Are sites held for Florida residents?

I've been trying for a few months to get campsite reservations at Christmastime. I got 2 of the days I needed some time ago, but haven't been able to get the other 2 days despite trying multiple times almost every day. I am not a Florida resident, but we have a 2nd home in Florida and are currently in FL for spring break. I went onto the reservations website a little while ago, for the first time since arriving in Florida this week, and the Disney server must have known I was in Florida because it showed me Florida resident offers that I never see when I'm at home. And then, amazingly, the two days I've been trying for were available! So did I just luck into a site that someone just cancelled, or is there some advantage to being in Florida?

Just some pixiedust: on that try.

Have a wonderful time.

We are Florida residents for half of the year and see the special offers frequently (however have yet to see one that applies to the Fort). I do not believe they hold out sites for us. It has been no easier to find sites during busy times than previously. The great perk though is the cost of annual passes! :yay:
You must be an actual resident, not just visiting for a period of time to take advantage of these offers.

I sure wish there were Fl resident rates for the campsites, they are only for resorts and cabins. You must have caught a cancellation, we keep searching for Halloween, maybe we will get lucky one day:)

No site held and no special rates. AP holders get very few discounts only on value times. But we do have good weather.

Have you tried booking a longer stay ? You can add days before or after then cancel the extra days later. That trick worked for some people. Be warned Christmas time is very busy and now that TAs are booking ghost reservations thing are even harder. Good Luck
