Are you sure this is our table?? *w/PICS* !COMPLETED!

Great reviews...I have a question about the island sunset drink...was it frozen? or on the rocks? I am assuming it was orange in flavor.

We...that's funny...no, I have not decided yet on where we are eating. I was told we HAD to go to Le Cellier (again) and Tutto (again). I am refusing to make any kind of ADR for Sci-Fi like my friend wants since I am biting the bullet and going in June.

Our musts...since we are staying at our home resort (AKV)...

Boma breakfast and dinner
Jiko
Sanaa - We LOVE Indian food, so this one seemed so good.
The Wave
California Grill
Tusker House breakfast - The 1 thing J asked to do the entire trip

That is it so far. I really want to try new places since we always go to WDW and we plan on going back in March of next year again.

And I may just try quinoa...one day. I am pretty brave and I have been contemplating going vegetarian again after my carniverous few years of not being. It may be sooner than I think...

Thanks for reviewing and I am glad I had some kind of influence on that. :goodvibes

The only negative was that we were seated right where they do the coconut race and the hula dance, and about 10 kids tried to grab my colorful glowing drink!

Ohhh! Hey kids, stay away from the colorful glowing drink! I would slap them away!

i cant wait to experience ohana for the first time in june... everything ive seen looks amazing!!!! ps i defintely want to try the magical star this time(ive had the island sunset at kona)... hoping its as good as you said it was:goodvibes!!

Oh you are killing me, my fav breakfast in all of WDW followed by my three fav drinks ever! I would give anything to drink those right now!

ME too!! I was dreaming of Ohana tonight for dinner. Sad I had to settle for a Lean Cuisine :(

Ok, I don't care what Ann says, based on the drinks alone, we are going to have to go to Ohana!

For sure! Even if you can't go to Ohana you can at LEAST go to the Tambu Lounge.

I completely understand about the bread pudding. I'm usually a chocolate girl, but fell in love with this dessert. :love:They should serve it first!:thumbsup2

That's the best idea I've EVER heard!!

It was frozen, and nope, not orange flavor. I don't really like most orange flavored stuff. It's got guava in it and peach along with some other stuff I don't remember. It tasted like those gummi peach ring candies!!!!

I can't wait to hear about Sanaa!! I was supposed to do Wave breakfast but we were SO tired from EMH in MK til 3AM that we skipped it to do Boma instead. It looks SOOO good though! I'm jealous you get to go to Disney so much!

Ohhh! Hey kids, stay away from the colorful glowing drink! I would slap them away!

LOL!

Oh my gosh you will love it! A little side story: when I went w/my parents my dad would always book concierge/club level and have someone make all of our ADR's. So when I went with my girlfriends for spring break I had to do the planning. The guidebook I had told me Ohana was bad and not to go there, etc. But we planned our trip so last minute that it was one of the only things available (weird because now it's hard to get an ADR). We all LOVEDDDD it and I've gone back every trip since!! You'll definitely enjoy that drink!

+1 on the Ohana suggestions. The place is very good and consistent at least for us. We went in 07' then again last year in 08' had a great time and loved the food!

That's weird that the Ohana CM kept telling you different things about checking-in and then claimed that he didn't tell you :lmao:

Maybe he thought you were expecting a table early? The CMs at the Ohana check-in can be a bit short (not that I blame them! It's usually a mad house!). I've been allowed to check-in 2 hours early before, but I made it very clear I intended to spend those 2 hours in the lounge :confused3 I also ended up with a table earlier than my ADR, but had to wait an hour and 15 mins, which was a pleasant surprise!

It was definitely a nice surprise that you got a table right away though :thumbsup2

Awww! I know the full tummy feeling you can get at Ohana and its so frustrating because the bread pudding is good enough that it could be a meal in itself! :cloud9:

Isn't it the best?

Awesome pictures and reviews!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks!!

I know! I want it now!!

Oh my gosh, I can't wait to have breakfast at Boma :thumbsup2

And I can't wait to go back!! You will love it!

So on Saturday we decided to take the day off because Belle didn’t really want to do Disney in the first place. We ended up hanging out by the pool before going to DTD for lunch and some shopping.

First, I woke up and Belle said she didn’t want breakfast so I went down to Mara alone. I got the breakfast platter, which was scrambled eggs, a biscuit, and breakfast potatoes. It normally comes with some kind of meat so I substituted for more eggs.

Later we took a seat by the pool and just relaxed for about an hour before getting up to explore again. But good explorers need fuel so first we went over to the Uzima Springs pool bar where I ordered a Poolside Lemonade and Belle ordered the Pina Colava. YUMMY!!! My Poolside Lemonade was realllllly strong and more tart than sweet, but I really liked it.

Pina Colava

~Overall I enjoyed Mara. It was a really nice area and it wasn't very crowded. My food was good and hot. I would totally go back if I were staying at AKL again - you can't do Boma everyday! Also, both of the drinks were sooo tasty and refreshing! Can't wait to try them again!

Loving your report:thumbsup2 You made me laugh about the kids trying to get your drink at 'Ohana's during the coconut race:rotfl2: I'm with you on 'Ohana. It is my favorite! We are thinking of going twice for our August trip. :cool1:

Looks like a relaxing day! The pina co-lava is great!!! They have it at tambu lounge as well!

I am definitely having that Poolside Lemonade in October - I am loving these reviews.

Now I am not worried about Mara breakfast at all...yay! I was kind of worried about what I would end up doing for breakfast.

And the Disney trips...yeah...it helps being a DINK and being allowed to take so much time off of work.

And btw....I think you are doing a fabulous job with the pics and the reviews!

Oh my gosh! I would so go twice if I ever stayed long enough!

It was very relaxing and a really nice day. I think they make the Pina Colava everywhere because I had it at the 1900 PF dinner last summer.

Do it!! And thank you!

:thumbsup2 you and me both !

It was so yummy!

Yeah, Mara was pretty good compared to the other resort food courts I've been to. Hahaha - I need to find a job like yours then!! Thanks!!

Poolside Lemonade

I had the Poolside Lemonade at the pool bar at BWV a few weeks ago, and I loved it! Good choice!

Great reviews so far!!! Ohana's was one of our favorite meals this past trip!! We loved, loved, loved it!!! We had a lapu lapu (sp??) before dinner and it was delish too!!! I'm with you on the bread pudding - the BEST ever!!! But all of the food is great, so it's hard to save room. But we did, and ended up eating 3 platefulls of the bread pudding between DH and I :rotfl: Boma is another one of our favorites!! We love their breakfast and dinner!! And Pina Colava's are to die for!!!!

Let the food porn continue!

:goodvibesthanks for the info about the island sunset.

Last year i tried the lapu lapu and it was OK, very strong. I want to try something else this time and i certainly don't want to waste $10 bucks on a bad drink.:rolleyes1 I am pretty certain the pina colava is in my future. I am still a little iffy on the peach flavor, love peaches but not crazy about peach "flavored" stuff.
