Now I am not kidding. I went to the mall last week and there was some teens in their PJs, no kidding. I was with 11yodd, Renee, and she told me that the 8th graders at her school are wearing them TO SCHOOL.

Just wondering if this "trend" has hit your area yet???

My 15 and 16 year old cousins have been doing this for a while now. They say its more comfortable! Well duh! I would love to wear mine to work :)

Yes, my DD wore a pair of pajama pants yesterday. She has finals this week and was told to wear something comfortable;) I guess it doesn't get more comfortable than that, huh? I actually think they look cute and there could be MUCH worse things she wanted to wear. They just wear the pants (with a regular shirt) around here--not a full set of pj's.

Yep- my sister and her friends wear their flannel pj bottoms out quite a bit.
I used to wear mine out when I was younger. I don't see anything wrong with it. If my botttoms weren't so threadbare, I would probably wear them out to the mall ;)

I have worn Disney pj t-shirts as regular t-shirts. They were cheap and you can't tell the difference.:teeth:

I'm not a teen (sigh...how long ago), but I did get flannel lounge pants and they are so comfy! I wore them to the market once. Is that a bad thing?

Hey, not a bad thing at all Annie&Hallie'sMom:D . I just saw this trend for the first time and I guess I am a little behind in the times.;)
And hey us grown-ups don't count...because I suppose I have gone to the store with pjs under my coat...:p

Yes they do. My DD's school now has a rule "No pajama pants". But they did schedule a "pajama day" when it was encouraged to wear them. My DD and the other girls in her dance school also wear PJ pants to dancing. The dance teachers don't like it, and have been fighting the kids on this for over a year, but for some reason, they continue to put up with it.

Yep!

I was eyeing up my PJ bottoms wondering... hmm.. wonder if I can get away with it.. :D

we did this when i was in high school almost 10 years ago  too. :)

people definately do it in college, and sometimes i still do when i drive to pick my dh up from the metro when he has class late. :o

I wear mine everywhere. Hey, after having to be dressed up 8 hours a day, i am going to wear what is comfy - my pj pants. I go everywhere in them :)

And I graduated 7 years ago, and we did it then, too..

Yep, I see it more frequently every day. It's a little :earseek: at first, but I think the novelty has worn off for me.

They probably "put up with it" because YOU are paying tuition! Why would they object to it?

The kids at my high school wear pjs to school all the time, and out in public. We wear them to school because sometimes you have days where you just wanna be comfortable. And if we just wanna run out to rent a movie or buy something, there's no point in dressing up. I had midterms today so I went into school wearing huge sweatpants and a big hooded sweatshirt lol, not exactly pjs, but definitely "scrub wear" :teeth:

Been doing it for a while here too, I think they look cute! DH wore his bottoms to Blockbuster the other night along with his work boots. It was quite a sight...lol!

They did this in our area about 20 years ago. It's back in style again? LOL

pajama pants or "lounge pants" are almost as common as jeans at school! Some people just don't feel the need to impress anyone at school, and other people just throw them on if they were up late and don't feel like getting ready in the morning. During exams week, almost everyone wears pajamas, mostly because we only have to be there for a few hours, and we want to be comfortable. and there's nothing more comfortable than fleece pants and a big hoodie!

Even though pajamas are against the school dress code, a lot of kids wear flannel PJ pants or sweats and t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts with flip flops. The trend was, for awhile, to wear the entire matching PJ set (long sleeved shirts and pants) with animal slippers but they stopped allowing that. I see PJ bottoms a lot during finals weeks (like next week) when we only go to school until 10am or noon, or when people are running late. Even during the regular week, there are always people wearing PJ bottoms and hoodies.

Yes, it's here too (just wearing the bottoms)! My DD wore a pair to basketball practice the other day. They even have a pajama day at school. She's 13...in middle school.

My kids wonder what's wrong with me if I happen to have a day where I stay in my PJ's.;) Believe me that doesn't happen very often!!:( ;)
