Are you putting your full name on your magic band when you customize?

Right now I only put mine and DF's first names on the magic bands. We are getting married next year so I was worried about having to change it later on.

Are you supposed to put first and last names? I suppose your last name will be stored on the RFID anyway (in case it gets lost).

Im pretty sure it's only for your use only what is printed on the band. Ours defaulted to our first names only and I left it that way. It doesn't change anything on your reservation information that is stored.

You can only use up to nine characters when you customize MagicBands. The customization is only for your identification if you have multiple bands of the same color for more than one person.

There is no personal information stored on the MagicBand.

Lots of folks are doing fun names. Like PP said, you can only use 9 characters in the name. I'm Bagheera, of course and my sister will be Cheshire!

Maybe I should change my name from Allison to Alice . BTW huge fan of the cheshire cat!

No, they will greet you with the name that is on your reservation.

Ours defaulted to our first names, which I only changed if one of us goes by something other than our full "official" first name (like Mike, instead of Michael). I like the idea of doing "fun" names though!

I think the name on the band is only so you can tell which band is yours, in case someone in your party has the same color band. It isn't for any official purpose, so you wouldn't need full names. If you lose it, it could probably be scanned by Disney personnel to find out who you are.

We did our normal names but a guy behind us at Big Thunder was addressed as "Thor."

Wish I would have thought of that.

We did fun names on our bands like DH is Darth Dad huge Star Wars fan he wanted daddy Darth but wouldn't fit, I put tinkerpea ds is Little G for little general! He rules the roost haha
