Are you afraid of those exploding biscuit cans?

Try a cheap generic can. I got one of those & it did not have an auto-pop. I placed it on the counter as far away from me as I could, cringed, turned my head away, closed my eyes & tried to find the seam with a looong spoon. :rotfl2:

I'm sorry. This thread is making me want to take cover under the computer desk!!

I LOVED those cans... just mad that they make them auto-pop now though. Fond memories of fighting with my brother over who gets to press the spoon on the seam.

They're "auto-pop" now??? I threw a can away because I thought it had gone bad because it popped open right when I took the paper off. DUH!!

I was there with my iced tea spoon, ready to close my eyes, stab and duck!!
NO biscuits for us that day!

This thread makes me chuckle! :rotfl2:
The visualizations alone are priceless!

My mom used to whack it on the counter. No fun.

I like the sound and surprise pop you get when you open it. :teeth:

i must be sadistic to like to be scared. :sad2:

I always turn my head and close my eyes when I pull the paper off!! I hate it when sometimes they don't pop right away and then you have to hit it on the counter a few times. :goodvibes

See, I don't like the whole anticipatory aspect of it. I start cringing as soon as i take the biscuits out of the fridge. Poor biscuits. If they had feelings, their poor little feelings would be all hurt, I think.

Oh I absolutley hate that. I usually have to take a knife to them (probably not a good idea since I jump 3 feet ;) )

I wonder what jerk invented these, seriously someone may have a heartattack :p

I love them! But I was also the one who used to crack the hard boiled egg on my forehead, so I'm probably not the one to ask. :rotfl:

Don't mean to interupt. Just wanted to say Thanks Tag Fairy!

Whenever I make these, I turn the music on really loud in my kitchen, and then open the can slowly. I never know what to expect. Sometimes it pops open when you peel the label off. Other times you have to bang it on the counter. It is the UNCERTAINTY of it all. It helps though if there is a lot of background noise like the radio or tv. :thumbsup2

I came up with a nifty way to out smart the biscuits.
ALl you need is a kitchen towel.
Get the can started, cover it with a towel, and keep pulling it.
The can pops, but it's covered, it's a lot less scary.
Otherwise, I would never be able to eat biscuits again.
Cause they scare me too much.
I am glad I am not the only one.

I can't even bang the can on the counter...I have to stand back and throw it against the backsplash. Lord help me if it doesn't pop on the first try.

Boy, the tag fairy likes this thread!

I wish I could think of something witty to say, so I could perhaps get another tag, but I'm plumb out of wit tonight.

It does kind of scare me too- I don't have them that often, but now I am wanting biscuits, eggs, sausage and some hash browns! Bring on the starch!

Dr Ray Stantz: I couldn't help it. It just popped in there.
Dr. Peter Venkman: [angrily] What? *What* "just popped in there?"
Dr Ray Stantz: I... I... I tried to think...
Dr. Egon Spengler: LOOK!
[they all look over one side of the roof]
Dr Ray Stantz: No! It CAN'T be!
Dr. Peter Venkman: What is it?
Dr Ray Stantz: It CAN'T be!
Winston Zeddemore: What did you DO, Ray?
Dr Ray Stantz: Oh, Sugar! (edited for content)[they all see a giant cubic white head topped with a sailor hat, Peter looks at Ray]
Dr Ray Stantz: [somberly] It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

It's no wonder you all are so afraid of the pillsbury cans. UnCANny resemblance don't ch-a think? :teeth:

BTW, Thank you Tag Fairy! I was so busy laughing over the thread & celebrating the tag, I just realized I didn't thank you properly before. :love2:

Congrats on the tag!

As far as the biscuits are concerned....I LOVE them!! I enjoy the whole Jack-In-the-Box sensation. Will it pop? Will I need to press on it with a spoon? There have even been times when it didn't pop and I didn't use a spoon, either....yep! I used my thumbnail! :scared1: :faint: :scared:

:lmao: No, I like it. I peel the paper back and darn it never pops for me. Then I take my thumb and press hoping it will POP! If it doesn't then I bang it on the counter.:rotfl:
