Are the carpets still grounded in the Aladdin show?

But I thought those were stunt doubles? Is risk not part of the job? And they were prepared for it seeing as how no one got hurt.

Stunt double or not the carpet is NEVER suppose to flip. It means that something malfuctions. What if it had fallen, not just fliped? This could have hurt park guests, in addition to the actors/doubles.

Why don't they just use the magic carpet that is grounded on the stage (the one that they appear from at the end of "A Whole New World"?) They can sing their song and just use that "carpet" and get off where they usually do?

I have not seen the show in the last year since the near accident, so I don't know how "empty" the scene feels now. However, your suggestion sounds like a good one to me. It does seem they would do something, rather than just have dead space with the actors off stage.
