Are we there yet? Can we eat yet? YES to both!

That's exactly how I feel! And now, he wants her back, and she is resisting, bc she's still hurt.
:confused3

Good for her. I hope he straightens up. LOL!

You guys got so much done. I would love to be a rope drop person, but my family wants to sleep....and Claire needs it. If she doesn't get enough we ALL pay, so it's just not worht it. I figure when she gets older we can do all the early stuff.

I'm with you. MEN!!!!

Glad to hear that Jacob enjoyed Soarin' (see dad, you don't know what you are talking about).

:rotfl2: My thoughts exactly!

you could always TRY to make your own
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/curry-recipes/easy-homemade-curry-pastes

Good Luck! I have never tried anything with curry paste in it; so, I have never looked in the stores...seems a Rouse's should carry it?!? do you guys have one in the area?

I don't think I'm quite adventurous enough to attempt that! I love to cook ,but sadly, I'm not that great at it. Chris is the cook in the family. I think there's a Rouses in Kenner, I know there's one in Metairie. I wonder if Whole Foods would have it?

I'm thinking when we go next year, we might sleep in a bit. As much as I loved our trip this year, I did NOT come home feeling refreshed! :)

Deshea came to our house Saturday night, apparently they came to an "agreement", whatever that means. I haven't had a chance to talk to her to get the scoop.

Coral Reef!

IMG_3381.jpg

We got to the Coral Reef right on time. We got one of these and sat down to wait.

IMG_3364.jpg

Chris used the restroom and came out and told me, “Baby! Go in the bathroom, they have fish tanks in there!” I said, “No way” and ran to the ladies. Obviously, there are no fish tanks in the bathroom. I came back out, and he was doubled over, red faced, having a hysterical laughing fit. Not funny.

We only waited about 6 or 7 minutes until they called us. We were shown into the dining room, and down one tier to the middle section. It was an excellent location, right up against the railing with nothing impeding our view of the aquariums. I couldn't take many pics of the windows, bc of the lighting in there. I want to say that I had heard terrible things about the noise level here. We found it to be quite nice, and mellow. Maybe because it was the first seating of the day? The restaurant is very pretty, and I found the décor to be very relaxing.

We had a really nice waitress whose name I didn't write down. She was so helpful and sweet, and completely on top of refills, requests, etc. She was one of my favorite servers of the trip.

We got these sourdough rolls to start, and fresh butter: They were really good, and hot.

Jacob ordered the steak, with fries subbed for the potatoes. Chris got the steak with the Horseradish Potatoes, which he claims were the best mashed potatoes he has EVER EVER eaten. Seriously, how can you mess up mashed taters? I had… Pork tenderloin with glazed root veggies, and polenta cake. This was SO good. It was tender and juicy and the veggies were just right. I liked the polenta cake too, this was the first time I’d ever had it. There was some sort of brown sauce on it, that I think had raisins in it. It was delish. Chris LOVED his steak, and ate every single bite, plus the taters and his and Jacob’s asparagus. Deshea had a Chicken Caesar salad, which was just a salad. It had a Parmesan crisp on it, which was the only thing that made it different from other Chicken Caesar Salads.

For dessert, we got three Chocolate Waves, and a Cheesecake Napoleon. I have no idea why Chris ordered the cheesecake. He doesn’t even like cheesecake. Maybe he wanted to be different.

IMG_3379.jpg

So. The Chocolate Wave. I had heard about this over and over from other TR’s and was dying to try it. Well, it was good. But angels did not sing. It was kind of a let down after all they hype. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, but I expected… more. The Cheesecake was good, but the crispy thing on top was kind of weird. Is that the Napoleon part?

This was a great meal, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. It’s on my list of ressies to make for next December. I would recommend anyone try it.

I was glad to read that you enjoyed Coral Reef. We've eaten there several times and it's always been great.

Sounds like Coral Reef was a winner for you guys! all the pictures look so yummy!
and that was LOL! funny when he got you with the restroom; but, I have to say I would not have been amused if it were me!
have a great day!
:santa:

I was SO not amused, especially since the other people waiting figured out what was going on, and THEY were laughing at me too!

I like Coral Reef also. Glad you had such a nice meal there.

I was a little concerned with all the negative reviews, but I'm glad we went with it!

Mmmm the coral reef looks delicious...glad you guys enjoyed it!

This was one of our faves of our entire trip, i thought the food was fantastic.

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Yummmmm, your food from Coral Reef looks and sounds delicious. I have hesitated to make that ADR because we aren't big on seafood, but your choices are exactly what we would order!

I find myself re-thinking my Feb/March ADRs every single day. :rotfl:

I hope the kids figured out a good "agreement" and that everyone is doing alright.

Looks like you guys had a nice meal. The last time that I ate at the Coral Reef, I was a little underwhelmed, but I would go back.

YUM! I have that on my list to go to as well. I need to go about 2 weeks though to fit every place in. LOL!

After Coral Reef, we were STUFFED. We couldn't decide what to do, so we thought we might hit Magic Kingdom for awhile. Deshea still hadn’t ridden Big Thunder, and that’s her favorite ride. So we grabbed the monorail, (we got the new Tron one!), and headed over to MK.

IMG_3397.jpg

We walked in, and I swear, I have never seen so many people in one place in all my life. It was CRAZY. We grabbed the railroad to Frontierland ..

IMG_3402.jpg

IMG_3403.jpg

The waits for Big Thunder and Splash were well over an hour. We got right back on that train, and left the park. I snapped this pic on the way past..

IMG_3411.jpg

The kids looked tired, and Jacob had been having this cold that just hung on for weeks, so they decided they wanted to take a nap.

IMG_3414.jpg

Chris and I changed, and went down to the pool. We decided that we wanted to go to Epcot that night for Illuminations, which I had never seen.

After our swim and hot tub soak, we headed back to the room to change. I went to take my meds, and couldn't find them. Apparently they had fallen out of the backpack sometime that day! We tore up the room looking, just in case, but no pills. Side story – when I came in 2007, I had the flu. I had to find a CVS to have my Dr. call in some meds for me. I went to the nearest CVS, only to find that there was NO PHARMACY. It was only a drugstore! So, remembering this, I got online and found the next nearest CVS, and called to confirm that they indeed did have a pharmacy. I got the sweetest lady in the pharmacy, who listened to my problem, and said that she could sell them to me for 79.99, but she would try to get a “Vacation Override” from my insurance company to save me some money.

Chris and I got in the car, typed the address in the GPS and headed out. It was only about 12 minutes away, and when we got there, the lady told me that the insurance co. had approved the override, and I only had to pay my $7.00 copay! I was SOOO happy! That’s a lot of souvenir money we saved!

You might wonder why I told this boring story, but I promise it has a point – this whole situation was worth it because……

On our way back to the hotel, we saw…

THIS!

gate2.jpg

I can’t express how happy I was to actually see it! I think I may have teared up or something.

So, the kids were gone somewhere when we got back. I can’t remember where they went, and its not in my notes.

We grabbed the first bus for Epcot, and went straight to my new fave ride.. Test Track! With single rider line, we managed to ride twice in a row.

We were getting pretty hungry at this point, so we decided to look for dinner. I had been wanting to try Seasons, or whatever its called, so we headed over there. This place was DESERTED. I thought maybe it was closed, but it wasn’t, thankfully!

I got a Chicken Caesar salad, which was VERY fresh and yummy, the chicken was seasoned and grilled, and just delish. I got the Strawberry Shortcake for dessert, which I really really was looking forward to. OMG. It was sooo good, and fresh, like they had just made it. I could have eaten six more pieces.

IMG_3429.jpg

IMG_3428.jpg

Chris got some sort of Rotisserie chicken, with rice and beans. He said it was ok, but didn't come CLOSE to the one he had at Fairfax Fare earlier in the trip. He got Key Lime Pie, which he said was pretty good, but not his fave of the trip.

IMG_3427.jpg

After we ate, we headed over to World Showcase to watch Illuminations. It was sooo beautiful and the music was awesome. Sorry for the lack of pics, but again, my camera takes HORRIBLE night pics.

After Illuminations, we headed back to the hotel to bed. We were VERY tired. The kids were just getting back from the food court, they had gone back to Magic Kingdom, and then to the food court for dinner. I believe they both had the personal pizza, and both said it was just ok. We all turned in, I wanted to be at rope drop at Hollywood Studios the next day!

Yah for another update:goodvibes

That is crazy that MK was that busy, but at least you got a ride on the tronorail.

Dinner at Sunshine seasons looks awesome...especially the strawberry shortcake

Can't wait for more

Oh, the strawberry shortcake at Sunshine Seasons is really awesome! I had it for the first time last year, and it was great!

I"m enjoying your trip report. My stepson is 14 and he's always being silly too. Not many pics of him without a silly or weird face. As he gets older he gets funnier and funnier. I love it! So when I see and hear stories about other teenage boys, I enjoy them.:goodvibes

We ate at Sunshine Season's last trip and loved it. Shannon and I both had the rotisseried pork chop that was absolutely delicious.

YUM! That food looks good. I haven't eaten there in over 10 years. It was differently set up back then too. (before Soarin was in there) I keep hearing how great the strawberry shortcake is there.

fun update to end the day!
I hope Deesha was able to ride BTMRR on their trip back. Sunshine seasons has always been a favorite of ours, but I have never had the Strawberry shortcake and boy does that look heavenly! sounds like you guys had a wonderful day!
looking forward to hearing if you make it for the ropedrop...
have a great day!
