Are Universal parks as crowded at Christmas as WDW?

I really want to take my kids on a surprise vacation for Christmas instead of wasting money on a lot of junk, but everyone says that WDW is a nightmare. I was wondering if the same holds true for Universal. Thanks for the help!

Universal will be packed, but not as packed as WDW. Crowds get very thick at nearly every Orlando park, regardless of where you go.

Since MK gets about 15 million visitors a year and Universal gets about 9-10 million, Universal will never get as packed as MK, but you will still see crowds regardless.

I was curious about the crowds the weekend before Christmas? We are going to Universal on Dec. 20th this year and since I've only gone one other time (Sept) I have no idea if it will be crowded prior to the big week!

It will begin to get busier, marley, but it wont be bad. Maybe a 20-30 minute maximum wait for anything.
