounc
