Park resort or other?

Park resort or other?

FINALLY finishing up meal prep for New Year's Day lunch tomorrow! Have to eat a little early since Katie and her "Barnett cousin" have to get to the airport for their flight to Disney World so wanted to get as much done today as possible. And now I'm waiting for my niece to Face Time me so I can watch the Disney New Year's fireworks LIVE! Super excited! They'll be "safely tucked away" in their room at the Contemporary but have the MK view so should be quite a show! They've had enough of the crowds today! 😁

Disney Springs? Shop?

I bet they have a great view of the fireworks.
Their New Years Eve fireworks are spectacular.

I need a NAP! Up at 5:45 am to get our Lightening Lane passes. WELL...what should have taken 2 minutes (we're only getting 2 single LL's) was an "I give up" at 7 am!:headache: Wouldn't accept my payment information and after entering a couple times my session would time out. After 6 TRIESn using 2 different credit cardsn I gave up and tried to go back to sleep...but couldn't 'cause I was so aggravated! :headache: Gave up at 9 and started lunch for the family; had to eat at 11:30 'cause Katie needed to leave for the airport...she and Anna (her cousin) are going to DW for a week. She flies back Thursday (the day we leave) and then flies out AGAIN on Friday with Sara. 😁 WELL...her cat got out of the house so they were delayed in getting here and while we were waiting David did his weekly check on his credit cards. Guess what...there were 6 PENDING CHARGES from WDW for LL passes :faint: ...when app kept telling me the transaction didn't go through. Allie arrived and she and I checked my app and mydisneyexperience but no listening of LL passes...even SHE was confused. Bottom line...had to call after lunch and all is taken care of. Wonder of wonders, I was STILL (8 hours later) able to get my #1 pick on times for Flight of Passage and Rise! :faint: Guess the marathon crowds aren't doing the parks as much as we thought they'd be...but I'll bet Disney Springs will be CRAZY! :rotfl: Yes...Joan had a great MK view from her room; Kate shared her room but the boys and their families were in the Garden Wings...so they all came up to the room to watch. Perfect view of both the lake AND MK fireworks going off at the same time! It was awesome. They're spending their last day in the parks today and start for home tomorrow so Katie & Anna won't get a chance to "cross paths" with them...they won't land at the airport until around 8 this evening. It's been a nice trip for them. Kate and Ryan got 1st seat on TRON and he was SO excited!

Food service?

I’m glad you got everything cleared up with you credit card. Not fun. I miss the old days of fast passes 😔 and they were free.

Oh boy do I miss them too! 😫 I absolutely HATE the "new way" and, of course, having to pay for it! Which is why I don't normally purchase them! BUT...since our time is so limited and David loves FoP and Rise I decided I'd do it this time so we wouldn't spend TOO much time in those lines. Allie's made our schedule so "tight" with the 3 table service reservations and we're pretty sure that's the only time we'll really get to spend with her since she'll have her college friends with her...and one of them has never been to Disney so there's a lot she wants to show her. I thought we'd do a park after the marathon but, after looking at her running schedule, and then lunch booked at 2:15 I'm pretty sure we're going to be WAY TOO exhausted to do anything after lunch other than go back to our resort and CRASH! (During the marathon we'll watch the beginning of the race at Epcot; monorail over to the MK until she runs through the park and then monorail back to Epcot. We'll take the Skyliner but, according to Allie, there will be separate, non-ticketed entries to get from the Skyliner to the front of the park where the race begins and ends.) We can eat dinner there too since the food is so good so we'll have some time to relax. Decided to go to the MK the day we arrive (we'll get to AoA around 1:30/2). We can take a little nap, if needed, (early morning flight...we'll have to leave Bellville at 4 AM) and go have dinner in MK, ride a few rides if lines aren't to long and finally see the nighttime parade. Had planned on spending that afternoon at Disney Springs but I can do a little shopping between our arrival after the marathon and lunch. It's nice to finally have some time to actually "plan"!

Is it part of a display or just part of the decor?
