Are there plans for the next DVC property?

Without the F&F sales had practically stalled to a stand still. Yet we stil see glowing reviews of SSR. I wonder who is posting those? :confused3

Yup Dave, you caught us. I guess we'd better fess up. All the SSR fans are just shills hired by DVC to come on message boards and post great reviews on the boards. We got free park passes for doing it. Gee, I'm amazed you smoked us out. Kudos to you, o truthteller.

So here is a good question. IF SSR sales are going bad why don't they halt construction on the other 6 bldgs? Have they started any of those yet? Or why don't they stop right now altogther and scrap the additional bldgs?

That would make more sense to me.

Look how long it took for VB to sell. Did they alter those plans? When they decided to expand the plans sales were going well. Guess what, now that people can actually stay there and tour sales have come to a screeching hault.

I think it is more likely SSR construction will be done in 2007. It will be a year or two more before it sells out.

Right on thus the 2009 predictionon my part.

Yep, I too am on DVC's payroll (yeah, right!) as a plant to sing the praises of DVC! Daitcher...you try to hijack every post regarding SSR....why don't you grow up and just let it go??? We ALL know how you feel about SSR! It's getting old!

JerJan he wants to DVC to make SSR a better resort for your family.

He thinks you deserve the best WDW has to offer.

So do I.......

Who knows maybe when DVC build a new pool at SSR that puts SAB to shame they will name the pool ,Daitcher's cement pond.

I love it just the way it is....it's PERFECT for me and my family. Why don't I worry about what's best for "MY FAMILY"....thanks anyway. ;)

I have stayed at OKW and Boardwalk and IMHO they don't even come close to what I want for our vacations! To each his own, it's justing getting tiresome of the constant SSR bashing......if you don't like it don't stay there or sell it! And as they love to say around here "BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY!"

It would seem to me that WDW would need a 5th park, if they plan on continuing to sell new DVC shares.

IMO every person they sell DVC puts more strain on the current parks.

We would never dream of going to WDW as often as we do, if not for owning DVC. I woulod imagine other people are like that also.

IMO DVC has brought more and more and more people to the parks, on a yearly basis, yet the parks haven't changed much in size since AK.

At some point in time, wouldn't WDW need to add more park space prior to selling anymore DVC?

I disagree. Many of us DVC owners go so often to WDW, we spend less time in the parks than regular visitors. In addition, AK is a half day park and has a lot of room for improvement and growth. The studios could also be expanded as well. Not to mention World Showcase and Future World at Epcot.

I have to agree with Jan, I would change nothing about SSR. Adding the additional restaurant is nice but we will probably only eat one meal there per trip. We enjoy eating away from our resort regardless of where we stay.

Also it's beginning to be borderline insulting to us that like SSR, that some think we are not capable of making an intelligent decision on what we like. I and many others are quite capable of determing what we like.

I have stayed at all the DVC locations including HHI and Vero Beach many times. I like them all except BW for different reasons. However right now SSR fits us the best.

We have been to Disney so many times we don't want to be right on top of a park. We do like the Downtown Disney location and we really like the Spa and the main pool, the quiet pools, Artist's Pallette, and the staff at SSR.

If you don't like SSR fine, you are entitled to that. However it is just downright rude and juvenille to continue to put people down and insult them because they do.

As to SAB there will never be another like it. It's too expensive to maintain.

But you DO GO "so often" that even if you only go to the parks every 2nd or 3rd day, you still end up in the park more often over the coruse of time then a non dvc owner.

what about SAB add's cost to maintain over any other large theme pool?

Lifeguards there have to be paid more because they must have water park experience and training. Insurance is higher due to the deep water current. Maintenance is higher due to the sand bottom.
Due to its shape and blind spots more lifeguards are required than the more traditional pool.
Due to the location of the slide you have to have guards on that area in addition to the pool area.

This is very true and I'd guess that is why Stormalong Bay is the one and only "super" pool.

It was my opinion based on what I read here, on other web sites and in other media outlets. We agree on the future focus. Look at how fast and how popular the BCV and VWL were. It only makes sense to not do any big stand-alone projects like EP and concentrate on smaller projects (with existing infaststructure) like the Contemporary.

If anyone thinks Eagle Pines will ever be built, I'd love to hear why.

HBC

SSR is a stand alone resort which was built after BCV and VWL. It is also selling pretty well, though probably not as quickly as those smaller resorts. Granted, it was built instead of EP because of the existing infrastructure. While I agree there will probably be more DVC additions to existing resorts, I also do not think that EP is dead. Eventually, they will need to develop that area EP is slated for. In addition, many of the existing resorts simply don't have the land to add a DVC to them. IMO, CR is next because that resort needs something to boost occupancy rates (similar to Disney Institute), the tennis club is closing, and no remodeling is currently being done (or has been announced) to the North Garden Wing. I could also see an expansion to WLV since they have a lot of property there. I don't think the YC has enough space and I think any Poly DVC would need to go into the existing parking lot. AKL also has space, though I doubt they would be savannah view rooms. Let's hope Disney doesn't get desparate enough to add a DVC to the value resorts when they run out of existing resorts to add on to! Nothing wrong with the values, but it's just not the same level of service. I'd put more money on EP than that.

so we need 3 more life guards at 15 an hour and extra insurance at ? 100 bucks a day, and we need someone to move the sand in the AM for 2 hours at 15 an hour.

So we have about 40 hours a day max of extra labor @ 15 bucks an hour=600, and 100 a day EXTRA for insurance, so we have 700 extra a day, let's round that up to 1000 a day extra?

IMO you make that up with ease. IMO you rent atleast on average 4 more rooms a day at BC/YC as a result of having SAB.

Maybe my numbers are way off?

No more prime land to build on. If there was more land around the BWV,BCV,BY club,BW INN then WDW would have built SSR there. There wasn't, so they didn't.......

This is more reason why I think WDW will build a 5th park, to give DVC more cahnces of building a true ON SITE resort that will command top dollar for reservations to DVC members and cash customers alike.

When you say true "on site" resort, are you referring to an "in park" resort like the Grand Californian or Hotel Mira Costa? All the DVC resorts are on site, with the exception of VB and HH.

There is so much in the current parks that we never get to that I personally do not see a need to have a fifth park. I think adding a fifth park would just give those Disney bashers one more reason to say what a hectic and exhausting place Disney is as they try to cram everything into one visit.
