are these good prices for car rental?

We have two reservations for a car in August 2013 for one week. I used some of the codes that I have foundon this website and wanted to see if these are good prices or I should keep looking. I think they are good but not sure

round trip Tampa airport

National with KLM code - luxury car Cadillac or similar - $342.19
includes all the insurance

Budget with Travelocity code - Minivan $370.69


We may end up being five and why I have two reservations. If we are five we probably have to go with the minivan. Can I wait until we get there to figure out if the luxury car will fit us and the luggage or do I need to cancel one before I arrive?

For sheer comfort I would go with a minivan for 5 people. Plenty of space for luggage and people. The Cadillac may not have enough trunk space for the luggage.

I was just able to rent a Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar for 6 days at TPA for $200 all tax and fees with Costco for May. I would keep looking as you get closer. I know Dollar has a deal on a mini van for May and hopefully something will pop up closer to your trip. I think you have good rates, but I always hope for something better!

The Caddy is probably going to be an ATS and the trunk is very small as is the interior. Nice car, however. You did not give y our dates in August, that would help to see if you got a good deal or not.

It depends on the dates. But I would risk to say you can find better rates.

I think we will end up with the minivan, I am holding onto both right now until we are 100% sure the fifth person will be joining us

Soon2B4 - what code did you use? We had an SUV last July and they gave us a Jeep (Budget car company) and it wouldn't fit our luggage. We had three large suitcases and they wouldn't fit standing up or laying down. We switched to a Ford SUV and it was fine. I don't remember exactly which Jeep it was, it was a brand new one as it only had 2000 miles on it

I would go with a large full size, such as an Impala, which has a huge trunk and a lot of interior room or the mini van. Another code I found useful is: xz53043 I found a full size, for you dates and times at National using that code and final price was 297.06. The mini van came out higher than the one you have now by about 17.00. Keep looking, prices will probably drop.

Where do I enter this code? Is it a contract ID? I tried entering it there and it says that frequent flyer miles cannot be used. Not sure why I am getting an error message

Yes, it goes in the contract code box. The FF miles may not be allowed because of the contract Compass group has with National.
