Are Santa's presents wrapped or unwrapped under the tree?

Santa is a wrapper in our house too. But he only wraps in special "Santa Wrap". I think I just enjoy watching the kids' faces when they open the gifts. But it would be nice to save all that time that I spend wrapping. Oh well this year is a light year. We decided to go to Disney instead!!

At our house we've always put the gifts under the tree as they got wrapped and Santa's gifts never have been wrapped. I think the way my parents look at it is that it's less mess for them to clean up. Plus, on Christmas, my DSisters(4 and 10) have a tendancy not to go to bed until after 1 and wake up around 6 or 7, so it's easier for us to leave Santa's unwrapped so they can at least see what they are getting from Santa without having to wait for me, Mom, and Dad to get up to unwrap.

Santa leaves unwrapped presents at our house. Family presents are wrapped several days before and are left under the tree. This way the kids can distinquish between Santas and our presents. Funny they never notice that Santa doesn't leave anything for the adults? hmmmm.

Santa also wraps at our house. Unfortunately, all the wrapping may just kill Santa. Wish Santa knew about unwrapped gifts when the kids were smaller. Half the fun for them now is the guessing and shaking of packages before they are unwrapped. Plus the presents do look beautiful under the tree with the twinkling lights. So...I guess Santa will have to stop complaining and get wrapping.

Our Santa places unwrapped(fully assembled) gifts(1 per kid) infront of the fireplace. He also fills the stockings.

Santa wraps here with wrapping paper covered in Santa's. He delivers them on Christmas Eve after everyone is asleep. The family gifts are wrapped in different paper and go under the tree as soon as the tree is up.

How many gifts does Santa bring at your house? This has always been a dilemma for me, I feel like we don't give enough presents in some ways. Santa only brings 1 or 2 at our house and the stocking stuff. Then we have 5 or so from Mom and Dad. I know some people who give their kids like 20 or more gifts, then I feel like we should give our DD more. She's 7. Her gifts are usually more on the expensive side too, so that's one of the reason she only gets a few, also she's an only child and gets lots of presents from her grandparents. How many gifts do you give? And how many from Santa? Thanks!
Also, we wrap all the presents. Santa has special Santa paper, but I don't think DD has ever noticed. I don't wrap the stocking stuff.

Santa always wraps the gifts at our house. I guess I started this when my first DD was a baby. Since kids usually love unwrapping gifts, I just thought it would be fun to let her tear through the wrapping. (Of course, that's when I just had one. Now I have three, and I'm thinking - what have I started???)

My two older girls still love getting their wrapped gifts from Santa. I have one younger DD who I think still believes - but unfortunately, I think she's starting to suspect.... She also loves ripping through the paper!!!

Each DD gets her own wrapping paper from Santa - that's how Santa knows who's gift is for who!!!!!

It is amazing how every family is different. In my family EVERYTHING was wrapped...in DHs family they did it both ways. I will always wrap everything...granted it is VERY time consuming, but like a previous poster said it makes Christmas morning last longer.

Also in our house EVERYTHING is from Santa, the kiddos are too young to be saying oh this is from mom and dad and this is from Santa, so everything is from Santa...and Santa has his own paper that only his gifts are in...

I am DREADING wrapping...I have a closet FULL of toys and NOTHING wrapped yet!

I wrap everything except for big items. I remember my girls last year seating in their tricicle (not wrap) as we got all the other presents open. ANd all the gifts are from Santa even for the older people.

Growing up dh & I both had wrapped gifts & stocking stuffers so why change the tradition.

As far as putting gifts under the tree, I put the gifts for family (grandparents, aunts, cousins, uncles) under the tree wrapped before Christmas & Santas presents don't come out until he arrives at our house.

Although this year with a soon to be 9 month old I am not sure what is going to be out since she will tear it all & eat it like my other 2 did (OK one the other one was 3-4 months for his 1st Christmas).

Santa brings all but just a couple of gifts. We only give maybe 2-3 from us. Santa brings probably 30 or more. I figure they are only young once and I have no need to take the credit for gifts that they will know one day who bought them anyway.

Santa leaves the presents under the tree unwrapped, but he does wrap the stuff for the stocking. Santa uses his own Santa paper for the stocking stuffers. Santa brings each child three presents. Our kids usually have those three ideas ready well before Thanksgiving! I can't even imagine how this will go this year, since we'll have four digging into gifts at once!

I usually put a few gifts under the tree, and will add gifts from out of town relatives as they arrive. I save gifts from us to bring down Christmas Eve, so the tree has that "Oh my goodness...look at all the gifts" look. I think we may change our plan this year. Ds is 15 months, so I'm betting that he will break into any gifts left out. We may just save everything until Christmas Eve.

Our wrapped gifts from family and friends go under the tree all throughout December to add to the festive decor.

Santa's gifts are not wrapped. They are removed from the boxes, filled with required batteries, and arranged in little "scenes" in separate areas for each child. When the dd's come it...it is like entering a magical scene on Christmas morning.

On another note- We also don't open the other presents under the tree until Christmas NIGHT. We started this when I was little and my dad (who is a minister and thus out late on x-mas eve doing the late service and then home to set up santa toys til wee hours of the morning) would fall asleep right after we finished doing stockings. One year, we just kept playing with the Santa toys and then didn't open the gifts until after an early dinner.

It turned out to be a pleasant way to keep up the fun...and we just kept it that way. Santa gifts in the morning...then breakfast and stockings. Then we play the new toys, watch holiday movies and prepare Christmas dinner (which takes all day).

After dinner, then presents....sometimes with a break for dessert in the middle!

In our house...

Gifts from Santa under the tree are always wrapped. (Santa has his own wrapping paper that doesn't get used for anything else. It's usually a paper that has Santa in the design.)

Items in the stocking are not wrapped.

The gift hidden in the tree from Santa Mouse is wrapped in blue paper with a yellow ribbon, just like in the book.
