Are people generally good about wearing masks outside of the Disney bubble?

I searched this forum but didn't see a recent answer on this... from what I understand there are no mask orders in Florida... are people in the grocery stores and restaurants off-property still following Covid-avoidance best practices? Are there certain grocery stores that require masks? What about the souvenir shops in the area?
Thanks!

We went to both Walmart and Target on recent trips and while the stores technically required masks, it was pretty much a free-for-all. When we walked into Target, an employee thanked us for wearing our masks and wearing them properly - and what we witnessed in Target was about 1,000x better than what we saw at Walmart.

When we were in the airport there was an announcement that Orange County has a mask mandate in place. I don't however think they are enforcing it. We were just there, but didn't feel safe enough to leave the disney bubble. The only reason it was working in disney is because of the enforcement behind the rule. Otherwise there wouldn't be much compliance there either I suspect.

Local here...

I live in Winter Garden... All the stores are requiring mask, evening limiting the amount of people into the stores, fitting rooms are mostly closed, every door it states you have to wear a mask, all restaurant in this area are requiring mask to and from the table, and if you get up and go to the restroom. Tables are social distance, or have some type of partition between booths, and servers are all wearing mask... All the parks are requiring mask... They are social distancing everywhere, some store still have markers on the floors, its about 50/50 with the markers on the floors... Here in the Orlando area, pretty much following the guidelines.. the tourist areas are following the guidelines...

I will say some/a few of the beach communities, and more rural areas are much more relaxed...

As well... I should say as always, there are those people who choose not to follow the rules, or the guidelines... whether its Covid or whatever they are just going to do whatever...

Windermere checking in and I completely agree with this assessment. It's important to note there are four counties in and around WDW and they all play by different rules. The western part of Orange County has great compliance.
I live in downtown Orlando and I agree. It’s rare that I see someone inside a public place without a mask- at this point it’s jarring when I see someone without so I tend to notice. I’ve heard there’s very little compliance in Polk County.

My parents live over in Polk County and I go over there once a week to take care of my parents its 130 mile RT for me to go over there, they are both compromised, and I take care of all the shopping pretty much, and run all the errands, and take them back and forth to doctors, Waston Clinic main campus is on the clear other side of town and other Dr's offices for more appointments. They only drive about a mile, to the Main Dr.'s office, through the drive thru at CVS, and Walgreen, and they have a home town Publix, that still offers certain hours for seniors, that they can go to if they need just a few items... I have told them, if they go into somewhere, and people are not wearing mask to stay away from them, or just leave the store....and With me running all over. Every store that I have been in, office building, bank, all require wearing of the mask and have social distancing sign up everywhere... From my experience, people are following the guidelines over there as well..

There is a very large homeless population in Polk county and at my parents church, the ladies in the sewing circle, they donated over 1000 mask to the hospital when they first shut down thing... now they are making mask and donating them to the homeless shelter.

In Restaurants, do servers wear masks? People making food in restaurants required to wear masks?

FYI: Polk county doesn't have a mask mandate but Lakeland does.

My Parents live in Lakeland... so that's good for them... I do take my mom to the eye specialist over in Winter Haven, and they are wearing mask over there at the doctor office ... Thank goodness you told me, I was unaware that only Lakeland has the mandate... We have an appointment in January in another town, I have to make sure that they are following the guidelines. Thanks again...

My aunt lives in Winter Haven and says nobody wears masks wherever she’s been, but she tries to go out as little as possible. I haven’t been to Polk Co. since last year.

Florida's governor has said counties can require a mask mandate, but they can't enforce it. He isn't allowing any enforceable restrictions concerning Coronavirus/Covid-19. I live in South Florida. My county has said they are still issuing fines & will collect the money after the governor's mandate has expired. We'll have to wait to see how that plays out. I don't know, if the Orlando area plans to do that or not, but I would expect to see a lot of people not wearing masks outside the theme park properties.

I personally think fining both is the best way to handle it. Is Orange County planning to collect the fines from businesses retroactively, when they're no longer prevented from doing so by executive order?

Sorry for going OT OP. I'm just curious how other counties that want to impose fines are planning to collect the money.
