Please don't redirect this message, I was not able to find the answers I needed...I am trying to find out if the Disney system will allow me to purchase a non hopper ticket for the first portion of a split stay, then with a day in between of no parks, buy park hopping tickets for the remainder of our split stay trip. This saves us money and I would think I would be able to do this but I want to make sure I won't have any problems or issues. Wondering if others have done this successfully, thanks!

Yes, you can do that, as long as each set of tickets is properly assigned to each leg of your split stay in your MDE reservation. What I am questioning is how that will save you money? The cost to add park hopping is a single add-on for the length of ticket, not a per day charge. $65 per ticket for 1-day tickets. $75 per ticket for 2 to 3-day tickets. $85 per ticket for 4 to 10-day tickets. Plus, it is almost always cheaper buying 1 longer multiple day ticket vs. buying 2 shorter length tickets for the same amount of days.

How many days will you be going? It usually doesn't end up saving money because the price per day decreases as the length of ticket (number of days) increases.
But yes, you can purchase tickets separately.

This does not save you money. This costs you significantly more.
