Are these o.k. to trade?

Newbie question here. I saw some pin sets at TDS yesterday and I'm wondering if you can trade them. They were sets of 4 different character faces and were $8-$10. They said Disney on the back but the clasp (if that's what you call the thing in back) was black instead of gold. They were a little smaller than other pins but otherwise looked similar to me (painted face on gold pin). Thinking about getting the kids started and thought these might work for them. Does anyone know if this is an acceptable trade for the CMs? Thanks!!

They read Disney on the back and are "stand alone" pins. Meaning they are each a pin that doesn't require another.
For example there was a rack pin set from the parks that was "2001", each pin was a separate number. So in that case you can't trade a "2" or an "0" or a "1" as four separate trades with a CM.
Many of the european pins are of the same size of the TDS pins you are asking about, and they are on many of the WDW CM lanyards.
For future use, keep in mind that DL & WDW have different pin trading rules and these rules can and do change.

Hi, Colleen! Welcome to the DIS Collectors Board.

It sounds like you're referring to the new storybook pin sets that are available at the Disney Stores. Yes, those are fine for CM lanyard trading. The only pin sets like those that can not be broken up and the pins traded individually are the number sets from WDW (i.e., the 4-pin "1999" and "2000" sets). The individual face pins can represent something on their own; the individual numbers don't.
