Are there different fireworks shows at MK??

I have friends that were at the Polynesian from 12/3-12/7. They said the MK was closed at one point for some special thing. I'm assuming it was MVMCP. But, she said there were fireworks that were absolutely incredible that they watched from the beach. According to her, they weren't the same fireworks they had seen at the MK. Were there some special fireworks happening last week/last week-end or did she see the new 'Wishes' fireworks and was confused. Confused wouldn't be too far off the mark with this friend. She actually insisted that since she stayed at the GF, she could take a special monorail car directly to Epcot several years ago!! I just couldn't get her to understand that the rail just doesn't go there!!! So, any thoughts on those fireworks she saw? Hoping it was Wishes since we go leave on Friday and I'm looking forward to our time at MVMCP on the 14th and those terrific fireworks! We may have to catch them twice if they're that terrific.

All that has been here of late is Wishes and then on MVMCP nights, they added a littl special at the end of wishes, the perimeter firings of shells around the park, rather short though for that extra part. Past years seemed to be a bit more for the extra MVMCP addon, but with Wishes as spectacular as it is, not really needed.

Thanks Dan, that's what I thought. She did say they were pretty fantastic. Can't wait to get there.
