Are we there yet? Can we eat yet? YES to both!

We love sunshine seasons for counter service meals!

We will definetly return!

I"m enjoying your trip report. My stepson is 14 and he's always being silly too. Not many pics of him without a silly or weird face. As he gets older he gets funnier and funnier. I love it! So when I see and hear stories about other teenage boys, I enjoy them.:goodvibes

He totally had a blast, and provided the comic relief for the whole trip!

We ate at Sunshine Season's last trip and loved it. Shannon and I both had the rotisseried pork chop that was absolutely delicious.

Oh, I saw that! But I knew I was getting the SScake, so I went with salad. :confused3

YUM! That food looks good. I haven't eaten there in over 10 years. It was differently set up back then too. (before Soarin was in there) I keep hearing how great the strawberry shortcake is there.

You HAVE to try it.. :lovestruc

fun update to end the day!
I hope Deesha was able to ride BTMRR on their trip back. Sunshine seasons has always been a favorite of ours, but I have never had the Strawberry shortcake and boy does that look heavenly! sounds like you guys had a wonderful day!
looking forward to hearing if you make it for the ropedrop...
have a great day!

Hi!
It was a great day, lost pills and all. :lmao:

Working on next update - Hollywood Studios day, and Fantasmic!

I'm home from my trip and just got caught up on your trip report! Don't you love Sunshine Seasons?? The Chinese food is really good, too. I had beef with broccoli on our last trip and spicy chicken on this trip - both were very tasty! I did have a little disappointment though... when we went last May I got a Butterfinger cheesecake there that was the best cheesecake ever! I was totally psyched to get it again! and... they didn't have it :sad1: I wanted to say to the girl behind the counter "No! You have to have it! Go get me a slice!" But I refrained and had the plain cheesecake instead. It was good, but still a big letdown.

Oh, also, DH and I ate at Coral Reef for the first time! I also had the steak and mashed potatoes and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip! The steak was cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were EXCELLENT, the asparagus was a little undercooked, but I like asparagus so it didn't bother me too much. I was a little disappointed with the chocolate wave also, in fact, most of my desserts were a bit disappointing. I'm wondering though if I was too full after every meal to really enjoy the desserts, lol! DH and I did free dining this trip. I love the concept of the dining plans, but 2 desserts after each meal is probably one too many for us!

I'm in! Late, but I read all the way through! I'm enjoying it.

I have almost the same car air freshener as you! :rotfl2: Mine is all black, it looks like yours is the half black/half gold one.

I love CBR! I stayed there in 2006, before the pool and room renovations. I stayed in Aruba and thought it was a good location just across the bridge from OPR.

I've heard that Sunshine Seasons uses food that is growing in the pavilion. Not sure how true it is, but I've had that salad before and it was also very fresh!

Isn't that strawberry shortcake heavenly?!?! Looooooooove it. Your salad looked delish.

So glad you got to see Illuminations! :yay:

We are soooooo going back to Coral Reef next trip! And Sunshine seasons! Gotta have that SScake!

Agreed on the 2 desserts, it is a bit much.

Welcome! I've had that air freshener since... christmas of 09 I think. Deshea actually gave it to me, and I don't have the heart to throw it out, even tho it's def on it's last leg! I love CBR too, but really want to try something new next year... Still undecided on exactly what tho!

It was sooooo good. I had to stop myself from looking at the pics, I'm on a mission to lose a few holiday lbs!

To all: Sorry I havent updated, work has been crazy, plus the holidays, but I am working on it and should have it up soon!

The next day was our designated Hollywood Studios day. I was determined to catch all the shows I wanted to see.

IMG_3475.jpg

After starting off our day with yet ANOTHER muffin and bagel, Chris and I were at HS about an hour before rope drop. We were the first ones at the turnstiles, so we sat down, drank some coffee, and I worked on my notes. The kids were going to meet us later on, they wanted to sleep in.

IMG_3224.jpg

As soon as the park opened, Chris headed over to RockNRollercoaster, while I got Fast Passes for RnRC for the kids to use when they got there. Right after that, he rode Tower of Terror with no wait time!

IMG_3228.jpg

After that, we just walked around for a while, taking in the sights and sounds and smells. We did check out One Man’s Dream, which never ceases to amaze me. I could look in there for hours.

About an hour later, the kids showed up and used the FP’s. Then it was time to head over to Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater for our early lunch!

We only waited about five minutes. But while we were sitting outside the restaurant, this kamikaze squirrel came over and was stalking us. Apparently there was an acorn or something under my foot that he REALLY wanted. I’m pretty sure he nipped at my toes! Luckily I was wearing sneakers that day! I had a pic of the lil guy, but it seems to be lost. L

IMG_3482.jpg

I don’t have interior pics of this one, bc of the light, but I DO have FOOD pics!

We all ordered Strawberry Milkshakes and Burgers here.

IMG_3489.jpg

IMG_3492.jpg

The milkshakes were, no doubt, the best I’ve had ever. I wish my local McDonalds would make them like that!

The burger was DELISH, also the best burger on property, if you ask me. Jacob ate so many burgers, but even he claimed this one the best.

Our waitress was SUPER sweet, she sat on the hood of our car while taking our order, and took a pic of us, that sadly didn't come out.

The kids didn't want dessert, so Chris got the hot fudge sundae, and I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter cake that I had seen on other’s reports.

IMG_3495.jpg

IMG_3494.jpg

Chris LOVED his sundae, and ate every bite and may have even licked the glass.

The CPB cake was good, but it wasn’t warm, and would have been much improved if the cake had been warm. I might get this again, I’m not sure.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I love the food, the atmosphere, the cheesy movies, the whole thing. We are definitely going back here next winter.

After we rolled our behinds out of there, we headed over to Lights! Motors! Action!. This was one of Chris’s faves last trip, and he really wanted Jacob to see it.

We strolled up right in time to catch the next show! We had excellent seats, about halfway up the stands.

This my favorite pic, bc the stunt guy is in mid-fall:

We will definitely return to see this show again and again. :thumbsup2

After the show was over, we filed out with the other hundred million people in there. Just kidding. But it felt like that many.

I wanted to see Indiana Jones, so Chris and I went that way, and the kids went to ride ToT again, and we would meet up for Fantasmic.

We got seated and we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally the show started. Ten minutes in, Jacob texted and said the line for Fantasmic was ALREADY a mile long, and that we should get there right away!

We ducked out of Indy, and headed over to Fantasmic. Jacob was NOT kidding. There must have been 10,000 people there. It was madness. They had the ropes up, herding everyone like cattle. We got in and got seated, and I’m pretty sure we waited over an hour and a half for the show to start. We made multiple trips to the restroom and the snack vendors, and then played UNO until show time.

Here’s a few pics I did get of the show:

Upon exiting, there were THREE TIMES as many people in line for the second show! :scared1:

It occurs to me that, compared to other TR’s, my pictures suck. I solemnly promise to all my readers to take a better camera and more pics next trip. :thumbsup2

After the show, we went back to the hotel to chill. My knees and ankles were about to give up on me, and I took pity on them and soaked in the hot tub. We had dinner from the food court, which was the NASTIEST thing we ate the whole trip. I am never wasting a counter credit on Food Court food again.

After that, it was bedtime for me, and Chris watched a movie. The next day was Whispering Canyon for lunch, and Animal Kingdom day!

Sounds like a fun day!
and you have great pics...thanks for sharing!
so what did Jacob think of Fantasmic...Dayne's friend thought that was the BEST part of his entire visit at WDW...it was funny because each time he would do something he would say that, until Fantasmic

I could go for that milkshake, and hotfudge sunday right about now. Probably has to do with me dieting...and I NEED sugar! LOL! But I need to lose 20lbs before the trip, so I gotta keep at it. ( I can't beleive how I let myself add that extra weight)
I like your pictures. You are cutting yourself down for nothing.

Great TR! So fun to hear about everything you did! And don't worry about the quality of your pictures- yours are probably better then mine!

Thanks for sharing!!

I'm really enjoying reading your trip report! My daughter and I ate at the Sci-Fi last year and I can't wait to take my husband on our trip in March! We always love HS, your pictures look beautiful-looks like the weather was perfect! Thanks for a great report!

I was also very disappointed with the choc/pb cake. Mine was not warm either. Don't know if I got a dud or what. I would not order it again :(

Thanks! Jacob liked it, but I thought he'd be more impressed. LOL. It's hard to impress teenagers.

I totally understand. I got some holiday pounds going on right now, that really need to be GONE! ;) And thanks for saying that about my pics.

Glad you like it! Working on the next update now.. Our last full Disney day.. :sad1:

It was the most beautiful weather we could have asked for! We are going to do early december next year though, bc of the crowd levels towards Thanksgiving.

I find that MK and HS have the most interesting things to take pics of, for some reason. Maybe its all the colors, idk.

I was also very disappointed with the choc/pb cake. Mine was not warm either. Don't know if I got a dud or what. I would not order it again :(

I agree. I might have that sundae instead!

I hate to tell you that the chocolate peanut butter cake is definitely yummo when it's warm. Our's was warm when we got it in May.

I am soooo stealing your idea of taking a deck of UNO cards to Disney. What a great way to pass the time while waiting for shows.

I've read mixed review of that Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake, but man! it sure looks delicious! I agree with you on the shakes -they are incredible. 50's Prime Time knows how to make 'em too. :thumbsup2

However, out of all things food in your update-I want the fries! Yum.

I think your pictures are great! The one of the guy falling at LMA is a perfect shot!

Okay, ya talked me into it! :lmao: I'll give the cake another shot!

Oh I love me some fries!

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on the pic, that's one of my faves.

I enjoyed your update. DHS is my least favorite of the 4 parks, so it's always interesting to see another person's perspective on it.

I find that MK and HS have the most interesting things to take pics of, for some reason. Maybe its all the colors, idk.

It's funny you say this. I like taking pictures in MK, it's classic. But my favorite parks to take pictures in are Epcot and AK - the exact opposite of you!

Hi, finally caught up. Had been off the boards, I was in a" I'm home form Disney funk", but just booked yesterday for Mardi Gras so I am back and loving your Coral Reef pics and that Sunshine Seasons looks good too.
Did your son and his girlfriend get back together yet? Loving your report.

 How are things? are you enjoying our winter weather? hope things are going well!

Hey y'all... Sorry for no update yet, we are all sick with the bronchitis and sinusitis, me, Chris and my little guy. Just trying to get better. :)

LTB@D, If I wasn't sick, I might be liking it, but just now, I'd have to say no! I stay on the sofa in front of the fireplace as much as possible!

3boys, I am SOO jealous that you are going again for MG! I wish we were. WE are going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge 2/17 to 2/21, for our anniversary, so that's something to look forward to!

Jacob and Deshea did not get back together. It looked like they were going to, and then... it didn't happen. I think he's having the blues about graduation, and his "teen" life being over, and "real" life looming ahead. Teenagers, huh?

I'll get an update out as soon as I can, I'm catching up with work, trying to get us all better, etc..

Have a great Friday!

Take your time and home you feel better:hug:. Seems everyone is going through the same (the little girl I watch has had a mild touch of it and her mom has been really fighting it).
