Are you worried about recent attacks?

I'm not just talking about the sniper thing. But Bali, Kuwait, Yemen. Seems like the terrorists had picked up their pace again. Very scary events. But yet, US news and gov't seemed not very concerned about these series of attacks. All we hear these days is Iraq.

I hope people are not forgetting. :(

In any event, LIFE IS SHORT for all of us.

GO FOR THE GUSTO DAILY !!!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D :D

To be honest, I'm more concerned with the local shootings than anything that is going on overseas.

It sucks to have to worry about being the next target of a sniper attack everytime I run an errand.

That's true. :(

On the other hand, I just really , really, really don't wanna experience another WTC-type events, and have to ask 'why weren't we alarmed ahead of times?'

A small number of crazy dudes have managed to ruin my weekends. Possibly our lives.

I 'm so sorry Blondie that you are in the middle of the whole sniper terror...We are not having the same type of sence of being treatened down here ( about 2 hours SE). I am very glad that Pres. Bush has so much attention on Iraq....I am very confident that the govt' knows whats best at this time for homeland. I do not feel that anyone has forgotten, whenever you have aterroist act regardless of country they will remember, The news footage at Bali really hit home for me this a.m., I remembered when it was on our soil and how they are feeling even though the number was only about 10% of the WTC, IMPO

I am very concerned........I tell my husband and children.. Live each day as if it is your last...you never know what is around the corner...Seize the day... :D

I'm not worried because I haven't watched the news in days. Can someone fill me in on what happened in Bali?  :(

2 bombs exploded in a resort area. 3rd exploded in US Embassy there (no one hurt). 183 killed so far. A whole city block destroyed.

These are tourists. It's Bali. It's a peaceful beautiful place. Nobody deserved to be murdered, not like this. Not to mention, it's going to completely killed Bali's tourism.

I feel so bad.

I am also kinda angry because I cannot get any decent coverage from CNN (TV). I have to switched to BBC to see the coverage and the horrible pictures. Wonder if US news just don't care because it didn't happen on American soil.

That's so sad. :( The reason I asked about Bali is because it's always been my dream to vacation there. I've always wanted to travel thoughout the region -- Bali, Borneo, Suluwasi, Komodo Island. That's so sad. :( I don't understand. Why Bali? Has anyone taken the credit for the bombing? (I haven't read the article yet.)

So sad. :(

I haven't forgotten. But I can't worry about what "might" happen. I think someone already said "life is short". I agree.

Yes I am very worried. This is definately not the type of world I wanted to raise my kids in. I feel the next few years are going to be total mayhem. Since last fall my kids have gotten to learn about terrorists, anthrax and snipers and in a few short months they will asking me about war. I am letting my kids be kids as much as I can. I try not to get as upset over the little things. We are trying to live each day to the fullest. None of us knows what the future may hold for anyone. We have a huge WDW vacation planned for next year and I pray that I do not have to cancel it due to terrorism or war.

I'm very concerned. I still don't feel like my own life is probably in danger, as long as I stay here, but you really get a sense of how we're all connected when something so bad happens to some people.

It's odd that some of you have mentioned not being able to see enough coverage of the Bali bombings. I've been checking CNN and Headline News every once in a while all day and feel like I've seen nothing else. I guess it's a matter of timing. I am curious about the bombing a few days ago in Helsinki (sp?). It seems like they never really said much about that one.

My dh and I were talking about this earlier tonight. I'm very concerned...it seems the terrorists are picking thoings up.

I'm also sorried about the sniper in DC area...I'd be very leary about stopping anywhere for gas. Whoever is doing this is getting very brazen...let's hope he, she or they mess up and get caught soon!

I think it's wrong to think the US doesn't care about these recent attacks. In fact, they are exactly what President Bush has been talking about. This is a worldwide attack on the West. The bombings in Bali and the attack on the French freighter have Al Queda written all over them. They have stated they are out to ruin the economies. Well, they've pretty much done that to Bali in one attack. Who will go to honeymoon there now?

FYI -- Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. Bali itself is primarily Hindu.

With recent word that more than one person is involved with the DC area sniper, I wouldn't be completely positive this is just a nut. Nuts usually work alone. By scaring everyone they are also effecting the economy and way of life for people in this area. This is the type of terrorism that Israel has been living with for years. Random attacks taking place in every day places. I hope this isn't a terrorist attack but I would keep an open mind until the person(s) are caught.

I am not concerned in a personal way, specifically, as in my or my family's personal safety at this time but I am VERY concerned in an overall way. I do think Iraq is very important though and I'm glad that Bush is giving that country and that particular dictator a lot of attention. These are dangerous times and I agree with everyone that's said to make the most out of life today. I intend to do just that.

I heard this morning that an FBI team has been sent to help in the Bali investigation.

You bet I'm concerned. We're planning a trip to WDW next June and it'll be the first time flying for all of us since 9/11. Both of my DS's (they're 10 and 12) are already nervous about flying. Now we have this sniper in DC, another terrorist bombing in Bali. Where will they strike next?

DH's company asked him on Wednesday if he'd go to Israel to resolve some problems they're having with a supplier; he said NO WAY and is going into work extra-early to try to deal with the problems via conf. calls. You have to be crazy to travel over there unless it's an absolute emergency!

We live in very scary times. While I agree life has to go on and I feel we are in danger everywhere we go.

Last year 3 days before 9/11 we were in Pisa Italy. It a lovely city, but I was very troubled while walking it streets. The buildings are full of Hate American's Graffiti. Now I understand when you are in foreign countries you are going to see things like this for many reasons. It's still very troubling to be an American and see and feel hatred. There are different forms of hatred, but a hatred that wants only to distroy, is pure evil. As an adult it's very difficult to understand this evil, I can't image what it's doing to our children.
