.....the closer you get to your trip, the more you are on these boards!!!!!!

DH and I are SO looking forward to our trip in 3 weeks. Our DD is 4 and really understands what Disney is about and constantly asks to go to Disney. I hope she understands that we will have to go home too!

Yes. Actually, I just found these boards this trip...I used to use another site. This is much better. However, when we get back in a few weeks...I may not be lurking until the next trip --or at least 6 months before.

Actually, I tend to be the opposite. I spend more time on the boards up until about 2 weeks prior to a trip. I think I start to get more focused on planning and creating lists and getting through the lists (to-dos) around that time period.

Being on the boards up to a year in advance of a trip really helps with the planning, anticipation, etc. It also greatly helps pass the time to the trip.

What a cute countdown poster for your daughter!

I made a much smaller one that is one the side of my refrigerator. Each morning I place a sticker in one of the squares, counting down the days! Yes, I know it is a "sickness" but I just can't help myself!!

I usually check in on the boards at least once a day to see what's going on right up to the time we leave. Repeat, "Yes, I know it is a "sickness" but I just can't help myself!"

Glad everyone around this neighborhood understands!

Just an aside from the topic, I love the pictures of your dog! In March my daughter adopted a greyhound, our "grandpuppy" Murphy (he's 2). They are such sweethearts and when we finally get our own house, we'll probably get one for our own!

I bought her a t-shirt for her birthday, it has the "Survivor" logo with the words "Outrun, Outlove, Outsleep" (perfect!)

After a trip (like last May) I'm burned out - I just can't handle one more "Five mug-hoppers in a room" thread! So I take a DIS break. But once i get 3-4 months out, I start reading again to see what's new, peaking at about a month away. Then I start to taper off, getting ready to trade the DIS for Disneyworld!

That's wonderful! There are so many out there retired from the track who need loving homes. They are such gentle, loving dogs, too....they are very low-maintenance, as well. We actually have two, they are 4 and 5 years old now. We adopted them when they were almost 3 and 4. I love them so much!
