Are you a REAL Blonde?

I'm another one who was born a platinum blonde, which turned to a strawberry blonde, then back to platinum again. It started getting darker when I was around 9-10 years old. Then I was a "dirty blonde" shade. My hair continued to get darker as I aged and had kids for some reason. I also have blue eyes, at least they never changed colors on me!

I'm actually becomming blonder as I get older without any dying or highlighting or anything at all. When I was little, I was a brunette, but now I'm completely blonde at 36.

Then it dawned on me....maybe that's NOT BLONDE! Maybe....it's WHITE!

Manged to pass on very blonde hair and blue eyes to one of my boys, so we're good for another generation at least.

My hair darkened a lot as I got older to the point where it's more brown than blonde now. I do have the blue eyes though!

Was born a blonde, was a blonde child, does that count?? now I've hightlighted and colored for so many years not sure what my color is Speaking of gene and hair coloring strange but my generation seems to be all having redheads, my brother, my cousins and they themselves are either blonde or brunette. My brother and his wife both brunettes, their daughter is a light redhead, almost strawberry blonde, beautiful! My other 1st cousin who is a brunette had a real redheaded child, and my other cousin who is a blonde and husband a very dark brunette also had a real redheaded child, none of their parents with red hair.

As a hairdresser I see very few "real blondes". But I "make" a lot of them!!

Personally, in the case of the study, I would say a real blonde is someone who was born blonde...we are the "gene carriers" of the color.

1 October 2002 -- In response to recent media reports citing an alleged World Health Organization (WHO) study predicting the extinction of the naturally blonde hair gene, WHO wishes to clarify that it has never conducted research on this subject. Nor, to the best of its knowledge, has WHO issued a report predicting that ‘natural blondes are likely to be extinct by 2202’. WHO has no knowledge of how these news reports originated but would like to stress that we have no opinion on the future existence of blondes.

Was watching a show tonight and the premise of the story was that the gene that makes you blonde is slowly disappearing. The story goes on to say that REAL BLONDES will be extinct by 2203.

I have definitely learned a lot about genetics; I HAD to since so many people ask us how on earth our kids got the red hair, especially since my DH has brown hair.

All blondes here but DH( Blonde and blue) is a bit more gray now!! DDS are blonde -DD1 brown eyes DD2 blue. and we ahve lots of freckles or angel kisses as we call them!

I was born with blonde hair and blue/green eyes. As I got older, my hair turned strawberry blonde and then really dark. Now it's sort of salt and pepper. My kids both have greenish eyes. DD was born with darker hair, but it all fell out and came back in blonde. Now that she's a teenager, it's getting darker again. DS's was blonde and still is pretty light.
