Are you superstitious, do you think you can jinx yourself?

I never really considered myself superstitious, but if there's something I'm really excited about, but not certain it will work out, I often think if I tell people I will jinx myself.
I am attempting to organize a pirate/sea-legend festival here in my home town in South Jersey. I have jumped thru several hoops, and last week met with the second in charge of the chamber of commerce. I have already gotten practically a green light from the Public Relations committee. The woman I met with this week, said it sounds good, she likes all of the proposed events. I am very organized and went in with an excellent proposal. She wants me to do it, and just needs to run it by the other two department heads, one who I already met with and who gave me an affirmative. But I won't tell my family. I didn't even tell my dh until after the first meeting went well.
Are you like this?

If I have a bad feeling about something, I'll mention the bad feeling to someone in hopes I can jinx the bad feeling into not happening.

I don't consider myself to be superstitious, but we play the superstition game at work. It's a no-no to say things like "what a quiet day" or "this surgery looks like it'll be easy." When those things slip out, people will inevitably moan and say something like, "you just HAD to say that, didn't you?" I guess they're afraid an emergency will come in or something else will go bad if we say stuff like that.

I do this too. I think if I say it out loud then it won't happen.

I don't call myself superstious, but on the other hand, I do feel like I jinx myself when I talk too much, lol.

For example...

If I remark how well the kids are behaving, well then of course, within minutes, all heck will break loose.

Or, if I comment on the pleasant weather we are having...naturally, the next day will be the start of a disgustingly hot, humid and unbearable week, lol.

I find it is better if I just keep some thoughts to myself, so as not to "jinx" myself.:D

I'm not really superstitious, but when I went to visit colleges I often bought a sweatshirt from the gift shop. When i went to visit Northeastern University, I fell in love with it. I didn't buy a sweatshirt from the gift shop, I thought that I would jinx myself since I didn't know if I was accepted yet. The day my letter came, I went online and ordered a Northeastern sweatshirt :)

I also believe that everything bad happens in threes. It's happened too many times.

Other than that, I'm not really superstitious. I worked in footwear at The Sports Authority this year, and all I did was walk under ladders about 20 times a day!!! ;)
