Okay I just got off the phone planning our trip for next year..... I am excited because I wanted to know about my ADR and when I can book them... SHE SAID 180 DAYS NOT 90!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!:cool1::cool1: so 180 plus 10 I will be on the internet at 6am and then the phone at 7 to confirm:dance3:

I have never been to disney so I am wondering about my choices:

Chef Mickeys
Le Cellier
Plaza
Ohana Friends breakfast
Crystal Palace
Princess Storybook at Akershus Hall
Planet Hollywood

and any CS recomendations

all sound great! we are not big fans of planet hollywood, but that is a personal preference. the plaza is great! the portions are large enough to share. CS recommendations---hhhmmm....columbia harbor house and pecos bill in Mk are good;flaming tree in AK is yummy; and we like sunset ranch in the studios for CS. hope this helps:yay:

I think your choices of CM, Le Cellier, Akershus, and CP are all good food and great character meals in there too. But I would nix the PH and the Plaza. Only because there's better food options out there. DH and I really liked Tony's Town Square when we took our 3 yr old grandaughter b/c the place was casual enough that we could relax a little. Also maybe give 1900 Park Fare a try. Great princess meal and only 1 TS.:thumbsup2

Chef MickeysLove breakfast; dinner so-so
Le CellierA Must do every trip
PlazaAnother must do--always our last meal of the trip
Ohana Friends breakfasthaven't done since they made it family style (and sorry...we don't care for stitch)
Crystal PalaceLOVE breakfast--another must do
Princess Storybook at Akershus HallWe did lunch, didn't care for it...understand breakfast is better
Planet Hollywoodnever done -- we don't like the one in Chicago

and any CS recomendations

Our comments in red. As for CS, we like Cosmic Rays & Columbia Harbor House at the MK, Flame Tree at the AK, and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. We don't like any of them at the Studios.

We did Crystal Palace breakfast, Akershus lunch & Chef Mickey's breakfast and dinner. All of them we enjoyed immensely.
Le Cellier is supposed to be awesome as well.

You can now go online at 3AM EST time to book your ADRs, just wanted to let you know. Good luck!

I saw that this is your first trip to Disney. Be careful not to make it ALL about the dining experience. It will take up a LOT of your time having to be somewhere at a certain time, just to experience the DINING portion of the trip. Is this what everyone in your party is wanting? If so then continue on, but it will restrict what you actually get to experience as far as your disney trip goes.:thumbsup2 I would recommend getting input from your party on what they want to experience and going with that. We are not big eaters and would be sorely put out trying to make sure we were in the exact spot to make a bunch of dining reservations, rather than experiencing the attractions. Just a thought. Wishing you and yours the most magical experience.:cool1::cool1:

I have never been to disney so I am wondering about my choices:

Chef Mickeys One of our favorites! Great character time and a wonderful selection of food. We always do breakfast early on our MK day
Le Cellier - never been but going this year and have heard great things
Plaza
Ohana Friends breakfast
Crystal Palace - Average buffet for breakfast and lunch. Typically the Pooh characters.Princess Storybook at Akershus Hall
Planet Hollywood - Dont wait your time. Over rated and really the food is just Applebee's in a big blue ball. Not a true Disney experience in my opinion. If you are over at Downtown Disney go to Wolfgang Pucks Express.

and any CS recomendations

Prime Time is our other staple for great food and desserts.

But I agree with the comment above.....dining is just a part of the experience so dont become so concerned about making all the "right" choices about food and miss out on the big picture.

Just checking in on 'Ohana and Akershus breakfasts...we loved 'Ohana (DH said he had to have breakfast with Stitch!), the food was really good and the characters were awesome. My kids and parents really liked the Akershus breakfast. There was a great buffet and some of the breakfast was served, too. Each princess came to the table and signed autographs and posed for a picture. Even though my girls were 9 and 12, they still loved it.

You might also consider 'Ohana for dinner. The food is great and it's a lot of fun.

For CS:
At Epcot: Sunshine Seasons for lots of variety and Morocco for delicious lunch platters.
At MK: We like Pecos Bill's for hamburgers. Columbia Harbour House is really good, known for its tuna fish sandwiches which are really good. My land lubber DH and DD13 also had no problems finding anything to eat there, eventhough there's a lot of seafood on the menu. And for breakfast, the Main Street Bakery is really yummy...great cinnamon buns!
At AK: Flame Tree BBQ has great pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ items, we also liked Yak 'n Yeti which has Asian style food served in cute take out boxes.
At DHS: Starring Rolls is great for breakfast. Lunch is a challenge...we tend to graze and snack when were at DHS.

Have fun! If you want to see the menus, you might check out allears.net.

Chef Mickeys:Always a must for us. We always eat there our first night of each trip. It's a fun way to start the trip.

Le Cellier: Yummy!! The filet mignon with mushroom risotto is SO good.

Ohana Friends breakfast: Very nice! It's a fun breakfast IMO.

Crystal Palace: It's been a few years since we've been here..we didn't have a very good experience last time.

Planet Hollywood: There are better restaurants at WDW IMO.

and any CS recomendations:
MK: Pinnochio's or Cosmic Ray's
Poly: Capt.Cook's
AK: Pizzafari or Yak & Yeti
AKL: The Mara
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
DHS: Backlot Express or Pizza Planet

I also agree about the advice given here. We rarely eat at TS restaurants anymore, maybe one or 2 a trip. It does really cut into park time and sometimes causes more frustration. You have to remember to go for the atmosphere/"show" rather than the food.

So, for CS suggestions:
In AK, we don't care for Flame Tree anymore. Our new favorite is Pizzafari.
In Epcot, I agree with Sunshine Food Fare - great deals and choices. I also like CS in China and Mexico. I used to like the Yakitori chicken in Japan's CS, but they changed it several years ago :confused3 and we don't care for it anymore.
In MK, Cosmic Ray's, Pecos Bills, Columbia Harbour House.
In HS, I find myself snacking here. I love the cheese stuffed pretzels. But we go to the Backlot Express and Pizza Planet.
DTD, we love Wolfgang Puck express and Earl of Sandwich.

Your TS choices sound good. We used to love our Crystal Palace breakfast when the kids were little. We ate at Ohana's for dinner (no characters) and it was fun for the kids. I heard the Princess breakfast was great. Planet Hollywood is typical. We were not impressed with Le Cellier. Big prices, small portions from what I remember. If I went again, I would probably only get the soup and eat the breadsticks.
Prime Time is great for "show" if you get a good waiter/waitress and your kids are old enough to have a sense of humor about getting "reprimanded".

If you don't have high expectations for any place, hopefully you will love it all!

In regards to making ADR's, I've seen on here 180 days plus 10, what does that mean? I'm not familiar with "plus 10".

when you stay at a disney resort you get 10 extra days to do an adr so 10 days sooner than the GP

I am probably taking out PH and putting in Chef Mickeys....I wanna add the hoop dee doo revue...I was just picking things that would add to our trip and then adjust them as neccessary before I make any ADRs
