Are we there yet? Can we eat yet? YES to both!

I want that Christmas tree! It's so pretty.

Yay for getting seated early at Rainforest. The food pictures are making me super duper hungry and it's not even 11 a.m. yet.

your room looks very comfy for the four of you and the resort looks very nice...sounds like you were in a great place for transportation (that is what I always try to accomadate after a long day it is nice not to have to walk all over the resort to your room.

I LOVE that Animal Kingdom tree....which I was crafty enough to try and copy that with homemade ornaments...

Hey, looking forward to your report.Haven't been on here all week. At the end of the trip me and my youngest came down with a nasty cold, we are still fighting it. I'm going to look for myself in your pics.:). Hope ya'll had a great time. I'm thinking about taking my kids back for Mardi Gras. Have you ever been at that time?

Wow the christmas tree at Ak is stunning....great pics of it!

I love the Rainforest Cafe and your food looks delicious!!

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

On my 1st WDW trip, we missed going under the gate & I was so disappointed!
We stayed at CBR in Sept & stayed in Martinique bldg.
I loved your 1st day pics. The Christmas decorations look so pretty.
The AK Christmas tree looks pretty cool too!
Those nachos look YUM!
What exactly is a cast appreciation card?

Hi! I love that tree too, we have a Charlie Brown tree this year, about 2.5 ft tall. LOL. Those Disney trees put my lil tree to shame!

I looked for you! I checked out every family with three boys, but the ages weren't right! I'm so sorry you got sick! We went at Mardi Gras in 07, I think it fell really early, like the first week of Feb, it was very low crowds, but quite chilly a few of the days..

I'm going under that gate next time! Even if its the long way around!

Cast member appreciation cards - small index cards that we decorated with colored markers, and small stickers, we put "Our Family Appreciates You" on one side, and the date on the other side. I got them at office depot, they are about 3" x 3" maybe, and came in 4 or 5 pretty colors. We gave out about a dozen, to the CMs that made our trip magical. They LOVED them!

Good Morning, Y'all.

Well, my three year old laptop has given out. I"m in the process of uploading my pics to Chris's laptop so I can continue my TR. Thank God I didn't delete my pics off my memory cards!

Ill have an update soon! Happy Monday!

Great tr! I hate to hear that about your laptop. You are smart to keep the pics on the memory card. Looking forward to reading more.

So sorry to hear your laptop died but at least you did not lose your pics from the trip.

Funny you said you think AK never seems busy cause it is my least favorite park, seems when we are there it has always been very crowded and hotter than the other parks.

You guys went to MK on the right day that is for sure, I am not a roller coaster person either, I have not rode EE don't think I ever will or RnR coaster and I have done Splash Mt and Space Mt only one time each, TOT I did twice only the second time because of a dare LOL

Hopefully will have another installment this evening!

The only time it was hot when we were there was our first day, MK day, we got stuck behind a parade, and were right under the sun. However, the humidity was LOW so it wasn't too bad.

I tell you what, I got spoiled by the no waits on MK day! It made me cranky every time we had to wait in a line after that!

I used the chicken exit more than once.. ok, more than twice.. this trip, I just really wanted to check out the queues! (Is that spelled right?) I love Splash, will go on Space when coerced, but no EE or ToT or RnRC for me!
Too bad there's no chicken icon. :lmao:

Signing up. :)
That egg, cheese and ham croissant looks delicious and it was very sweet of you to hand out CM appreciation cards. What a thoughtful idea!

Cannot wait to read more,

Chris and I, being early risers, were both awake at 5:30. Since nothing was going on at this time of the morning, we decided to go down to the spa and soak for awhile until the kids got up and moving around. We had noticed a sign that said the pool was open 24 hours.

We quietly got dressed and made our way down to the big pool area. There was no one around at all, it was just getting light out , the resort was soooo peaceful.

Unfortunatley, when we got to the pool area, a CM approached us and told asked if we were headed to the spa. When we said yes, she told us she was sorry, but they were cleaning the pool and spa. :sad2: We hung around until 6:30 when Old Port Royale opened, grabbed a muffin and bagel and went back to the room to get ready for the day.

When we got back, we got the kids up and ready and headed to the bus stop for Hollywood Studios!

Jacob tried on some silly hats while we watited.

IMG_3214.jpg

We made it for rope drop, and Deshea and I went over to RnRC to get FastPasses, and the boys went into the Five n Dime, to get Jacob's first set of Mickey Ears! He asked for my lanyard, too, and wouldn't say why.

They met up with us at ToT, the wait was 13 minutes.

IMG_3228.jpg

We couldn't wait to see Jacob's reaction, on this one. I went thru the queue with them and through the room with Rod. I got escorted at this point down a rather creepy elevator with a rather creepy CM. I was dumped in the area where you can look at your ride pics to wait. Thier pic came up before they exited, and Jacob had one arm through his Dad's, his other hand gripping Deshea for dear life, and his mouth open in a scream. :rotfl: It was SOOO funny. I wanted the pic, but can't bring myself to spend all that money on a single picture.

So they came out, laughing and giggling, and I asked Jacob if he wanted to do it again. He laughed and said, uhhhh, not right now!

On to RocknRoller Coaster! This is Chris’s second favorite ride. It’s also another I won’t do, because it goes upside down, and this girl DOES NOT.

IMG_3236.jpg

They all went on, and I chatted with a lady from Baton Rouge. I noticed her son had a Raisin’ Cane’s shirt on, which for ya’ll that don’t know, is a local chicken tenders restaurant. She, like me, doesn’t do many of the thrill rides either. Eventually my family came out, all grins again.

After this, we went back to the Five n Dime to get Jacob’s ears!

Chris had gotten my lanyard embroidered with my name and little Mickey’s! It was so cute!

I really wanted to see the Muppet show, since I came up with the Muppets. I could tell the kids weren’t enthused, but hey, this was my vacation too, right??!!

IMG_3249.jpg

IMG_3248.jpg

I love this show so much. Its sooooo corny, but it’s a little piece of my childhood, and I never miss it. I couldn’t find the key and mat that everyone talks about. As usual, I had a great time, and the kids were kind of just.. Tolerating it.

Next up was the Backlot Tour. I snapped a few pics on the way..

Now, I don’t really love the Backlot Tour, but Chris and Jacob enjoyed the movie props that we saw, and it was funny when we got to Catastrophe Canyon and Jacob had no idea what was going to happen.

Here’s some pics from TBT.

Up next, Starring Rolls, Fairfax Fare, AND Rosie's All American!

Lunchtime!

By this time, we were STARVED. I had been planning to go to Starring Rolls for lunch, and had heard that sometimes they sell out of things. I had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake on my mind, after seeing so many pics of it!

We made our way over to the other side of the park. The kids weren’t interested in Starring Rolls, so they decided on Rosie’s All American. Chris looked at the menu at Fairfax Fare, so that’s what he wanted. We all agreed to meet up at the section near the street with all the tables.

When I got to SR, I picked the Turkey Foccacia, chips, Coke, and yes, the chocolate peanut butter cupcake… I used a counter credit for my food, and headed to the sitting area to meet the rest of the crew.

IMG_3288.jpg

Chris had picked Fairfax for the chicken and ribs combo, with beans and coleslaw, with the standard chocolate cake for dessert, one counter credit.

Deshea and Jacob went to Rosie’s and he got the cheeseburger, no surprise there, and she got chicken nuggets. Not very adventurous eaters, these kids. Two counter credits. I didn’t even take a pic of the nuggets.

IMG_3293.jpg

I was the first one sitting at the table, and I picked one very near to the railing between the tables and the street. People were walking by and ogling my cupcake, I kid you not. Two ladies a table over were staring at it when they thought I wasn’t looking. This is not an exaggeration; this thing is a work of art. And all this before I even tasted it!

My sandwich was delish. It was so thick with turkey, I had to take half of it off, just to fit it in my mouth, and I have a big mouth! On to the cupcake…. I heard angels sing again. This thing was moist, it was chocolately, it was peanut-buttery, it was DIVINE. The only downside to it, was that I had to save half for Chris. Just kidding, there was no way I could have finished it on my own. I think I’ll vote it my favorite dessert of the trip.

I can’t find my pic of the cupcake before I cut it, but here’s after I split it open.

IMG_3295.jpg

Chris LOVED his chicken and ribs from Fairfax. He says this was his favorite counter service, by far. I had a bit of the chicken, and it was moist and tender and flavorful.

While we ate, we came up with the next plan…. To be continued….

I wish I had one right now! I miss Disney food. Also, I keep thinking how nice it was, having free dining, and not having to cook or clean up after! You could just pick a snack and move on to something fun!
