Are Santa's presents wrapped or unwrapped under the tree?

All wrapped except the large stuff. Last year the bicycle was left outside on top of the chimney with a ribbon around it. (Wouldn't fit down the chimney. . .)

:lmao:

That is the best I've heard! How did your little one discover it outside?

As far as putting gifts under the tree, I put the gifts for family (grandparents, aunts, cousins, uncles) under the tree wrapped before Christmas & Santas presents don't come out until he arrives at our house.QUOTE]

Same at our house. But santa's gifts are in the middle of the living room arranged (to make it look like there's more)!

I wrap each person's gifts in different paper, then santa has his own paper that is hidden until used to wrap gifts, then the left over is thrown away-no matter how much is left! <-that is sometime tough to do! but We've got a very nosey DD5.5 and a very observant DS3 that would catch on sooner than later!!

The kids each get 3-5 gifts from mom and dad, then like 7-9 from santa a piece, then about 3 for the both of them. The magic is alive on Christmas morning and I love to see their little faces....it's wonderful!!

Everything is wrapped Santa also has special paper stocking things are usually wrapped too. We also do St Nick and wrap those little stocking things too.

As most things in marriage this was a compromise. My wife wanted Santa to wrap everything, I didn't.

We agreed to wrap all but the large items.

Santa wraps. All presents from family are opened on Christmas Eve. Then Santa comes that night and those presents are opened Christmas morning. Santa also takes things out of packaging and installs batteries.

Everything is always wrapped here, just not the stuff in the stockings. And the presents don't come out till Christmas, because my brother still believes in Santa. I still like having the presents put on Christmas day, because it's not a 'magical' or whatever when they've been there for a few days. :p

Our wrapped gifts from family and friends go under the tree all throughout December to add to the festive decor.

Santa's gifts are not wrapped. They are removed from the boxes, filled with required batteries, and arranged in little "scenes" in separate areas for each child. When the dd's come it...it is like entering a magical scene on Christmas morning.

On another note- We also don't open the other presents under the tree until Christmas NIGHT. We started this when I was little and my dad (who is a minister and thus out late on x-mas eve doing the late service and then home to set up santa toys til wee hours of the morning) would fall asleep right after we finished doing stockings. One year, we just kept playing with the Santa toys and then didn't open the gifts until after an early dinner.

It turned out to be a pleasant way to keep up the fun...and we just kept it that way. Santa gifts in the morning...then breakfast and stockings. Then we play the new toys, watch holiday movies and prepare Christmas dinner (which takes all day).

After dinner, then presents....sometimes with a break for dessert in the middle!

I love the sound of this! We just haven't perfected our Christmas tradition, but I think I may takl to DH about yours . . . it just sounds so nice!

Large gifts from Santa are left unwrapped with big bows and a tag with the child's name. This year they are getting sleds. Smaller gifts are wrapped in plain red paper and names are written in black. All stocking stuffers are wrapped in the same red paper.

We put gifts under the tree, but they are the ones that are going to other people in the family, so usually by Christmas Eve the presents have been delivered and the big surprise is everything that ends up there in the morning.

hi as my sisters and i were growin up santa never wrapped ,but i always wondered why mom and dad never gave us anything for Christmas so now that im a Mom santa doesnt wrap but I and dh have gifts under the tree for son. I dont want him thinkin like me wow mom and dad never gave me anything for Christmas.

:) At our house Santa's stuff came unwrapped and out of the packaging and if it ran ( like a train or lightbright) they were turned on and working. Because well, the elves made the toys. :wizard: This was however the unfortunate way that I found out about Santa.. when my dad was putting together my Barbie Dream House at 3 in the morning Christmas eve and was having some difficulty. ;) DH were wrapped but his family didnt do alot for christmas, they only got one thing and that was from Santa and that was it. So I think we will do from Santa unwrapped but stockings wrapped when DS is older, he's only going to be 4 months old. :)

Santa wraps at my house. He uses different paper than I use. He always uses Santa paper. He doesn't wrap stocking gifts.

Just depends on what it is! If it is something big and hard to wrap then it gets a big bow or ribbon. If it is wrapable, it gets wrapped, but with different paper than the rest of your presents are wrapped with. Then you have to get rid of the paper, so don't buy too much of it! :rotfl:

One more thing.... We do part of our Christmas on the 24th. We all go to church (Parents, brothers and their families) then eat dinner. After that we pass out all the gifts and then take turns opening, usually youngest to oldest.
(A tradition that my family has been doing since we were very small children) We take a break and have dessert. We laugh alot! It makes for a very long day, but none of us would trade it for anything! When my brothers and I were growing up we always went to midnight Mass. I must say, 5:30pm Mass is much easier!

Then we go home and start all over again! First DS and I put out the treats for Santa. We get a few hours sleep before our son wakes us up to tell us Santa has been here! :rotfl:

Santa wraps. Think about all the pictures and movies you've seen with Santa and his bag of gifts; how many of showed the bag full of wrapped gifts? I can't think of any in which the gifts aren't wrapped.

Of course, for a counter argument, it's hard to justify from an environmental perspective. You do all that wrapping so that the wrapping paper can be torn off after being displayed for all of an hour. Seems like quite a waste, espcially from a guy that lives someplace where no trees grow.

How old were your kids before they started to believe that line about Santa not existing? We have a 7 year old that still seems happy to believe in the old guy. He has always been distrustful of the tooth fairy thing though.

My son is 12 and still believes! :rotfl: I really think he's just not sure! I know he wants to still believe, so he does. He still writes to Santa. :rotfl:

I guess technically at our house, Santa doesn't wrap. The Elves build, buy, and wrap. Santa oversees the process and does the delivery.

BTW, for those wanting to make sure you kids understand the true meaning of Christmas, I would recommend against having them wait until after church service or mass on Christmas morning before opening their presents. We did this several years while I was younger and I can tell you that as a kid, my thoughts were not on my faith during those masses and the times I did think about mass, my thoughts were not really positive. It's just asking too much from a kid and very likely to backfire.

Santa doesn't wrap at our house! But he only brings 1 or 2 of the bigger gifts and they are sitting under the tree ready to go! Mom and Dad give all the wraped gifts.
My DH had wraped santa gifts as a kid, and he wanted Santa to wrap. But when he seen our sons face the first Christmas,he could see his gifts unwraped under the tree, he never said anything else about Santa wrapping!

In our house Santa doesn't wrap and like a few others have mentioned Santa actually unwraps the gifts-takes them out the boxes-all those wire ties are gone-batteries are installed. I do this before Christmas and store the stuff in plastic bins away from the kids. That way all that trash can be out of the house before Christmas. My DH & I don't give the kids presents. Gifts for other family members and gifts from out of town family are put under the tree as they are ready or arrive.

Santa delivers Chrismas eve and the kids go to bed relatively easy because they know Santa won't come if they are awake. The gifts are left on a chair for DS and each DD have a spot on the couch.

None of the kids believe any more :(. The oldest told the youngest who had just turned four 2 years ago. But before and since I wrap everything. No matter how big or small. It a little crazy I know but I love to see the kids rip through the paper.

At our house Santa leaves one wrapped gift for each child, usually it is their BIG gift. It is in a paper different from all the other gifts and always has a typed note to the child attached to it.

Allyson :)

Yep, Santa wraps at our house-----we leave paper and tags and tape out for him(since one child did notice paper similarities!!!!!)we also have to ,as responsible parents, donate to "santa's fund", so no, santa cannot "afford" everything, we leave the front door unlocked so he can get in.........and sometimes he leaves us glittery red footprints!!!!! Oh, and you have to call the tooth fairy (she'e very busy these days) And sometimes you only get a voicemail..............AND the easter bunny will leave notes if the house is too messy with toys to hide all of his eggs................the things I have to do..... :rotfl:
