Are we ready for this?? DS 1st trip to WDW!!!

So here we are. My 1st Trip Report about DS 1st Trip! WOW
So I suggest you sit back, relax, and enjoy this tale that's about to unfold!

BUT

First I think we need to explain a bit about the cast of characters in this tale...

First is ME DW Mary, mother to DS and wife to DH and daughter to DM. Even though I am the brains behind this TR, My DH is the brains behind the WHOLE operation. He got me hooked on loving WDW when we honeymooned last year (my first trip there EVER! and his like- millionth!

Here we are last year on our honeymoon.

Next up: DH. He LOVES things Disney... though that is a bit of an understatement He LOVES planning our trips there and got SO excited when I OK'd our honeymoon and our family trip!

DS is next. He is 2 and we, I mean I, was a bit off about going this year with him because I thought he wouldn't enjoy it at all or understand- BOY WAS I WRONG!- but we will get to that later!!! Lets just say- he wants to go back already!

So along with me not feeling so grand about taking DS at the age of 2 comes my mother, DM on here... DH said that he would love for DM to come along because he looks at her like his own (DH mom passed away 5 years ago now and my DM treats him like her own son). So she is the last and 4th member in our cast of characters in this tale!!

So that is that! Our cast of characters!!!

DAY 1 : PT 1

We woke up early to head to the airport for our 9:45am flight. We drove the night before from our home by Cleveland to Columbus where we were to fly out of. DH dropped the 3 of us off and we checked baggage while he dropped off the car to the lot to sleep for the next 10 days. Everything was smooth sailing- surprisingly! We made it through security and to our gate with ease. We all got situated and then DS decided that he wanted to RUN!!! Time to get all of his energy O-U-T before sitting on a plane for 2 hrs. Off DH and DS went.. when they returned DS was holding a banana- his favorite fruit!

Then it was time to start boarding! After Running all his energy out of his system we all hoped that the plane ride would be peaceful....

Aboard the plane we went... DS calls it "Space"
So off onto the "Space" we went!

We all were seated:: DM across the aisle by the window, DS next to the window on our side (because of the carseat, he had to sit next to the window), then Me, then DH in the aisle seat. DS was getting excited! He did very well during take-off! We were all quite surprised, this being his first "space" ride!

Next thing we know- he is asleep!!!

YAY!!!!!
Next thing we were landing in Orlando and getting off the plane!!!
DH went to go get the rental car while DM, DS, and I went to fetch the luggage- and WHAT A FEAT THAT WAS!!!!! It was a bit crazy, but we got everything and went to wait for DH to bring the car!

Finally in the car and all the luggage and bodies inside, it was time to set off for our final destination:: Coronado Springs Resort!!!!

DAY 1 : PT 2

On the road and headed to CSR!!! We saw plenty of signs leading us in the right direction and towards our home for the next 10 days ::WDW!!!!!!!

Then it was the sign that showed where we would stay for the next 7 nights::

can we saw BEAUTIFUL! DH and I stayed here for our honeymoon last year and we loved it so much we wanted to come back
We stayed in the Casistas- nice rooms and comfy beds!!

We all changed and headed over to the Poly for our lunch at Kona Cafe

It was so yummy! I regret that i do not have any pictures of food on this trip. Only one of a dessert LOL But I can tell you what we ate!
With our dining plan we were able to get an appetizer, entree, and dessert at each meal, plus 2 snack credits a day for the 3 of us. DS, being under 3, was free and not on the plan to eat, but shared our food and ate from the buffets.
I shared the sticky wings with DM and had the island chicken sandwish for entree and banana chocolate crem brulee for dessert, DH had the lump crab cake, BBQ pork taco, and cheesecake, and DM had pan-fried chicken with coconut and mango sauce and chocolate fondue! DS shared off of all our plates!

After Lunch we took the Monorail to Magic Kingdom!

Walking in I was so overwhelmed and excited to be there and sharing this adventure with everyone This was DS and DM's first trip (DM has only been to Disneyland) and My 2nd and DH's millionth!
We went straight to Tomorrowland and got FP's for Buzz and headed over to the Carousel of Progress. A good way to start out the day at MK!!! Back to Buzz, but for some reason the FP line was as long as the regular line, so we passed on it for the day- we had plenty of time to return to ride it another day!
We went into the Laugh Floor instead. DS had a BLAST! He laughed so hard and LOVED it!!!!!

It was time to get some much needed things for the week before dinner at Boma- diapers, juice, etc...

We walked around the resort a bit before dinner. It's just so peaceful and beautiful! We scoped out the pool area and showed DS the playground area- He LOVES slides!!!

and no, that is not wet sand- it's just chipped paint!
We also went and got our mugs as well!

Then it was time to head over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to Boma for dinner! We apparently had 2 ADR's made for that night, and they took the latter of the 2, so our wait for dinner was LONG- but SO WORTH IT!!!!
We all ate till we were full!
DS ate his fill of watermelon and mac and cheese!
We bought an autograph book, then it was time to head back to the hotel to sleep! DS fell asleep on the car ride back to CSR and We all slept like logs! We were very tired after a fun filled day

Boma is DELICIOUS!!! It is a MUST from now on!!! You will enjoy it!!!

and i must admit- taking a small child is tiring and you can't get to go much as if you were alone, but seeing the looks on his face and how amused and excited he got at everything was totally worth it!!!

I'm here! Your DS is adorable! And I think it's so sweet that your DH wanted your mom to come along on the trip.

We love CSR, too! We stayed there for Miguel's first Disney trip and he has been dying to go back! It's such a pretty resort. Can't wait to read more!

And yes, it was great to have my mom along to share in DS 1st time at WDW and to experience her 1st time there as well

I think CSR is a great one to go to on 1st visits! It will always be a favorite because we stayed there on my 1st visit!

DAY 2

We all had a great nights sleep and were up and ready to go by 7am!!

Off to Hollywood Studios to see what we can get into before breakfast!!!
First stop was to follow the crowd towards Toy Story Mania- BUT we got Fast Passes
Then started to walk around the park. We made our way over by Muppet Vision 3-D, and it waslike we were the only people in the park! Went and wathed Muppet Vision 3-D

DS refused to wear his 3-D glasses, but being his first 3-D show/ride, it was expected. He had fun watching it though
Next it was time for breakfast at Hollywood & Vine!
DS loves playhouse disney, so we knew this would be a great first character meal to get us started on the trip!
His favorite character was Handy Manny!

We all had a great time!!! DS was shy with the characters at first, but then he loved them an gave them all hugs
After breakfast it was time to finally ride our first ride ::

DH and DS rode together, and DM and I rode together. We all had a blast! I think DH was exceptionally excited because, with his love of Disney, it was like christimas for him Being able to be the first one to witness our DS's first ride was magical for him!
Magical as it may have been, DS did a great job playing and got a pretty good score- DH on the left, DS on the right...

And DS left his 4-D glasses on the WHOLE TIME!!!
Next it was time for another favorite of mine: Beauty & the Beast Musical!
Belle is one of my FAVORITE princesses

After watching the musical, it was time to head back to the resort and relax for a bit. DS, DH, and DM all went swimming while I relaxed in the quiet

No nap for DS today, but after their swimming it was time to make our way towards MK for dinner.

First stop was the "choo choo" train! DS and DH have a love of trains that I will never understand
We rode the train to Frontierland and after walking through crowds of people (and dodging them as well) We ended up in:: ta-da!

DH and DS rode Aladdin's Magic Carpets, We went on the Pirate of the Carribean boat ride, and watched the Enchanted Tiki Room (one of DM's favorites!!) DS loved it too and was dancing along to the music the whole time

Next up: Dinner at California Grill at Contemporary!!!
We took the monorail over to the Contemporary Resort and made our way to the California Grill. Can we say YUMMY!!!! DS became a bit restless, but was saved by some mickey head confetti!!! (kept him busy the rest of dinner)
For dinner, I had the California Roll, filet, and choclate lava cakewith peanut butter icecream WONDERFUL!!!
DH had goat cheese raviloi, veal, and lemon cheesecake and DM shared a 3 cheese flatbread with DS, filet(same as moi), and apple crisp. We all ate till we were full and it ws SO DELICIOUS!!!!!

After a filling and excellent meal, it was time to head back over to the Magic Kingdom to get a great place to watch

We had a front row place to watch it, and halfway through, DS fell asleep!!!! He had a great time watching it though
Here is one of my favorites: Pete and his Dragon!

After a GREAT parade (first time all of us- minus DH- have seen it!) back to CSR to sleep off a wonderful second day!!!

I didn't even realize you had another update up - sorry! Wow, it looks like you all had a really fun day! I'm very impressed your DS made it that long with no nap.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Cali Grill. Miguel and I are planning on having a meal there on our disneymoon so I love reading good reviews.

What a great trip so far! We took DS at about the same age and he had fun.

Did you find you were doing a lot of travelling to get to ADRs with the DxDDP?

DAY 3:: Animals & EPCOT!!!!

Up and ready by 8am today and headed on our way to Animal Kingdom!
DS loves animals, so we were all very excited for this morning! Plus, we had an ADR at Tusker House too- very exciting!!!

First stop, since we were early for our ADR, was walking through Pangani Trail!

DS LOVED seeing all the animals running around!
We stopped and picked up a FP for the Safari too, so we could go right after breakfast!
Then it was time to head over to Tusker House for breakfast.
First though, we ran into Meeko and Thumper! So DS got to get pictures, autographs, and hugs from Meeko and Thumper!!!

Finally, we made it to Tusker House!

First up was a family picture with Donald! DM took our picture, though we also ended up buying the pictures they offer as well! It's going to be our Christmas card picture this year
DS was so great with all the characters at breakfast!!! He gave them all hugs and blew them kisses!!! His favorite is Mickey!!! At one point, he saw "Mouse" while Daisy was at our table and YELLED for "Mouse!" Daisy looked so sad, but I know they understand! It was too cute though!!! And I know DH loved it too DH and DS share the same love for Mickey and Disney and it is just wonderful
Breakfast was so yummy!!! So many selections!!! I tried the Mealie Pap (not a favorite, though DM liked it). Also tried some of their different breads, choclate croissant, banana bread pudding, fittata, etc- all so yummy!
One of the BEST breakfasts so far on the trip And definitely enjoyable, and I recommend!!!!

Breakfast was wonderful, so we then headed over to use our Fast Passes to ride Kilimanjaro Safari!!!
DS LOVED seeing all the animals!

After riding the Safari, we took the train to Rafiki's Planet watch!
DS got to get pictures with Rafiki and Jimminy Cricket!
DS also got to get a picture with Pocahantas. He touched her fringe on her dress (of course! LOL- embarassed me!) and she asked me if Meeko braided my hair because he is getting good with braiding! haha
DH took DS to pet some animals while DM and I looked around the shop they have outside. DM bought some toy animals that come in a carry bag for DS- too cute!!!
We went and saw "A Bugs's Life" next! One of my favorites
DS ws scared at first, and wouldn't wear his 3-D glasses, but then he LOVED it

After all the fun we had at Animal Kingdom, it was time to go back to the room to relax for a while.

DS took a nap and we all rested up, then headed to EPCOT- the Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow!!!!!
DM, DS, and I rode Spaceship Earth! Ds liked the touch screen and choosing everything for us He was a bit wary in the dark parts, but was okay through the whole ride!
After the ride, we met back up with DH (who had gone and bought DS a new cup while we rode the ride) and walked through CLub Cool!
We tasted a few different sodas. I tried Germany and Japans while DM tried them all!!! I told her to jsut skip Beverly because it was so nasty, but she said she wanted to try them ALL! After she tried Beverly, she agreed with me that it was nasty! LOL

Next up was wandering through the beginning of the World Showcase Food & Wine Festival. DH and I ate at Argentina. I had the corn and cheese empanada, and DH had the beef skewers. YUMMY! ( in the end, with all our ADR's we never made it back to eat more at the F&W festival)

Continuing on, we headed for the Seas- NEMO!!!!!
There was no wait at all so we hopped in a clamobile! DH rode with DS and DM and I rode together After the ride, every fish we saw was "NEMO"
Living the Land was next. DM ws excited to ride this because she loves to garden and grow things and I had never ridden it before since it was closed our last visit. It was interesting to see how they grown the fruits and veggies that they use to serve at the Land pavillion restaurants!

We still had time before dinner, so we rode "Figment". DS like this with all the music! And played around with the musical squares - that when you jump on them play the music of the instrument on them and light up!

DS also loved the one where you play music with your hands! so much that the tried to stay and hide by running under the frame for it and DH had to go get him!
Captain EO was next door, so we all decided to see that right before heading over to dinner at Garden Grill!

DS didn't like it one bit! (well, all except the music- he liked that!)
He wore his glasses the whole time, but at one point I hear him in is seat with his hands up by his mouth and hunched up and says "MOMMY!!!!!"
Poor DS was scared! He crawled up into my lap and dug his head into my neck! LOL When the music came on, he would turn his head and watch, but once it got scary, he turned away and clutched onto me!!!
Afterwards, we were walking out and he was excited it was "ALL DONE!"
I asked him if he liked it and he said, without pause,shaking his head "NO!"

Time to head over to the Land to Garden Grill for dinner with Chip N Dale!!!!
We were served family-style and DS got his own kid platter for free. Since he's 2, he is free to get into the parks and for eating, but most places if you eat somewhere they charge for him, but here the platter was free!
DS's consisted of mac'n cheese, sweet potato fries, and broccoli (that he would't eat). DM, DH, and My Platter had salad, rolls with maple butter, turkey, roast beef, mahi mahi, stuffing, smashed potatoes, and veggies.
DM and I ate apple crisp with caramel & whipped cream for dessert.
DS had brownie and ice cream for dessert.
DS LOVED seeing Mickey Mouse again!!!

And DM got a picture with Chip too Her favorites are Chip N Dale!
Shopping time was after dinner DS got a bubble blower that lights up! He LOVES IT!!!!!
Then it was time to watch Illuminations!!!!
DH tried to get a video of it, but our spot was not too great
DS loved seeing the fireworks!!!

After Illuminations, it was time for bed!
We had a long, but fun and exciting day, and there was more to do tomorrow!!!!!

A great morning at the AK (we really do have to do Tusker House one of these visits) and the afternoon at Epcot. I don't blame your DS...I didn't even see Captain EO and know I wouldn't like it (I sent DH to see it himself because he wanted to see it while we were there in September).

DS is so cute and that family picture was wonderful -- I can see why you chose it for your Christmas card this year!

I've never tried Tusker House before, but it sounds wonderful, and we'll have to try it next time we go.
