Are transferred points bankable?

I purchased 2020 points as a transfer.

Are these bankable into 2021?

Yes they would be bankable. Technically it should be the same use year and banking deadline as the points shouldn't lose any of that information. Though I will say I got a transfer for June 2019 UY points and they told me I could bank them until 5/31/2019 as the system allows transferred points banked up and until their expiration date. But I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that gamble and would book based on the normal 4 month rule.

I'm chatting with member services now. "Kierra" is insisting transferred points are not bankable unless my name was on the contract.

The points match my home resort and UY.

My apologies, I just spoke with my support team and it looks like there was a change, the points can be banked (not borrowed) but member services would have to assist with that banking once you were ready to do that.

I asked her to confirm the points can't be borrowed; she's checking with a supervisor.

AFAIK you cannot borrow transferred points, you can only bank them.

Transferred points can only be banked, not borrowed.

That's no change unless she's potentially referring to more than a decade ago.....
And even then I don't know if there was a time you couldn't bank them. I did have some points transferred for this UY and they came in not showing as bankable. I intend to use them this year so I didn't push to have them correct it. Last year with the transfer the points immediately showed bankable so there's something that can be done in transfers that don't consistently take the rules like they should.

Maybe the issue is that they were 2020 points and nobody is using 2020 points unless they were borrowed. And you can't borrow transferred points. Nobody is in their 2020 UY yet. Will you have to wait until their 2020 UY to bank them.
