Are there EVER standard rooms with FD this time?

I have checked and checked my dates (only 3 days this time) for FD with a standard room. I'm checking online. Never available. I can just think of better things to do with $150 than having a water view room at Coronado Springs.

Has ANYONE gotten a standard view at a Moderate Resort with the current FD offer? I swear I got it last year.

I booked 2 room today 12/22-29 standard room at CBR and CSR was also available . Those are literally the only rooms available in value and mod category for our dates. Keep trying, you never know and your way.

We got a standard room at CBR but we booked the day free dining was released.

If I changed my dates (which I don't want to do), there were standard rooms available. I've been checking since day 1, and for my particular dates, CSR never had standard rooms available.

My husband is not complaining, so I've decided to be happy for now. I will keep checking periodically when I have time.

I have seen standard rooms in all the months of FD this fall at all 3 resorts, different dates.

I noticed one today open up for an Oct date I've been watching at CSR past few weeks there has not been anything but king business there.

But to answer OPs question, yes, but when the FD offer starts.

For example, POR and POFQ have been completely unavailable or almost impossible to get even before the public offer came out.

But was able to snag a reservation at POR for 5 at 1am last Sunday. Now trying to migrate my existing CSR reservation (done via PIN but 4 people) in order to get the old room and ticket rates.

I found our Std CSR room over the course of 4 weeks! It was painful, and still doesn't cover our entire vacation stay, but good enough! We totally missed out on day 1 when our TA sat on hold for 3 hours, had issues with the site meltdown, but 2 weeks later a std room popped up for 10/19-10/25, 2 weeks after that 10/18-10/23 opened up so we were able to tack on 10/18. You need at least 3 days in a row to nab something, so that can be tricky if one of your dates is popular/booked. Our first choice resort was POR, and 10/24-10/25 just was booked solid so there was no way it would work. We have 10/25-10/27 at POR Garden View room only discount, but we actually save more that way with our ADRs the way they are... It's a crazy math puzzle though!!!

How did you combine the two CSR to make it 10/18-10/25? Did you book two res and then call?

In my case, I haven't call yet as I'm still waiting on 100% of the other adult coming over. If she comes with us, then we switch to POR but otherwise, we would stay in CSR. Don't want to call in the event they say I cannot have two reservations at the same time or something like it and get both cancelled!

I had my TA get the one when it appeared. We almost missed out, so she mentioned I could have just "released" it to her if I found it and booked online. We booked a 3rd room only for 10/18 that we later cancelled since our dates were firm. Then 2 weeks later I checked early AM, played with some dates after I found out from Disboards that it was a minimum of 3 nights/2-day tickets (rather than the default 6-nights), and I found a range with 10/18, so I grabbed that, had my TA call later that morning and "merge" the two, or basically just add the day. Without a TA I would think it would still work, but you could try just saving or moving real slow online while you gave WDW a call too. Serious luck though, not much has budged with CSR.

I think it is possible as you get closer to the 45-day window that something might pop up too, so keep checking! I'd also check early in the morning, that's when I had the best luck. I did see a POR RR Riverview a few weeks ago for instance, but more than we wanted to spend for our stay, and didn't cover all if the same FD dates as our CSR FD. We've also since firmed up CSR in our heads, thanks to DS7 insisting on it now.
