Are you a native?

Yep, multiple generation Florida native dating back to before the Civil War. I may be one of the rarest humans on the planet. :)

Born and raised (well, actually I was born across the river in I -O- Way ;:)
here. So yep, native. Live only about 20 miles from my original home.
Illinoian too :)

Born and raised in NJ.
I live one town over from where I lived as a kid. Moved here when I married my husband. My husband not only is from this town, he's never even left his childhood home-that's where we live now.

It is rare for me to meet people that moved to NJ from any other state other than NY. I do meet people who moved from other countries to NJ, but usually not another state.
The vast majority of people I know are born and bred New Jerseyans. We know a good thing when we see it, we stay put.;)

You are, indeed, a rare bird. Since moving to Florida, I could count on both hands the number of folks actually born and raised in Florida. Most are transplants, like me.

I live in Mass.
Moved to the next town over when I got married.
Now living in the same house I grew up in..:)

I had 2 of my kids at the hospital I was born at AND I live about 2 miles from the house I grew up in. Im a Wisconsinite thru and thru...though on days like today (40-below windchills) Arizona looks darn good to me!!
:beach:

Lifelong Texan. I've lived in three central Texas towns, all within an hour of each other.

I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life. Born and raised on Cape Cod, went to college at UMASS Amherst, lived and worked in Boston after college, and now live northwest of Boston near Nashua, NH. I love it here, love the seasons and I love the town I'm in.

My sig says it all. Always lived in Maine, I did move 100 miles further into the state when I got married. Now we live in my husband's home town, about 1/2 mile from the house he grew up in.

Pats Mom-I was born and raised in a city in southern NH. So I am a native of New Hampshire. But I now live in northern NH and as far as the people in my town are concerned, I am not a native of the town although I am a definite step up from those who moved here from out of state. I am allowed to be a "local" since I spent a lot of time here growing up. But I'll never be a native!

I understand that very well-around here it's "transplant"! Nothing wrong with them, either, just as long as they don't try to push themselves off as natives. For me, I am a native, but not a local!

Nope, my family still has the land my great, great grand daddy owned before he was in the Civil War and when my granny died in Oct '07 I was left some of the land to carry onto my daughter. It was told that the soliers marched though this land before the battle at Bentonville Battleground. So my roots are here.

I still live in the neighborhood where I was born and raised. My DD even went to the same elementry school that I did.

I've moved around a lot.

Born and raised in Chicago, currently an NYC-er!

I live in an area where it's very unusual for anyone to be a native since there's a heavy transient population....in other words I live in Montgomery County Maryland right outside of DC and am proud to say that except for the first three months of my life and time at college I've never lived in any other place but Montgomery County.....In fact I even live in the house I grew up now since my parents deaths a couple years ago....My DH is also a native of this county.....and my dad was and his dad is a native Washingtonian....the only non-natives in both our families are/were our moms...his is from NH and mine was from NC.

DH and myself were both born in Northern Kansas (Me 10 miles from the Nebraska stateline, DH about 60 miles from the Nebraska stateline) we now both live in Southern Kansas, less than an hour from the Oklahoma stateline. DH moved here in 1976 and I moved here in the 60's when my dad went to work for the state.

My DH, DD. and myself are all Ventura County (southern CA) natives, which of course is rare in CA.

I moved all over (9 schools in 9 years) as a Navy brat

My family moved to Boise almost 18 years ago, and here natives are about 60 % of the population.

I'm a Mainer, through and through. I don't live where I grew up, though. DH and I went to college 100 miles from home, and I got a job near there, so this is where we settled. We like it here, but some residents of our town still look at us as "outsiders", though we've been here almost 7 years.

Born in Portland, and have lived most of my life here. I've also lived in a couple other cities for short periods of time, but always in Oregon.

I am a native of Florida, if you can believe that. lol, I worked customer service for a CC for several years. One night I had this sweet lady ask me where I was from, I told her Florida, she said no honey where orignally are you you from, again I said Florida, No honey where were you born, Florida, she giggled and said I didn't think anybody was actually born in Florida. and she really believed that, she was so cute.

I grew up about an hour from where we live now so I am a native. That is extremely rare in this area where most people are from somewhere else.
