Are you afraid of those exploding biscuit cans?

I have a quick story of my adventures with a biscuit can. One day I was walking out of the grocery with a full cart. On my way to the car I hear a loud POP. It scared the bageebees out of me. I'm like, oh my gawd! Then I see flying white disks all around me on the ground. The can exploded and shot biscuits everywhere. After the initial shock I thought if was very funny.

I had a craving for sausage, gravy & biscuits & got one of those cans. I hadn't opened one in years.

I jump everytime I open a can of biscuits or cinnamon rolls

Mine NEVER break. Seriously, they just don't want to ever cooperate with me. I always have to break it open on my knee after I peel the paper back!

When I was a camp counselor, we use to call them whomp biscuits because you had to "whomp" the can on a rock to open them. I always let one of the campers do it.

I love opening the can of biscuits. Usually I just smack it up against the counter and it opens but if it doesn't I just stick the knife in one of the line breaks and try to force it open.

The first time I gave my boyfriend a can to open he was all like how do I work this thing. I guess he has never opened a can of biscuits before!

Yep, I'm scared of exploding biscuit cans too. I grab a tiny edge of the paper and then I kind of shake it around so that the paper will unroll on its own and then I turn my head so I don't see it pop. If it doesn't open then I'll get my DF to press a spoon in the seam.

DH watches with mixed amusement and annoyance and says "just open the #%$&!@ already!" I don't know why he won't just open them himself- maybe he is secretly scared of the biscuit can too...

Mythbusters ran a few tests about exploding dough cans on one episode, and it was about the one in the car...unforutnately I watched it a long time ago and dont recall the exact results of the test.

I think our DH's may be in cahoots!!

They must have attended the same avoidance acadamy!!

My DH knows how much I fear opening one of those things yet everytime they need to be made,he stands there and watches with the same look on his face!

But I guess it's only fair to let him have what he learned at the "Avoidance Acadamy" because I got everything else at "The Wife is Always Right Acadamy" and my education there was far superior

Even better, my dogs are horrified of the things - everytime they hear a biscuit can pop, they run and hide in the bathroom. Who knew that 2 100lb dogs could be such babies?
